The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I gave this movie a 3. If not for Eddie Murphy, I would've given it a -1.

I'll be kinder than my prince here and toss it a five. The play between Eddie Murphy and Kadeem Hardison (Murphy's ghoul), is great. Angela Bassett saved a lot of the movie with her class alone. But moreover, this was the movie where Eddie Murphy perfected his multi-role performances that he employed in The Nutty Professor movies. (They were debuted in Coming to America but they were so good, no one realized that Eddie and Arsenio were actually in extra roles under the makeup.)



Perhaps you have to be an Eddie Murphy fan to really dig this movie. Let on it's merits as a vampire movie, it does falter. Had it been anyone else acting in the role, I agree, it would have really stunk.

Nothing to crave about in this movie and it went south. I don’t believe that Eddy Murphy would have taken this part but then again in Haunted Mansion he was no better. What happens if we spliced Vampire in Brooklyn with the Haunted Mansion…. We would get a vampire with a haunted casket? Or a mansion with bats in the attic, both would make a better story line then this movie. Do not and I repeat do not bother with this movie, the story was weak, the acting was horrific and West Craven went south. Buy something for you mother instead, maybe some flowers or something but not this.

see it just so you can say you saw it, if you havent seen it then you havent missed anything.

it was cheesy, yes, but there were parts that were funny. "satan is good!". and eddie murphy was sexy in it. ;) i like slow sexy. :P
