It has been a cold wet day, and perhaps I should have never ventured out of the warmth of bed. Sometimes the state of the world makes me sad for no other reason than our flawed human morality. Surely, I am being melodramatic and the emo police will come for me soon. It always goes back to the same question though- why do we tolerate the behavior that we do?

cause it's for dozens of reasons all very psychological, going back to our youth and how we were raised, our cultural background, our sex/age, how the media has shaped us, our self esteem issues, if any, how much Samsonite we carry from dramas from parents, family, friends, and past relationships, religious viewpoints if at all, and..well...general fuct up-ness that we all have to some degree.

We tolerate the behavior that we do because we are humans. We are emotional beings and our hearts often overtake our minds.

It sounds like a bad thing..but is it really? I don't think so.

Hang in there...

It is the beauty of humanity. Without it, life would be dull. We have to take in the good with the bad, and fortunately the good always overcomes the bad. Youre one lucky woman, and blessed to no extent. Count your lucky stars and and when you feel troubled, look into the eyes of that whom you love..everything else should be insignificant in comparison and the problems of the world will go away and you will be happy again :)

Prank calls remind me of high school silliness. I don't think I've received one since then until today. Some Minx calls complaining about my dog being in her garden. I said no way in the world- my pup is staring at me right now. Must be someone else’s.

"Are you sure?" says the Minx.

"Pretty damn sure. Where do you live?"

"Belfast"

"You mother [edit]"

The charade is dropped, the laughter begins, and everything that followed was troublesome and bold. Beer, poles, cameras, rope, policemen, cab drivers, more beer and laughter, lucky charms, Photoshop, blackmail, coke, crates, Spaniards and more.

With any luck they'll survive the night in one piece.

Today was the first time we let our puppy stay out of her crate when we left. Normally we put her in there more for her own safety- gawd knows she'll eat any scrap of paper left out. So we closed the doors to the study, the bedroom, and the bathroom and then I sneaked out the back door. She immediately caught on to us and started barking and pressing her head to the window to watch us leave. I was so nervous to leave her alone... what if she ate something horrific that we missed while puppy proofing the house? What if she decided to get revenge by going to the bathroom in door? What if she killed the cat -very far fetched but still.

Seven tried to calm me down about the situation, but it didn't really help. Surely the pup was confused as to why she was out in the house while we were leaving.

When we pulled up to the house, she was standing on two feet to get her head to the window to peek at us. Apparently Seven was right- the dog was just fine. No accidents on the carpet. No furniture destroyed. The cat lived.

Our puppy is growing up.

The numbness is just a ramification from a stop off at the dentist. In theory they numb your mouth- in actuality it’s the whole left nasal cavity, cheek, and a twitch in the eye.

There are few things in this life that actually hold substance in the long run. As more time goes by, I am still constantly amazed at the depth and sincerity within a gaze. I know without a doubt or hesitation that I am blessed.

It is another sticky hot day in Idaho. We woke up this morning pretty early for a Saturday with the intent of running errands.

First came the Farmer’s Market, but it was a let down. Most of the booths had flowers or home made items that really did not interest me. After strolling around some we gave up on finding produce- that in hindsight I wonder what I was thinking its planting time not harvesting. It wasn’t a total strike out though. About a block down from the market we stopped off and got some yummy spinach and feta bread from Great Harvest that was to die for. I couldn’t wait to get home to smear some cream cheese on it gobble it up, but we weren’t done yet.

Hit the movie store for some flicks to entertain us tonight and tomorrow. We picked up Mad Money which look hilarious and then the Golden Compass (we will have to see if I come out of it an atheist lol).

It was early and the weather was still bearable, so Seven decide that we’d swing by the house and steal the mutt away for a good ol run in the park. That dog has so much energy- we let her loose and she ran circles around me. I love how her tongue hangs out while she bounces through the field- she looks incredibly happy.

But as I said, she runs circles around me and after 20 minutes we were back in the car driving around for some good steals at local garage sales. They were a disappointment though and we wound up with nothing since I’m not looking for baby clothes or old exercise equipment.

We went home and Seven decided to taunt the dog with the hose while I forged ahead in the battle against daffodils and other weeds.

By the time we went inside, we were overheated and starving. Turned on the fans, consumed bottle after bottle of sugar free fruit punch Kool-Aid, fixed the feta bread with cream cheese and sliced some pork tenderloin for a scrumptious meal, and plopped down on the couch to relax and recover from the morning activities.

I have been in a Fraggle Rock kick recently and watching the young scrappy fraggles remind me of the good clean silly times of childhood. The Muppets are quite wholesome and each episode has a moral worth learning. One of the episodes was about work ethic and picking the right job- grant it they have a 30 minute work week and being a fireman in a cave with no fires seems like a pretty chill job. Another one was about individuality where one of the fraggles imitated a different fraggle in hopes of being liked and valued more as a fraggle being- of course all of the fraggle friends missed the unique qualities of the imitator.

Are kids today getting the same type of entertainment that comes with morals and complete with catchy songs?

Captain Planet, Fraggles, Sesame street, Smurfs- I miss the old cartoon characters and everything they stood for. Our norms and values have changed, and I'm not sure if it is for the better. Luckily I can get all three seasons of Fraggle Rock from Netflix and I am sure the same can be said for the other old school shows.

I like new and old ones but I don't think children get the morality of their messages, if they get them they lose them when they start to listen to music lyrics full of violence and hate that many of the music of today represents.

I don't think the cartoons these days have any messages at all. I mean, Ed, Edd and Eddie hauling a tree in a wagon across the neighborhood so that no one but them can touch 'base' doesn't strike me as particularly educational, morally or otherwise. It's funny, it's stupid, it makes even me laugh, but morals...nope, I think they checked those at the door to the studio.

It's 4:59am and I have yet to sleep.

~Bangs my head on the desk~

Why can't I just sleep like a normal human being? I hate that every time I get inebriated, I cannot fall asleep (like tonight) or I wake up after an hour of sleep and am wide awake. I'm a just getting to old to be drinking? Does my liver secretly hate my brain or vice versa? It’s not fair. Everyone else the house is curled up in bed or in their respective sleeping cubbyholes and I'm sitting here, typing away, hoping to become tired.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

LOL Sinora! One thing Meeper, wine is a stimulant and whilst initially it makes you sleep because of the sugars you are constantly awakened during sleep. The only reason I know this is because I had the same difficulty ~ there is noting I like more than relaxing at night before bedtime with a chilled class of sauvignon or a classy Merlot.. ces la vie!
