Okay for the real vampires here, what are your thoughts on slayers, hunters, watchers, and guardians?
(Not talking about buffy lol) i went back like 3 years in the forums and didnt see a topic like this and figured, Why not?
did you mean
Slayer and Hunter of Vampires?
or
Slayer of Vampires and Hunters of Humans?

Never met any, and hope I never do in the case of hunters.
oh... I got it right the first time then.
The myth that Vampires hunt to kill is false. We do however hunt to fuck. lol, I however have severed most of my ties with humans due to boundaries in the intellectual communication process. Though I never ruled out the possibility of collecting them and keeping them as pets. Maybe one day, who knows.
I can agree with sera right now. Never meet one and really not interested in meeting one. I really don't hink there would be any hunters where I'm at and if there was well I'm not to worried about it.
Well i know of slayers and hunters around me... And Slayers and hunters are different. Hunters want to kill zombies, aliens, werewolves,or basically anything supernatural... personally i think theyre stupid, Zombies? really?
JudasBrood,
Actually, Zombies, they do exist. But not at all supernatural.
Humans are called Zombies, cause they are flesh eaters and don't think to well either.
Nice description of hunters, makes me think of Ghost Hunters. From this description of Hunters, I would say they are harmless. Cause they know very little, fear too much, only seek proof, and give up too soon.
If this thread is discussing real facts, and not roleplay as it may seem...
There are no slayers, hunters, guardians or watchers for that matter. Who ever is putting these things through the heads of the naive is utterly full of crock and should be set symbol metaphorically. Which is another way of saying "I call you out on your B.S."
There is a certain website that claims to have been made for "real vampires" but is full of crock. Since it mentions many representations of what a real vampire's attributes are, the V5 virus (does not exist), hunters or slayers with interviews and testimonies by individuals that society may never meet nor see on news stations declaring themselves as legitimate, locations to meet supposedly real vampires when in fact the addresses just lead to local goth clubs in popular locations, how to tell real vampires from roleplayers, and phone numbers to call for other tidbits. That site is full of crock and seems to be in place for sensationalism and popularity, mayhaps even for a standing in the vampire community.
Don't believe everything you read online people, give me a break already. As well, don't believe everything you read from those who claim to have supposed standing within the community as there are conspirators as usual who would plague the community with false information, accusations as well as unneeded drama.
Just don't believe the hype. It happened 15 years ago, 10 years ago and will happen for another 5 to 10 years just because it can.
I'm human and most people I know believe I think quite well. I've never been called a zombie before though.
I am a hunter though. A squirrel hunter, with my trusty mountain feist Lucy and a .22 rifle. Other then that I believe you are talking about role play which I don't do.
Wow this sounds like a cheesy scifi show. Sorry. Have not met any and don't believe I will. Nor have I seen any in the news. Though I imagine that if they were ever in the news they would be concidered serial killers and alike just the same as "vampires" and "werewolves" would be. Anyone doing such an activity would have to be really good at covering thier tracks or have someone powerful enough politicaly to do it for them. And while I concider Myself a paranoid individual who believes governments are capable of anything. Sorry. Just don't see it happening.
As well as have those black military helicopters/choppers ready at a moments notice.
Yeah, like that will ever happen... Oooh, I am so scared, someone showing a picture of a crocodile dundee type of blade stuck into a table, makes me tremble with fear.
But, yeah... If there were, even the Weekly World News would have covered it by now.
Both of these stories are of real Slayers.
snipurl.com/father_decapitates_his_son
snipurl.com/greyhoundbus_decapitation
One thing is obvious, these people were not in their right mind, and religion appears to be the cause.
The problem with your news article, is that there is no mention of vampire in the article, only the word "demon" is used. Therefore, this is not a vampire slaying, just an ignorant man that did not know what the hell he was doing.
Well.... they usually never get the story from the suspect, so how do we know for sure what they were actually thinking?
...the Grey Hound story did however mention the guy believed the other guy to have supernatural powers and felt the need to cut off his head to keep him from coming back to life.
Does this description not say (Vampire) indirectly?
I feel the story before it is along the same lines. Why else would a head be decapitated? In the mind set they are in, it would appear to keep the dead dead, am I right? In their mind set, this is what they believe.
Not at all, and as far as the two guys are concerned, it was a father decapatating his son after a brief chase.
Just because something has been claimed to have had super-natural anything, does not conotate that thing to be vampiric, since the vampire has no super-natural powers to begin with or so it is speculated.
I never meet anyone thats a slayer, hunter, guardian etc.. So I really can't say but you really don't ever know whats out there. It's a really big world, but I'm sure I'm not ever going to meet a slayer ot anything. Personally I could really care less if I did. I'ld probably laugh and call them buffy.. *chuckles*
One thing i know about hunters they are real however they do not go about braging about there kills anyone who does that is eather faking it or needs to go to the funny farm!! lol
Slayers, are consider them people who claim they kill us vampyres for the good of human kind, in reality, I believe they use it as an excuse just so they can satisfy their thirst for murder.
*Chuckles* I still cannot believe that the audience of this thread are still posting about slayers as if they were real... I think this is hilarious.
I'm up for possibility, but that does not mean I believe.
If there are "hunters" or "slayers", I consider them derranged serial killers because I don't believe in "actual" vampires.
Once I get honest to god proof of existing vampires, then I'll believe in slayers as well. Because even predators have predators and also you can't have one without the other.
It's like Batman without the Joker.
bounty hunters arent the same as slayers.
"A bounty hunter captures fugitives for a monetary reward (bounty). Other names, mainly used in the United States, include, bail enforcement agent, fugitive recovery agent, and bail fugitive investigator. Other countries do not have bounty hunters; they use standard law enforcement agencies to recover suspects.
Bounty Hunting, and Bounty Hunters, are legal in only two nations, the United States and the Republic of the Philippines."

