According to a few people, being a vampire has its certain traits and quirks that come along with the title.
For example, feeding/manipulation of energy be it blood, energy, sex etc. Also sensitivity to sunlight and an extreme case of empathy. Some say it is also a complete lifestyle change.
Well my questions are for those of you who do consider yourselves vampires.....
How much of a lifestyle change was it for you? What did you have to change, if anything at all? And who else in your life did it effect?
And...would you choose to go back to what you were before hand?
If you consider yourself to have been the same creature since birth...
Would you choose to live a human lifestyle?
And do you think you could handle it?
If you are a human....
Would you want to change?
Who do you think the change would effect most, other then yourself?
And do you think you could handle it?
Obviously we are all happy with who and what we are, It was just a question that popped up.
:)
i am lycan,,,,,,,,,,not vampyre my walk is different i only exceed energies i dont take them, that would be a dishonor 4 me to feed on carrion unless i had to do it and i will not i am a healer not a hunter
Understandable. How long have you been lycan and how much of your life has it effected??? Or is there next to no difference from a human's day to day activities?
my lifestyle has undergone many changes for various different reasons but it does not come as a shock
I can tell you that I'm a vampire, and since I changed, I noticed some changes in me... at night felt more aware, I can see better at night, I drink blood, my smell has improved too... I can perceive many things now...
I wouldn't go back... I like what I am now... I could tell that my senses are better now... I don't know how to put it into words...
The main factor that played on me more than anything else is sensitivity to sunlight. the rest i can deal with, but the sun i cant, luckly for me its not really that sunny in England.
as far back as i can remember when i cut my finger or hand i never wanted a band-aid. i would just shoy iy into my mouyh and suck till it stopped. i kinda figured it out then.
Because vampirism isn't a lifestyle for me, but who I am - there wasn't exactly a lifestyle change. More of an "ah ha!" moment when I realized that if I wanted a more fulfilling life, I needed to make some changes to bring in energy externally.
I am not sensitive to the sun and I never have been. While some are, there isn't exactly a direct correlation between sensitivity to sun and vampirism; it's all relative to the person.
Completely agreeing with BeautifullySadistic- I do not believe that vampires are these Hollywood of mythical creatures. I see it as a way of life that is apropos to energy manipulation- however, I still would not call myself a vampire as I feel that again is the Hollywood term.
I would NOT want to be one of those, neither do I pretend I am- I just try to have a heightened and balanaced perspective on the world, nature and others.
True enough. I know not everyone is sensitive to the sun, or are more nocturnal then others.....i was just using it as an example. :)
There is often great sacrifice that comes with awakening. Most of us have left many things in order to pursue our true nature. The question for me has been, how true to myself am I willing to be, and what cost am I willing to pay.
I have been the same way since i can remember so my lifestyle has always been with me the same throughout. Not much help but that is what it is with me.
For me, it wasn't a complete lifestyle change at all. I was pretty much living the lifestyle, before I knew what the lifestyle was.
i am both lycan and vamp so i can go out in sun(although it hurts slighly) my cahnges were to wear more black i feel drawn to it. A respect for all things of the night. a more serios demeanor. a repsect for life, and the ability to reconize when one is wasting. me personally i have no problem seeing death, though i repect life,i olny respect people who realise there gift of life those who dont deserve death
For me the only things that really changed would occur at night. For one I'm less tired. And I also and aware of other things in the night and I can see better at night now. I also sleep later during the day. I feel hungry constantly. But it has basically only effected me.
I think most will agree to some extent that, that "vampire" traits as u stated, were always with us. Me,personally, was always more energetic at night, hated the bright sunlight.Do better at thinking or creating at night. My taste for rare meat was always there, even when I was young. I just had different likes and dislikes of food than my family.
Energy manipulation is not something that is just for vampires. I saw yer listing there and was not sure if u were including that as a trait in vampires.Regardless, energy manipulation is a whole nuther ball game*grins*
But once again, I don't think we can clump vampires as being or feeling the same things all the time.I know several that enjoy being out in the sun and really hate blood and the thought of sang.feeding.
