I just got done watching Superman Doomsday the new animated movie and I have to say that I was impressed. I was expecting it to be just a feature long episode of the animated series but this is a much darker portrayal of the story then they could ever show of Tv. Doomsday actually kills people, not just knocks them over and he does it in a pretty savage way. Of course you don’t actually see anything, they made sure of that but you get the gist and you can hear bones breaking off screen. They made a few changes e.g Doomsday is now implied to be a robot not an organic being and he is also sporting a new pair of pants. Can’t have big savage murderous creatures running around naked, even if they don’t have genitals. This movie is also a very condensed version of the story with none of the Superman replacements making an appearance. There were times when I rolled my eyes but those moments were usually followed by something that made me smirk or gain more appreciation for the movie. I won’t give any of those moments away just incase someone wants to watch it. Overall I would give it four out of five stars, loosing a star simply for some of the short cuts they took.

I have the comic book of where this event happend the first time. I saw a version of Doomsday that I really didn't like very much. Actully found it really stupid and boring at least compared to the details in the comic I read. I really enjoyed the comic very much.
