I'm interested in seeing what others understand or know in the area of vampire magick. I've always been interested in wicca and witchcraft but lately I'm seeking something more allong the vampire archetype or path. Would anyone like to discuss this?
Real simple any magic a vamp uses is (vamp magic) there is no one catch all to the above spoken of label. There are some who choose the dark arts or another form of magic or something diff, it is all up to the person what they use
it would help you if you search and buy nooks, but before you actually perchise the book, make sure to do some research on it, make sure its legit.
In Vampire The Masquerade, Thaumaturge is what Tremer Clan use, Blood Magic.
Though their are references to blood magic in the occults, it is not necessarily vampire related.
oh ok lol I don't do RPGs at all. That reminds me of Sangomancy though. Listed in the Scrolls of Elorath as the mixture between blood and magick.
But one should remember that there are those who would sway others to take for fact things in fiction.
Yes you are correct. I have to take things in stride and with a grain scale. If fantasy overwhelms fact too much, I tend to shun away from the topic.
Blood is a very potent energetic and alchemical substance. It's one of the principle foundations of life on our planet. I don't know of any specific rituals or spells oriented to vampires, but you could definitely design your own using the principles of blood; or even just energy exchange. It would likely involved others, since half the vampire mystique revolves around the sharing and transference of life force.
I would say some vampire spells would look something like establishing deep bonds and opening special energetic pathways between yourself and your donor or partner. Perhaps empowerment magick as well; things like increasing your health and stamina, strengthening your senses(including psychic), or making yourself strangely attractive to others. With all magick, always be VERY careful when designing the spell and keep in mind all possible consequences.
I think vampire follow one magic: Dire the energy and lean on the source of energy. ;)
Thaumaturgy I think is mostly used in Hermetic Qabalah mostly. But it is religion to religion different.
Magick is Magick. It is spelled this way to differentiate it from stage magic. That being said, there is Vampyre magick practiced by sorcerers who are initiated and must be of a rank high enough to be given the training. This is true of those who believe themselves to be of a number of Vampyre "Orders" which include Temple of the Vampyre for one. Like most groups they have used pre-existing templates to create their spells and incantations, most of which come from the Temple of Set and the Church of Satan. Of course there is material from Aleister Crowley's "Magick in Theory and Practice" and the Thelemic "Ordo Templi Orientis", Crowley's magickal order. There are also Vampyres who use none of the above and rely on their own sources to learn their magick, over decades of study and applied application. Some are also witches who learned their craft from those who initiated them. This is more elemental magick, and comes from the sources like "Aradia, Goddess of the Witches" in which the Goddess Diana states, "all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals."
I don't know... a caped magician who wears fangs as he pulls the rabbit outa the hat?
Seriously, why would a blood-thirsty reanimated corpse (the standard definition of a vampire) need "magick," anyway? And if one does not define the "vampire" thusly, then what definition of same would allow for such a being needing of even wanting to use "magick"?
As I understand it, "Magick" is a term applied to whatever "spells," "hexes," "rituals," "rites," etc., are used by Humans to attempt to achieve desired ends by supposedly "supernatural" means. I don't see how any such would be desired or needed by non-Human entitites such as "Vampires" who are, by very definition, already supernatural.

The problem here is people need to preference whether they are speaking about within the subculture or fiction/games or something they read historically. It gets confusing when they are all mixed together.
Thaumaturgy
Origin:
1720–30; < Gk thaumatourgía. It just means the working of wonders or miracles; magic.
It has nothing to do with blood per se. That would be individual in nature.
Then you have the word Theurgy which also originates from the Greek and means the practice of rituals, sometimes seen as magickal in nature, performed with the intention of invoking the action or evoking the presence of one or more gods, especially with the goal of uniting with the divine, achieving henosis, and perfecting oneself. Theurgy means 'divine-working'.
The Scrolls of Elorath come from ideas connected to Father Sebastiaan/Stregoi Vii. It is not chiseled in stone to be fact. This is more of a belief system than anything else. Some do call their magick vampire if they use blood in their rituals or if they believe in vampire gods and some groups do and they call upon them when doing magickal workings.
As for reanimated corpses, lol...I guess you might find something in fictional works that incorporate them and connected to something magickal.
Excuse me, I meant within the 'scene' or 'culture' I don't do games.
blood is potent in magick...how you choose to use it...i think the individual that creates their own rituals can add an extra punch to it when blood is used.
but thats just my thought

A simple search on Amazon.com would solve this, lol
Still, one good reccomendation is THE VAMPIRE RITUAL BOOK by Michelle Bellanger.
This is the real deal, no RPG crap.
Still, if you're a vampire and you use magick then it could be considered vampiric magick, all in how you look at it.
