Please keep in mind I designed the system to be effective, yet simple. Some features were excluded by design.

The forum is an excellant, unocomplicated easy to follow system Cancer, well done.. I wish other organizations would adapt to the same system.

i finally made it the very first thread...

LOL the first thread on the site, "Jun 25 2004 Times viewed: 80"

It's kind of funny to see that it was only viewed 80 times, porbably before it fell of the front page and no one saw it again. To know exactly what the forum was like back when VR began *ponders*

What's even funnier is going back and reading the old threads which I do, how many differnt times the subject of bad 'non on site topic' threads there were.

i think you have done a great job,iam new and still learning kind of jump the gun before really looking but hey i have learned. i will look futher before jumping

this forum is good, uve done a good job with it.

I'll have to write that down, i'm always thinknig of enhancements, but i'm too much of a perfectionist to ever think, hey, thats a good one!.. I think the forums run nicely, if it ain't broke!! Jason* i have a question for you, how do you get rid of the fish smell? *grins*

Jason, thanks. You are so helpful. There are so many threads and not everyone is perfect like they may claim. We all make mistakes. I like the forum for the most part. It is a good place to express yourself. But I have seen so many times people being condemned or critiqued for expressing themselves. All I can say to those types of people is that you cannot expect everyone to be perfect in what they say in a forum post. You cannot control people. So, smile and live and let die. It is more refreshing to see people being nice to one another.

Getting back on topic...the major suggestion I would make for a change the forums would be to add a section for "Off topic discussion." Something like this might contain the fluff to a specific place and we wouldn't have to wade through prattle to get to the good stuff.

Just an idea.

Threads are moved all the time.

I will not defend closures, as all closures are subjective and there will never be total agreement among the membership. If you want to get rid of closures I will have to make the Forum 100% moderated, where all posts must first be approved by an Administrator prior to being posted.

And I really don't want to add a 5th category. We have a few sandbox threads....

Just a thought, upon voting in an open poll, which then flips you to the entire poll page to see results, any chance we could see the results right after the vote on the page we were on? If not I will happily keep looking through all polls to see results, no complaints here. :)

Well, the poll section needs a lot of work. That's one of the things I was going to update.. Eventually.

I think the best feature the Forum now has is the site search, just about anything you can think of that you relate to a vampire site links you to a thread post, as well as the posts of different people, and I think it's set up great in that it doesn't just search the titles but the word. You have the options to search the forum alone or other parts of the site .. for example researching the word brought up 399 different posts/threads containing the word blood ...

Most forums are real messy and scrappy. But this one is by the far the best. Its tidy and simple to use. Easy to find your way around.
