Do you have a recurring dream? What is it?

Recurring dreams are usually a bad sign. It means there is something in your life you are ignoring or not paying proper attention to.

You should fully evaluate what the dream means to you and then work on that area of your life.

Ok, now I am scared.... *giggle*

I had my aura cleansed, and got a reading. She was a past lift specialist. Long story short, my recurring dream is circa 1880. I am in a bank; it gets robbed, and I am shot in the back. It can feel the bullets, and feel myself bleeding to death.

Anyone care to help me on this one?? I have the dream for over 15 years.

I often hesitate when asked to perform dream analysis for another person. I believe the only one that can correctly analyze your dreams is you. Dreams contain many feelings and emotions, and people have a hard time conveying those feelings. As a result, it is difficult for a third party to produce an accurate analysis.

That being said....

If it was me, the bank would represent a stronghold or something I was looking to protect. Something vital in my life. The robbery would represent the loss of that object. Being shot in the back represents betrayal by someone close to you. This person would have facilitated the loss. And the onset of death would represent just how vital the object was to my continued existence.

If the dream is recurring I would hesitate to assume it was a glimpse into a past life. Although this may be the case, it is much more likely there is something in your life right now that is threatened. The fact that it has been happening for 15+ years leads me to believe it is more of a concept or situation that is threatened versus an actual object.

As a further example, I had a recurring dream for approximately 11 years. Between the ages of 5 and 16 a singular dream plagued me weekly. I finally took care of the situation (an emotionally abusive parent) and the dream has not returned to this day.

never have a recurring dream but i have a women in balck whos in every dream ive had since i was 15.. if anyone could be of some help and tell me what she is or stands for id be soo happy

I don't have recurring dreams..but I do have premonitions in my sleep..two of which were major disasters and in which many people died.

I have 4 recurring dreams. Have had them all my life that I can remember. One of them is in my profile.

They've become such old familiarities that I have named them, lol. The one in my profile is the bone dream, there are also the fire dream, becoming and the garden.

I may post the others. I may not. c'est la vie.

Ive had several recurring dreams that have managed to dissapate over the years (like i have a whole lot of em to begin with, years that is). But there is one that has managed to stick around for a while..... it loses me on meaning though... here it is in case anyone is curious...

Im in my old neighborhood... Ive lived there for 21 of my 24 years. And this hill all of us kids go sledding on... well its summer time but this is where the dream takes place. We're all standing there. My best friend, Jason (little brother), several sets of siblings in the neighborhood ect... 'bout 10 tops. Nice, sunny day. Mood was good. Typical "Ok.. so what are we gonna do today?" aire to it... There is a magnolia tree up the street... I can smell it over the mimosa tree behind me.
And all the sudden, slowly... the neighborhood fills up with water. But anyway flash flood will show you that the water is muddy when it does that but it wasnt in my dream. The water fills the neighborhood.. stays crystal clear mind you... I have no feeling of dread or anything... i react as though it is perfectly normal. I look around and Im swimming in this water. Like, UNDER the water like a mermaid. Im BREATHING this water. Swimin' 'round...over the trees... like i was flying but i could feel myself surrounded by water. Kinda like that movie "In dreams". Whole town under water and all.... very strange... i get to a highpoint in the neighborhood and i walk out of the water onto the street...and everyone has come out of their homes and is absolutly terrified of the water... like rats on a sinking ship. Huddled masses and all,.... and I wake up. Had that one since i was about 12.

I use to have one of a delicate white heard encircled in thorns. It would pulsate, as if alive, then start to melt. It was like the old flip-book pictures shows you'd play at penny arcades long ago. It would 'skip' and restart, or go backwards, etc.
After I cast aside my last lover, the dream disappeared.
Good riddance.

i had the same dream every night for 7 days... but it was in my childhood.
i was playing with my stepbrother in my room. we had something like a column with fire on it (like those old greek or roman columns...a bit like the olympic flame *g*) in my room (only in my dream!). while we were playing we pushed it and it fell. then my room began to burn. i ran out of the house and the fire was right behind me. i ran along the street and the fire followed me in a line... but every time i dreamt that the fire got me at the end.

i have several recurring elements of dreams, they are not always 100% the same but the same things happen and in usualy the same settings.i wont go into detail, but the first dream i am always on a boat or at least out at sea, and i feel as if something is watching me, sometimes my family is there other times not, but i always go under water and there are hundreads of sharks, and they dont go for me directly but i have a sense that they are eventualy going to attack its just a matter of waiting.

the second is i will be at home or i will be near my home and someone will take something from me or from my house and i will start to chase them, but no matter how hard i run i feel like im running through water, so i go to all 4s, like running on hands and legs and i speed up and i chase the person down, usualy i get what i was after but sometimes i wake up before i catch them.

