My roommate randomly asked me a question this morning. "What kind of energy do you emit?" He doesn't fully believe in the metaphysical, so this struck me as odd. Apparently, one of the people in our dorm felt a dark, perhaps evil energy when she was standing outside my door. I don't consider myself even the slightest bit "dark", so this made me wonder....


Do other people sense a dark presence when they are around vampires?

I have a theory on that. people are afraid of what they dont know. She did not recongnize your aura and so she became frightened by it and so claimed it was "dark" but i think that many vampires do have a strange aura. And people, like i already said, fear the unknown, the strange thing, and so they claim it to be "dark" because they fear the darker side of life. That is a theory i but logically, it makes since. Not dark, just different. But people dont see it that way. they see different AS dark. Just my opinion though.

That's a very good point. It just struck me as odd. I wasn't aware of anyone in my building being aware of energy in the first place, and suddenly, up comes this mention of a dark energy coming from me. It was just strange.

But I like that idea. It makes sense. She didn't recognize it, so she assumed it was dark.

However, this doesn't explain why she never seemed to react that way when she was around me in person....

Although the vampiric lifestyle as well as many other "subcultures" are becoming more prevelant there is still an uneasiness with those who encounter it for the first time. That, coupled with the fact I believe you have a strong, intelligent personality, may have made her uncomfortable as she didn't understand how to deal with that energy.

Maybe energy feeding is something dark or you had fed off from negative energy,some time before?

I think that it just goes to a simple thought of "fear what you do not understand". That is a pretty normal reaction for most people. You should just take it as a compliment that some random person felt your energy just passing by.

Of those minds who are aware of energy, and different types...Each One precieves things differently...Dark doesn't mean evil...it is more about the density/frequency blend of the energy it self...Similar to light versus dense...

If they know that you are a vampire or clain to be one they are going to try and find a way to make you seem bad even if it's nothing just their imagination so I belive that they only say that to be confident in themselves. So no we do not give off a evil energy

Preconcieved ideas of a individual or group, often has a way of 'spinning' One's opinion of the intent of their Energy...

perhaps you arent the source of the problem, either? do you often attract entites, that is more common than getting that sort of feelng from a person or perhaps that person has just the tinies touch of something like ForeSight and got some sort of premonition at that moment.

That's a good point...Different blends of energy often attract opposite types...

To specify, she had no idea that I was a vampire. It was totally out of the blue. She didn't even know I lived in that room.

That sounds like the density versus the actual type of energy...It's all in what she is used to and how it has reacted with her, and her experiences...

People fear what they don't understand.

It could simply have been that they sensed something out of the ordinary, and felt it to be 'dark' due to the fact they weren't sure what it was.

Were you told when the person passed by? Perhaps it was just a foul mood they picked up on? Quite a few things possible.

I wouldn't say that vampires emit a dark energy, but I agree with people who say that those who are unfamiliar with vamps feel uncomfortable around them. I myself do feel nervous at times but it's only because I wonder whether or not I should approach and make myself be knownst to them.

i agree fear of the not understanding... or ignorance is bliss. tell them pick up a book learn something (i.e. how to be open minded) and get a life (not you them)

I think you are taking this the wrong way. Her statement wasn't directed in a negative way. It was more one of bewilderment. She didn't understand why it felt that way. It was just a feeling she got and apparently it stuck with her.

Perhaps. It was simply a thought. I don't really know if it was me, my roommate, or even an entity that I'm not aware of.

It could have been energy related to the structure or hallway it self...So many different options...That's what makes it a interesting discussion...

Certainly. It was just so random that it caght me off guard. Just getting up in the morning, all of a sudden, "Dan, what kind of energy do you emit?" I didn't know how to answer it.

It would be hard to answer, beacuse it would vary from moment to moment, and it would depend on who was precieving it...

humans are ignerant and feel that energy and are afreid of it and jump to conclusions and call it dark or evil or something stupid

Probably she just has some wrong preconceptions about the "dark". People with strong religious beliefs tend to misinterpret everything. That's it. No big deal.

Everyone is a bit of darkness, but in regards to the title of your tread, I don't htink that vampirism means negative energy at all.

i have been around many people and have never been told that i emit a dark energy. i guess it depends on the people around you and how they interpret vampires.

Well in my opinion some people don´t understand at all the vampiric world...they consider us freaks of nature...i don´t think we are that way...it´s called miss understanding...

First there is nothing wrong with dark energy. It is just another source to be used when you need it.

Second people might sence it from anyone who is open to their darkside, but that is not specific to vampires.

All people have the ability to sense energy within another person, Dark, Hot, Cold, Subtle whatever they want to call it, there are 2 forms of energy that psychics believe in.. Negative and positive.. Most people draw energy from various sources, the sun, the moon the water as well as the air we breath. Most people who dont work with their own energy enough doesn't feel a difference in the energy they consume. Those of us who work with energy clear our energy on a day by day basis through meditation.. Cleansing our soul sorta speak.. We focus during meditation all of our energy to our center then release the negative energy that has built up inside us and then release the positive throughout our bodies and draw positive energies we feel from other sources such as the sun the rain or anything that feels good to us. If your are unaware of the energy you draw upon, you might try a different approach by cleansing your energy through meditation and then see what sorta outcome you get, as we believe in the fact that negative energy draws negative results in life and death. it depends on wat vampire im around if the vampire has a soul then no i feel comfortable around him but when im around most vampire there dark enegry is there and it can take hold of you and do things to you

A point to consider is that females, sense energy at different levels than males. this is NOT a putdown to males, it is a statement of biology that traditional science refuses to recognize. I has to do with hormonal balance, there are certain times (monthly) when a females estrogen level bottoms out, this makes her sense and feel things much more acutely and sensitively then she otherwise might feel them. Males have the equivilent of this "bottomed out" level all of the time but males produce a compensatory amount of testosterone...(yes boys...all fetuses/zygotes start out as XX..you produce it too) Females do not (usually) produce testosterone in the levels that would allow for a lack of notice in mood change. What do I mean by this? do men have "pms"? In a certain way, yes, because as humans, hormonal changes affect us all. But males do not "completely lose" an inflection of hormone as females do. It is often thought that during this transition, women become acutely aware of changes in environment and can "feel" the difference in "things" hence, the myth of "women's sixth sense". Dark energy? Where doesn't dark energy exist? It is a companion to the light and it could have been anything...you, a mood, a thought you were having in private in your room, your roomate; anything. Energy is energy, and apparations of it vary.

some very good points made here. i agree that when most people don't understand something, they must by default make it into something evil. the ego of fools seems to have no bounds. 'i don't understand, therefore, evil'. why do the open-minded ones get the short stick? grrr. grrr.

i think it depends not on whether or not a person is a vampire or not, but more upon the person him/herself. I'm a vampire, yet, not a dark person (for the most part), and then you have people who aren't vampires, yet they emit dark energy because they're just very negative people.

There is yet another possibility. It goes along the line of perception, as most of these have been... Don't take this personally, because I've had the same reactions myself:

Do you often look like your picture here? If so, that could be part of it. When a person of "a certain religion that shall remain nameless" upbringing sees one of us in our preferred garb and make-up, they automattically assume we must be "evil", "corrupt" or otherwise "up to no good". It is the way they are taught and most tend not to go out and see for themselves what the REAL TRUTH is in the world.

On the other hand, you could've both just have been having a bad day and your energies clashed...LOL

people tend to fear that in which they do not understand. i feel there is no such thing as feeling energies that a person emits. if they say that they feel a dark energy it is probably that there is something about that person or object that they fear.
