I am curious to know; how many of you have been affected by this TV program?

The Hilarious House of Frightenstein

I realize that it is mostely only Canadians that have ever seen this childrens TV program; however, after seeing it on SPACE, I have just realized how big an impact it has had on my childhood.

I wonder to myself if it has had a significant impact on Goth culture in the world, or perhaps only in Canada. Perhaps it had an affect on people outside of Canada, or that it has had a "brain drain" or trickle down affect.

What is your opinion?

it's like sesame (sp) with a really awesome twist i probably would have watched it if it aired when i was still a little kid in the U.S.

Hmmm, Sesame street. I am not entirely sure this show was ever really intended for childrens education...LOL; surely for rntertainment. Most of the people I know who watched this show as a kid were entirely freaked out by it. It is definately disturbing but in a good way.

I remember it being on tv really early in the morning in the 70's... I was not a morning person... still am not, so I missed many many episodes.

It is something I had entirely forgotten about... however the more I contemplate the characters the more I see the influence in my life. Cooking, Reading, Traveling... so many of my interests are a direct influence of this show. Would I be goth if it werent for this show?

Is this where I first heard of Vampires? It could have been bugs bunny... LOL but I doubt it.

freigtenstein is on Space in the early morning and also on Drive in classics I believe. it is also has the episodes available for purchase... which I fully intend to do

It's on in the morning at my house at least twice a week, it's kinda funny.

I am truely surprised that there aren't more Canadians on here that were deaply affected by this show.

I`m not Canadian but I watched the your tube link ,It seems funny... I`m a Vincent price fan as soon as I seen him it pulled me in we don`t get this show but I`m sure I`d watch it a few times if we did...

Yes, Vincent Price was a big part of the show. Heh, the voice of Macabre.

Canadians get some decent TV!

I didn't see it, but damn if it doesn't look like it would be a fine show for a youngster.

for those who are able to ever catch any of this,as i remember it was very campy and the humor lowkey.geared of course for children and preteens,b ut all in all not a bad watch,and the late Mr.Price was a wonder to see on there,again,kudos for mentioning it

Yes it was nice to see MR price but just like watching old Benny hill shows I change channels too quick coz im board … I do like the space channel though

I watched that show all the time when I was a kid and loved it. But then again as a kid I was always fascinated with Vincent Price and Bela Lugosi. So that was a natural choice for me to make to watch that show when it aired because Vincent Price was in it. I still watch it on space every now and then. I don't think it really had a big effect on kids becoming goth I think that is just the way someone is or isn't some kids just don't like the show and some kids do like everything else it is a choice you make

Unfortunately I've never seen it, but I'm sure as a kid if I'd seen Vincent Price was in in I would have watched all the time. I loved him and Bela Lugosi and Creature Features when I was a kid.