"Professional or semi-professional vampire hunters played some part in the vampire beliefs of the Balkans (especially in Bulgarian, Serbian, and Romani folk beliefs). In Bulgarian, the terms used to designate them included glog (lit. "hawthorn", the species of wood used for the stake), vampirdzhiya, vampirar, dzhadazhiya, svetocher etc.
They were usually either born on Saturday (then called Sabbatarians[1], Bulgarian sâbotnichav[2], Greek sabbatianoí[1]) or the offspring of a vampire and a woman (typically his widow), called a dhampir in Romani or a vampirović in Serbian. It was also believed that someone born on a Saturday could see a vampire when it was otherwise invisible[1][2][3] (and sometimes other supernatural entities as well); similarly for the dhampir. In the case of the Sabbatarians, it was believed in some places that they needed to be fed meat from a sheep killed by a wolf (Bulgarian vâlkoedene); this would enable them not to fear the things that only they were able to see.
In some traditions, the killing of vampires was only performed by vampire hunters. Aside of the well-known manners of execution (staking the corpse, burning it etc) that were normally entrusted to them, the hunters were also capable of using other methods such as enticing the invisible creature with music and then shooting it, or throwing its hat or head-cloth into the water and telling it to go fetch it (which caused it to drown)"

I live in LA (or used to really, but it's still my home ground) and there are several groups of so-called vampires and slayers that appear to be locked in mortal combat similar to the Venture Bro.s O.S.I and the Guild of Calamitous Intent. It's more hilarious than life threatening and most of the people in either group seem to be friends.
Don't take the hype seriously folks, it ain't worth it.
There were "hunters" back in the day, but I don't believe there are today.
Slayers are either religious fanatics or Van Helsing fanatics. Of course, Van Helsing is a pretty fantastic name to have. Personally, there are slayers and vampire hunters of all types, just as there are vampires of all types. I think for the most part, they make great fiction (ala Anita Blake series).
The closest I've come to a "slayer" was someone who cast a pretty decent binding spell on me. Being an energy vampire that hunts on the astral plane, this was a pretty good way to stop me up for a while.
Slayers who run around with stakes looking to nail a vampire are few and far between. I've personally never met one. I'm not a blood drinker, though there are those here that are.
Dear Soulshroude, this is the stuff that the best fiction is made of... in certain audiences. :) Slayers aren't real. I have yet to find someone that runs around with a vampire slaying kit in the car. And truthfully, they would be looked at even more strangely than those who run around publicly claiming they are vampires to the general public.
