1) FM Makes some kick ass eggplant!

2) Pai provides limitless opportunities for entertainment.

3) I think you should give a wide path to a truck from Alaska with a ginormous antenna.

4) PLEASE don't call me "Sir"!

Conference Day 2

05:36 May 19 2010
Times Read: 709

Had conference seesions all day here in Rochester.

They had a decent breakfast & lunch set up for us at the hotel. The "Table Top Reception" this evening started right after the conference sessions ended so I chatted with some different folks from teh industry and had some nice snacks and free beer!

I had dinner in the Hotel restaraunt - Pretty decent salmon with a maple sauce over rice pilaf with grilled squash. I then headed over to the Hotel bar to watch teh Flyers vs. Canadiens. The Flyers spanked the Habs 3- 0. Ended up drinking several too many beers courtesy of one of the vendors here. I might actually be able to benefit from some of the things he offers so...good deal all around!

Upstate NY

23:57 May 17 2010

So, here I am in Rochester in a lovely hotel room overlooking the Genesse River.

I can se that this city could be awesome. It's a shame Kodak has fallen on tough times, it really shows here. Things look like there was once a really great infrastructure and vibrant down town. The city-scape, the esplanade by the river, etc. It just seems kind of neglected. Hopefully the economy turns around and thing can turn around.

As far as my stay here...I am attending a conference at one of the Downtown hotels. Today I had two "Short Courses", one on Electrostatics and one on "Web Wrinkles." I know, thrilling!

I had dinner in the restaraunt at the holel as I walked around and there was nothing I found within walking distance. I had Fish & Chips. The waitress brought out my meal and, I swear, someone went and caught Jaws and batter dipped and fried it! The piece of fish had to be 10" long! It over hung the rectangular plate! While I was eating I had a Guiness...mmmm

Now I am heading off to the "Table Top Reception" where they have an open bar and people try to sell you stuff. You have to politely seem interested as you really think "Are you nuts? Do you think anyone is going to their Corporate Bosses to spend 20 Grand on this Rube Goldburg thingee?"

An BTW, I thought the PA Turnpike sucked. The NY Throughway....OMFG what a mess!

Been there, done that....

Took 95 all the way from Florida to Palmer, Mass. The first time I ever drove through New York was on that trip, scared me to DEATH.

But I also went to Tarrytown, New York for a visit- best trip I ever had...

Mmmm hmm. Winter in Upstate NY has ended and now we're on to the other season we have...

...construction season.

Kidding. I know you're coming into town on Wednesday night for dinner with FM - I'm hosting a business networking meeting at my place. A bit of a schedule conflict but we'll have to work SOMETHING out.

Motorcycle Riding Skills Test...

FAIL!

Yeah, not such a great idea to go to Dracula's Ball and be out until 2:30AM when I had to ride a Motorcycle for 4 hours then take a riding test!

On the plus side the Ball was awesome and I won a raffle and ended up winning an original artwork "To be created especially for me" by Ego Likeness founder / co-writer / Musician Steven Archer!

They might just pull it off with Boston's offense starting to fizzle again. We'll see how Leighton does in place of Boucher - tough break for him. His D has to learn to not clear the net by pushing the forward toward the net...

...having 3 people land on his knee was probably a bit too much.

Bike update

00:46 May 05 2010

So, as you may have seen I bought a motorcycle. I finally got a helmet and decided to take it for a spin last week.

Here's an important safety tip. Riding a motorcycle is NOT like riding a bicycle. You can't go 30 years without riding one and "take a spin"! The first day I took 5 or 6 runs up and down the alley behind the house and put it away before I killed myself!

On Sunday evening there was little to no traffic around so I gave it another go. I made it safely up to the High School parking lot around 1/4 mile from the house. I practiced starting, stopping, turning, shifting gears for about an hour and felt A LOT better!

This evening I was going to do the same, but there was a softball game so the lot was full. So I rode the 3 miles to our church and practiced in the lot there. The good thing there is that there is a big hill in the church lot, so I got to practice hill starts.

On the way home I got cut off 3 times, some dumb assed kid walked out in front of me and finally I got tailgated by a cop! Nevertherless, I made it home happy, safe and calm!

I'm going to ride ino work tomorrow and see how that goes!

I'm watching a documentary on American Nazis.

These are some messed up people!

Apparently the USA is being targeted with immigrants from all over the world in order to "dilute" the white race through "interbreeding". Of course, all this is being done at the direction of "The Jews", who will be able to impose their will on what remains of the white race once their "dilution" plan is complete.

Where the F#uck do they come up with this shit?

It really pisses me off that these asshats actually convince people of their theories and have thousands of followers.

We are heading out to visit our daughter Allie this weekend.

She and her fiance' just bought a house, so we rented a U-Haul to bring her all of her crap that wouldn't fit in their apartment that has been clogging up our basement and attic!