And yes, I believe I was born the way I am.Turning is and the concept is bullsh%t
I don't feel I have had a real change in lifestyle... I am whoI am and have always been. If anything more of a change to be mainstream.
i was always different and knew it from when i was little it just took me a while to figure out why but it wasnt a hard change i was already running away off into the night just to enjoy the moon and i loved bing in the dark i wasnt ever afriad so my mom got scared a lot she thought i was possed and kept leaveing a damned night light in my room which was usually distroyed in the moring anyway but she kept buying new ones to replace the broken ones
my ex use to have to change His lifestyle to fit other peoples needs but i don't see how or why a person would have to do that
i have had a change of lifestyle and i wish i would of did this along time ago i didnt know then what i know now but always knew i liked what i seen
I think the hardest thing for me to deal with is not physically changing, I reached mature proportions, but my face never changed. Makes it a bitch to get into the bar *sighs* But there was never really a big lifestyle change, I've always been nocturnally inclined, don't like sunlight, just kinda sick of being pale as a ghost. It's a pain when the new style is all the girls spend hours in the cancer-boxes coming out looking like they got back from the carribean.
We all change our lifestyle for various things. Regardless of if you're a vampire or not over hte course of your life your lifestyle changes as you do.
Yes i know, but im asking for the vampire or even the lycan's view and how it effects them differently....or if at all...not just ppl's lives in general....maybe some people handle it differently...Just curious :P
I am an energy vampire and I have learned how to chanel the right energies...
I don't think there is any change in lifestyle- just accepting who you are and have always been without letting the stigma get to you. You don't have to announce it, you don't have to change the way you dress. All you have you to is swallow it and move on as usual :)
My lifestyle never really changed drastically.....I was just more accepting of the things that I had to incorporate into my life.
it depends what kind of vampire u are to what traits u get but it is true that there are lifestyle changes that would have to be made to accomidate these traits
I personally think that if I am a vampire of any sort it would be a psy vampire. I know that I am still very young in my awakening but I know that being in large groups like concerts, bars, clubs etc. I feel energized and complete though I dont think that I feed per se but more relish in the ambiant energy around me. My awakening has brought about changes but nothing that was too odd for me since I have always stuck out and been an ODD sort. I have just embraced my feelings toward myself, my appearance and my feelings more. I think its safe to say that I would never want to go back to living the way that I did before. I spent so much time trying to fit in or be normal. I finally realized that I was fighting a losing battle trying to be something I wasnt designed to be.
I can handle any change that happens to me in my life. It won't affect anyone else but me since I mostly keep to myself anyways.
it would change alot for me but i would be willing to take that change for the better
I agree to one of those answers..That sun light one!
i am a white person..sun doesn't like my body...nor do i enjoy it backk
We try to keep our distance=]
k,br>My parents find it funny...I get annoyed sometimes?_?
a lifestyle can change as easly as a fashion style can, since its our nature to change, so in it is no difrent in the lifestyle we cant escape this nature in us.
Me I did change and I continue changing.
singinghost... is this just a curious question ? or are you thinking about changeing
I never went through any changes, except puberty. My lifestyle has been the same throughout my life. I have the soul of a Vampyre, and the blood of a Wytch. I have lived thousands of incarnations, knowing what I am.
This is purely a cursious question.....and i know that with everyone else in life, people go through changes and such i was just rerfering more along the lines of specific changes. For example turning from human to vampire and how they would deal or even if they would have to deal with the change....
Thats all...just curious :)
i feel that todays vampires do not turn as the history vampires saposeably done. people who consider them selves vampires. its nothing like history now this is with no disrespect at all its a nother generation
well your life style will always be changing so my advice is this for get what other ppl have to say about it and just live the way you want
I think everyone has hit the nail on this one. Nothing in my lifestyle changed, it's more of I became aware of what it was I am doing, and then trying to control it. I am still me in every way, only now I know who I am. I can be more like me, but I think everyone who knows me would recognize that fact. I was the last one to figure myself out like that *lol*.
As for the whole sunlight thing, it definately has nothing to do with being a vampire. I naturally function better nocturnally, but I have no sensitivity to sunlight. It just makes my eyes hurt with the brightness, but that is everybody, human or vamp (that's why they have sunglasses).
I do not consider my self to be a vampire so this is in response to your question about humans. I wouldn't change who I am, but if I were to I think that it would affect my family the most.
