nephilim are supposedly the offspring from angels and human women. angels aren't supposed to be able to reproduce, so some scholars claim they stole semen from sleeping male humans - like incubi / succubi.

the mythology has probably come down from the stories in Greek myths of Gods mating with human women to produce heroes and demigods.

there are some people today that believe the whole myth grew from aliens experimenting in human / alien hybrids. there are myths about human women being impregnated by gods / demons / angels / spirits in every culture. in China today there are still stories of so called human / yeti hybrids.

But fairly tales had to have some origin...no matter how out of proportion it is taken there is always some foundaion that story was made off of. It is reflected in every culture and almost every religion.

As regards the Nefilim in particular, once researched thoroughly what stands out most prominently is the great similarity between the legends of the Sumerian Anunnake (the Sumerian accounts of these same celestial beings) and the near-identical legends found throughout the Americas and Egypt of a small group of men who descended from the skies and established Earth's first and greatest civilizations, teaching Humankind not only the skills needed to form a true society, but also teaching them the same morals and ethics. And like in Canaan and Sumer, in some cultures they were welcomed resulting in a gloriously successful civilization (e.g., Egypt, Sumer) and in other cultures, they were rejected and their families slaughtered resulting in cultures who remained forever backward, brutal, and primitive (e.g., Canaan and some of the ancient American civilizations).

Oh, and surprise... they were not giants at all any more than they were actual "fallen" angels.

From what I've gathered thusfar in this thread, angels were not supposed to or possibly weren't able to reproduce, and it was mentioned that some scholars theorize that they stole semen from human males.

So... if a nephilim is indeed a hybrid between an angel/God and a human, and they wished to reproduce with human women to create Demi-Gods... how could they have possibly achieved this by using the semen of a human male?

I will interject after all the postings on this thread, and will lovingly thank Oceanne, Carvall, Infernal, and Upir for the wonderful info regarding said race of angelic origin.

I know I will recieve arguement over this, and to most will seem speculative, but the neph were not fallen, rather they chose not to choose either path. As their paths were differant, the Lord let them be the travelers. Their purpose was to acknowledge humankind, and to give humankind the proper knowledge on where to proceed with the travels to the heavens.

Societies from ancients past misconstrude this information, and took them for the fallen ones. As the neph had no wings at all, but a differant mark altogether...Thus the vampire stereotype was inflicted onto them.

This knowledge comes from the Akashic records, Ancient egyptian texts from the time of the Sumerians, and the keepers of the sacred knowledge.

Another reason why humankind thinks there is still a war between the heavens and the hells...Here on Earth.

The Nephilim are the offspring off fallen angels and human women. But the women has to be a willing individual to be able to cary the child to full term. Most generally the angels did not allow the child to live to puberty due to the child being unstable mentally and having powers of an angel, bad combo i guess.

I did some research on this topic awhile back. Biblically speaking, the nephilim can be found indirectly mentioned in Genesis. The Book of Enoch (recovered from the Dead Sea Scrolls) has a lot of interesting material to digest, if you are looking for reading on the matter. (note: I would not look to wikipedia for any information...NOT a good source)

What I've seen...nephilim are supposedly the offspring of angels and female humans. They taught enchantments and spells to humans and were supposedly wicked, unholy. (if you read the text carefully you can get the idea why many witches refer to the powers of the earth, air, water, fire...possible link to the nephilim) God did not like what he saw and therefore destroyed the nephilim (comes the great flood). Supposedly, the souls of the beings were trapped to earth because Heaven would not permit such a being in...thus, the dead nephilim became demons.

Whether its true or not is up to the reader. Fascinating, none the less.

Genesis, as theshining1 posted. I believe that is the only reference to them in the bible where they are called Nephalem.

I am interested in the connections between the Nephalem, Annunaki and the Enlightened Teachers (such as Jesus and Quetzalcoatl). It seems that they can all be related if the assumption is made that they were actually extraterrestrial beings. How else is it that there is Sumerian record of the outter planets? Little bit of a tangent there, my apologies. :)

Those of whom thing paper text, scrolls and or books would be in the astral plain do have quite the imagination.

As for Jesus and quaz, these two were reknowned Sacred Geometrists and keepers of the Alchemies. They were teachers of the arcane. As well as had the infinite knowledge of the unknown. As with Seripus Bey. They were descendants of a far greater society, just wishing to give society nowadays a clear thought process, just to achieve something like that of the golden age. But again, we are back to the bronz age, slipping into a sort of copper era. Sucks to be us.
