Blah..blah..blah

Have spent most of today trying to get online, my internet shows working but no sites would load especially not VR. dang it! The company was a couple of blocks down the street so I was guessing they were up to something. Finally I just walked away and spent several hours playing an old game Arcanum on the computer. Not an online game or anything just a bit of mindless violence and fun. I tried a few minutes ago and it's working again and seems to be doing good so hopefully all will stay well.

We took my nephew Adam to Karate yesterday for his first lesson, they were aware of his condition and we know of another child even more severe than Adam who's enjoying it very much and Adam needs a physical outlet and this seems the best. Tomorrow he goes back for his second lesson and then will test for his white belt. lol I think it's going to be an easy test. I watched his first one and he did very good, responded well to the instructors and followed their directions pretty close. It was obvious that some of the multiple movements were a bit hard for him to follow he seemed to need to think them through before he could do it. But the instructor seemed to think he's teachable so we'll give it a go and see how it works out.

Awesome. The one sport I wish I had done when I was growing up.

Breaking my habit

I did something I've not done in a long time... I started a thread in the main forum. lol Yep it's been a while since I did more than read them or once in a blue moon comment in a thread.

But I remembered a teacher telling us of the day he learned JFK was murdered and how he left the school and walked home several miles completely forgetting his car was at the school.

It got me to thinking about 9-11 and the upcoming anniversary of the trade center attacks and I know clear as day everything that mattered to me that day both at work and when I got off duty coming home to sit with my family watching the news and praying for survivors to be found. The sheer shock of the attacks here and the insane waste of life just didn't make any sense and so was hard to wrap our minds around it.

So down in the sandbox I started a "Do you Remember?" thread to see what others do or do not remember about that day. With the differing ages on VR it ought to be interesting if folks will even bother to answer it down there. But it's sure to be more interesting than A-Z of something if they will try to answer.

Ah well I'll head to bed as the storms are getting worse and lightening hitting all around makes it a good time to shut down for the night. I'll look tomorrow and see if it's working.

Took 4 kids out today going door to door fundraising for their marching band. They're good kids but oh so very loud! lol

The good news is we got several maybe's and a couple of come pick up the check on Friday, yipee.

With times so hard we're trying to give businesses plenty of time to think about it as the money isn't actually due until September.

Now tonight going to a band supporters meeting to try and figure out what to do next. I hope more of the parents get involved this year as the kids are really working hard to learn a new program something called "gotham's villans" which is kind of dark and really fun for them.

Have you ever been in the situation where doing something to help someone who needs it, will end up causing them more grief? That's where I'm at right now and I'm plain sick at my stomach over it.

There is a person I know that needs a 2x4 up side the head several times to knock some sense to her.

Been there done that. Just know that your intention was honorable. Sometimes fate just reaches out and says, "Nope, not so fast. They haven't learned yet!"

hon, I learned a long time ago , you can't make someone except something or do something till they are ready to and if you try and make them it only makes them turn against and on you . its hard and it might hurt but all you can really do it wait and pray that they see the light soon.

I get more upset over the situation than the person I'm trying to help.