My Recurring dream was..
when i was around 6 through 11,
i would be walking through a maze of toothpicks ( columns ),as i neared the end of the maze,i began to hear a ticking( as from a clock )..when i turn the corner of the end of this maze. I would see a statue resembling a budda..he is holding a chest with the lid closed..as i walk towards the budda.the ticking grows louder..I open the chest and it explodes....usualy the last few minutes of this dream i am awake.....weird huh..!!??

I cant say I've ever had a recurring dream, but I do dream into the future. Many people I've met and places I've been I've dreamt of before. It started happening when I was about 12 and in a bad car accident, in which I was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. As I sit infront of the computer, obviously I was revived, but since that day I have dreamt as much as 2yrs into the future. I used to brush them off, but now they are the only dreams that I ever remember when I awake. I heed their warning now, and sometimes use the knowledge I gain from them to my advantage. I'm in the process of trying to control them but at the present time I can not unfortunately. Any advice or similar instances would be interesting to hear about.

Some dreames return to me after years. But only once or twice...

There's this one recurring dream that I've had ever since I can remember. I'm in this room surrounded by mirrors and the surfaces are completely black as if someone had painted over them. Then all of a sudden as I'm looking around trying to figure out where the hell I am I feel someone's hand on my shoulder and I immediately turn around. When I turn I see a man, but it's kind of hard to tell what he looks like, almost as if there's a fog over his features so I deliberately can't tell what he looks like when everything else in the dream is pretty damn clear. All I can tell is that his features are dark and his swathed in black clothing. Then the mirrors light up and a different image is projected on each of them and the funny thing is that they're all of me at different stages of my life, most of which I had yet to reach and wouldn't for quite some time. Sometime as I was gazing upon all the different images, he comes to stand in front and off to the side of me and spreads his arms, gesturing to the images all around him and simply says 'Pick one'. I give him this questioning look like he's more then half crazy and look around me again, then when I look back at him with a confused glint in my eyes he simply gestures around him again and says the same thing. I'm not all too sure if he even says this second part out loud, but somehow I get the impression that I'm supposed to pick a certain time in my life that I'd like most. It's almost as if he tells me this mentally, so finally understanding what he means I turn back around and closely scrutinize each image and without a real thought I almost carelessly pick one. Then I look back over at him and he has this almost evil yet mischievous grin on his face and says 'Done'. Then I look back over at the images and they've all become foggy, with swirls of black, almost as if they're smoking, but without the smoke. Almost immediately I look back over to where he was previously standing and he's no longer there. Then I look back toward the mirrors and they too are gone, leaving me in utter darkness, just a black void. That's when I finally wake up with the same sense every time, a knowledge that was almost an afterthought in my dream. I somehow knew that the image that I had chosen was when he or rather they would come for me. I've had this dream since I was a small child and even then I saw myself as I am now, or mostly as I am now, and I'm almost exactly the same as I was in that image, but I also look very different now then I did as a child. The time that I picked was around this exact time in my life and I stopped having this dream for a few years, but then recently it came back to me, all the more powerful, reoccurring almost nightly. They remained as a constant for years and then for some reason one night they just stopped altogether, but now years later, they're back and more frequent then ever. Damn that was a long ass description and I even shortened it. Sorry if it’s too long, I simply couldn’t help it. ::Grins::

For some odd reason, i harldy ever dream myself. When i do, it's usually about people that I have some sort of connection to.

One of the other recurring dreams i have had since I was very small:


I am walking in a garden, my garden, and all the plantings are dead. He herbs, brown and lifeless, the roses and flowering vines, crackling and denuded of even dead blooms, the trees and ornamentals, skeletal.

It makes me cry, and I reach out to touch one of the climbing roses and i gouge my finger on accident, bleeding into the soil at its base.

Almost immediately a dry hissing noise begins and the dead leaves on first the climbing rose then all the other plants, start to fall off, and new growth begins. It happens all around me, and the garden is restored, fruits on the trees, flowers, fragrant herbs.

I love this dream.

I don't really have any reoccuring dreams, what I have started to do though, is keeping a pen and paper next to my bed at night, so when i wake up screaming ( happens alot ) i can write down a few of the things that I remember about the dream. What I was feeling, who i was hurting, who was hurting me, if my children were in it, what ever i think may be relevent. Then when I do my daily mediation, i mediate on the things from the night before, and more times than not it brings clearity of a situation I've put myself in and what i need to do to get out of it.
