Hello everyone,

I believe I have got an interesting thread subject. Here goes:

I was wondering if a vampire has to be turned, or if it possible a vampire is born. And if so: how is a vampire created? Is it by blood exchange? But there are also psychic vampires, so turning by blood exchange would seem out of order. That leads us back to the question; how are psychic vampires created? I have read some part of the Vampire Codex and it said that psychic vampires feed off others energy without being aware of it. So psychic vampires don’t know that they are psychic vampires. Also, the Vampire Codex said that if one would know it would be feeding on someone else’s energy, they would stop. But in the parts that I have read, there is no explanation for how one becomes a psychic vampire. You would think that one is born with this need for energy. Or is it also possible, with a lot of practise, to become a psychic vampire on purpose?
If psychic vampires are ‘born’, why couldn’t the blood drinking vampires be?
I know for sure that there are a lot of people who become a blood drinking vampire on purpose, for many reasons. But what separates the ‘real’ blood drinking vampire from the wannabees? And what separates the ‘born’ psychic vampires from the others? And why would one become a psychic vampire on purpose? What is so alluring about others energy? It is because psychic vampires cannot ‘make’ that energy on their own, causing them to steal it instead?

I know, there are a lot of questions in there… *looks up*
But the real question is: can you help me answer my questions?

p.s I do not intend to insult anyone, especially psychic vampires. it is just that I know little about them. this thread is merely a stream of my thoughts. please, do not take offense in my words.

Very interesting thread. I do not know if a vampire is born know their or whether something has to awaken that thirst. For most of us it has occurred later, but the possibility os open.

Vampires can not be born. Werewolves can be born but they are alive. You have to think about that vampires are not really alive. They are made. By blood exchange.

I think that vampires are not born but created when they first taste blood, they may be born into a vampiric society but do not become one until they have their first taste of anothers blood....=)

I feel that both psychic and sanguinarium (blood) vampires can both be formed and turned. Most sang vampires that are born know what they are, usually at an early age due to the cravings. However, psychic vamps lack those particular cravings and their system goes into automatic survival mode for general net-dragging. Many are not even aware they are even doing this. There are psychic vampires that go their whole lives not knowing the truth of what they really are because the signs are often very subtle. With the sangs, it's easier to spot. Both have the ability to turn others as well.

i do believe that a vampire can be born because if u go to turn a pregnant ladie then wouldn't the born baby be a vampire? but to know if u are a psychic vampire is a good question that we may never know.

A vampire is a vampire is a vampire. You are talking about feeding styles. There is no difference between a psychic vampire and a sanguine, except feeding styles. They say Psi vampires are very empathic and usually refer to the Psi when empathy is brought up but I know sanguines that are very empathic. It's all about energy. That is what we need. Some believe there is a higher concentration of lifeforce energy in blood and quite frankly I'm not so sure they don't just think that is how they feed if they are vampiric. (Not to be making assumptions). This is supposedly the prime reason for drinking blood, not the blood itself but the energy level within it. All can feed from many sources. I know many sanguine oriented vampirics and all of them feed that way periodically and have other sources as well.

The prevailing view is one is born a vampire and they cannot be made. A person can learn to draw energy and use it but they physically would not need it as someone who is truly vampiric or so it is assumed. Many call these people Psions.

The term turning and sire come from either White Wolf games or novels and movies. It is believed by some and I will say some because not all agree on what makes a vampire, that they are born with an inability to maintian their energy field and must get energy from other sources to do so. I can tell you if you are not actively doing this your unconscious level will do this for you. I have seen this many times and really the tags for types are just that. We all feed on energy from various sources. We try to practice good habits if sanguine and have donors. There are always those that don't want to follow any ethical standards...the radicals in every subculture.

This is a tough one to answer. I have vampire friends that are either blood drinkers or psi. As what I have been told is that there are numerous species of vampires and it would depend on the species itself. My psi vampire friend also draws on blood as well but only as a last resort. My blood drinker friends all have told me that there are the ones that are born as a vampire which they call themselves inheritors and then the one we are all familiar with which can be turned which they call themselves "classicals". I've been told that it depends on the species how one is turned. Either by a bite, or by the draining of the blood and partaking of the vampire's blood, or even sex (which is not typical). Some may think that this is all hogwash but it's just what I've been told.

Hasn't this topic... not the pregnant lady topic.. but the "how is a vampire made" topic been beat to death already? It has to be in the RIP's somewhere down the line....

I think for the most part the modern day vampire grows into that position, i would think it would be like learning who you are, finding your morals and your stance on life. It would be like choosing a religion or finding your sexuality. It just fits, it would seem like, that is who you are, you were born to be this you have no other choice.

Ah Birra, I may have to try that one...

great question, I can only speak for myself. I am a sang. I awakened after my father's death. I had always known i had a different path to walk, it was later i discovered what it was, and the thirst began.

Vampires are born my friend.One simply is a vampire or one is not.There may be some point in one's life where the "awakening' is started and some never do experience it.
There is no such thing as turning, just in games.

I wouldn't be suprised if there has been indeed a similair thread about "how is a vampire made" and as you put it 'beat to death'. But I don't read every single thread that is posted, perhaps I should have regarding this subject. What's done is done and I will remeber it next time.

I feel A vampire is born it is in the DNA.. it is an instinct...

as for psychic vampires...They truly have some gift... I think it is a mixture of things.. I don't totally understand that part, But I do feed from ppl's energies.. mainly a room of happy people.. and uplifting gatherings.
