any word on how things are going in adding the thousands of submissions already waiting?

There are only about a dozen. A Procurator will be on it soon enough.

I've only see a few so far, but they look very good. I especially like the Dead Spider cigarette case, very cool. I'll have to rate them all when I have more time.

OOH - That reminds me. While I'm in there, I'll see if Daire added those VR writing contest entries from so long ago...

I know I have sent in three or four submissions with no feed back and thats OK I just tell people about new stuff coming out.

Take a look at the people in the thread that say they have submitted articles and not gotten any responses.

We might have more additions pending than we realize! :)

Do we just send the URL and leave the procurator with a lot of work to do, or do we submit a review in our own words with the URL of the website - and how do we provide a picture, if we're supposed to write the review ?

Thank you VW for all that you are doing to help VD and for paying attention to us about items that were sent in. As for letting us all know there are new items that have been added is GREAT news and greatly appreciated!

Glad to hear that, VW... very glad to hear that. I've held off because I know things were backed up and those already submitted were to be taken care of. There is so much to do to handle a site this size behind the scenes. Would like to be of assistance as well, if needed.

Realize none of these submissions are in the queue if they've been declined. People do get a message if they are.

I accept a few here and there- it takes time. None have been in there for months that are there currently. There is a lot to consider when accepting articles. We should not have to make any edits by the time they are in the queue. Some of them are chock full of spelling and grammatical errors, some cut and paste jobs, some WAY too long, some have submitted like NUMEROUS all at the same time. Plus... there is a truckload other things Admins are doing on VR than the article submissions.

NO submissions in there have been there for months- you have to know that. You do receive a notice when and if they are declined.

I'm wondering what exactly it is that you feel is "nice".

I've spoken to Cancer on the issue and something will be done over time. For now, just be patient. If all of you who posted to this were only referring to articles you've written, then be extra patient. The admins have a lot on their plates. As far as submissions for items to the categories, such as books, movies, clothing, etc, I again make the offer that you can send them direcctly to me and I'll get them posted for you.

YES- the quickest way to get a database entry uploaded is to directly message a Procurator. You can also mention them to me- I won't offer up all the Admins because I don't know if they have the time- I believe they all all either work or go to school. I go to school only one night a week- home online here at VR the rest of the week, lol.

If your entry is a valid one for The Vampire Database, you'll see it uploaded pronto.

Thank you for the updates and the explainations for the new addtions...This place has evolved so much in the past couple of years and I would like to extend a word of thanks to all of those that work behind the scenes to make this place better...

VW and Images....this was great to clear up many misconceptions in regards to the database.. thank you both.

I have a few things to add, will wait a bit till things slow down.

from what I have seen in the vampire database....its looking really good...nice variety.

Can we get some topic areas or a list of desired articles that the admins or Cancer would feel would benefit the site? Maybe a top 10 desired topic submission list?

It also might help to post some examples of good and bad submissions and point out why they are so. Also include details and give examples of how long is to long, desired topic areas as I stated above and any other desired formatting. Or rewrite the current requirements better.

I currently have links for 40+ new items and as soon as I can get enough time, they will be added.

I'm going through them rating them now... I've even noticed that by the time I'm done, more are added! Great work!

believe it or not everyone the things you send in for submission do get looked over for entry. however you shouldnt assume that anything you send in, as has been said, will get added. if writing articles is a big part of what you do here then you might think about taking a look at Sangre Fidelis if you arent in a house/coven and think about it for a future prospect. It is after all VW's driving idea for the creation of the coven.

ok is there any reason that they are just randomly mized into the other things in the dataabse? i have beenjust guessing to try and find the new ones whatsthe best way to find them?

the best way to find the new ones is to go into the category that interests you, say accessories. When you're in there, check the little box called 'Newest' then 'submit' - all the new listings will be at the top

i finally glad we are gettings some new additions, im sure i could come up with a 1000 things i think should be added, great job guys!!!

OMG, I love the new additions. Thank you vampwriter and to all that has submitted. One question though, I have found some really cool baby clothing, gothic style, it is a danish store but I do know that they ship to the states and UK, the prizes are in danish currency sadly, so my question is, does the price have to be displayed in USD or if I give the current exchange rate that you can add that instead? SIlly question perhaps, but it would be good to know.

I always like to see new things added to the database. It is always interresting to see new things.

In reference to Member Artices~ that option has been given to Dominars to maintain alongside Admins.

Soon enough the system will be in place, and submissions will be taken care of with greater speed.

Being as though I am in charge of finding masks and fangs for Sangre Fidelis to add to the DB I hope everyone takes some time to go and rate the new additions that not only I found but as well as everyone else. Im still working on finding some new fangs to add but new masks are there already :)
