I remembered this when I was reading DB's post on near death experiences. I can't remember when I heard this from, but I have heard that in this life time each one of us are given three different times for our soul to either choose to stay in its body to live the life of the living.. or to be taken away and phyically die, but live on the " otherside". (for lack of a better word I'll use that)
What do you guys think??
I have bounced this around in my head for awhile and it does explain somethings for me, and sometimes I think its absurd.
Kind of like a cat having 9 lives? I could see that... But I think when its your time to go you go, if you want to or not. I don't think we get a choice in it.
That's fuuny you brought that up. Last year I was swimming in a flooded creek,I know not to smart. Anywho I jumped in and the current grabed my ass and The next thing I know I'm being swept away down the creek bed, It's really a small river. But as I was going along scarred shitless I was thinking I was going to die then I was sucked under a bunch of fallin trees, under water and pushed against the wall of trees thinking no I don't want to die yet, Of course it was a loty more intense than what it sounds. Then the bottom tree gave way and I went throu and After about half a football field I grabbed some hanging tree limes and tugged my fat ass to shore. Maybe that was life chance #1?
If that's the case then I guess I've proven that theroy wrong ... see my post in near death thread ... unless the next time I go under the knife and my heart stops, then I guess that is my final time :^*
Ahhh shit.
I've already had TWO heart attacks.
Looks like SOMEONE is screwed.
:: evil snicker ::
These are the things that make me question this.. Then I wonder if its different with every person. Like some get 3 choices, some are just bound to here.. or are some just shit outta luck.. lol
I have read some of Sylvia Browne books and she says that each of us make a life chart before we are brought into this world as children. She also says that we have certian "exit" points that we choose. I agree with some of what her books tell but not all.
hey, are you thinking of walkins where souls leave and another takes its place
????????????????
I hope its more 1 swing your out of here not really a firm believer in second chances (or thirds lol) but hey what does it 4 you does it 4 you :-)
Maybe some of us have just been around too long. I have been run over by an 8 ton truck, hit by 21 cars, and hit by a boat. That is just on foot or bicycle not counting motorized accident.
Perhaps if your line of reasoning is true then I do not have a choice I am here no matter what?
I always like the line my dad used to use-"she's already dead, she just ain't got the sense to lay down yet..."
I don't know.. seems to me you hear about some people who by all means should be dead, and still somehow manage to live....
There was a guy near my house who got tore up with a machette... when they got to him he had limbs falling off...
The police men were barfing because then they tried to lift him onto the stretcher different parts would fall off...
There was no way this kids boyd should have been able to survive that, but he's hanging on...
So maybe we do have choices, but everyone has their own amount of chances...
Never heard of this but it is an interesting idea. After the 3rd of my 10 surgeries I awoke in the recovery room 12 hours to soon. I was still unable to move anything and freaked out. The breathing tube was still in and to make a long story short came close to a rock n roll death.
yeah, it's an interesting thaught, if you look at it as a metaphore. I believe that there is a personal "counting" for each and every one of us. Or I'd be dead already...many times, to be honest.
If it was possibile I would choose to vanish forever but I guess it's impossible:/
it is an interesting theory but i think that when its time to go youll go
Yeah, it does sound rather odd to me. I cannot think fo any experiences so far... but mybe we aren't meant to know.
Can anyone think of points in their life when they have felt like this? I have fet my soul is at unease, but never anything like that...
Yes a lot of times when I sleep.
Also this theory might explain what happens when in coma when a lot of people say they see darkness then a light...
Thats a good point, I hadn't really considered those states...
i believe that we have no choice in the matter if it is our time to die than we shall die we have no choice in the matter and i don't think we have more than one life if we die that is it and the rest is blank.
I learned quite awhile ago, that it was 5 exit points that we are alloted. I tend to go with that more. And someone mentioned walk-ins, and I have read about those as well. I believe that to be valid as well.
I believe that our soul will send us on our way, when our soul's work is finished here, with whatever we are here to do. It sure doesn't seem so, sometimes, though, to the ones left behind.
I believe that before we are born, we plan our life, to a certain extent, with the major lessons in life, mapped out, and that we make contracts, with other souls, to help each other learn our lessons and grow/advance spiritually. That is why we cannot take what happens to us, personally, from another, because they are fulfilling their contract, unknown to you both much of the time, to become who each of you are to be. We learn from these experiences, whether we realize it or not.
hmmm.... maybe you should start watching 'Medical Incredible'... lots of amazing survival stories...
and we all know someone who has survived something they shouldn't have, and joke about angels watching after them or it just not being their time yet...
and just for kicks, think about this... the body ~does~ die eventually. Every body that exists eventually dies. it's inevitable - but where does the soul go? there are options - ghosts, reincarnation, heaven, hell, purgatory, and probably a number of options i've missed...
I have also heard of the "three strikes and you're dead" thing, but I know for a fact that it's a bunch of malarky. Between the ages of 14 and 19, I have attempted suicide....... lemme think..... about 10 times, maybe more. And obviously I'm not dead, because hell has dial-up, and I'd still be waiting for this page to load!
Jamie's post is more along the lines that I am with. When my dad got killed and left us behind, the last 3 months of his life were very unusual like he had an intuition that he was going. Things he said and did were strange that we didn't notice until after his death. The most odd instance was 1 week before his death are family was sitting around talking about the things my dad has done and my mother mentioned that his life circle was complete. 1 week later he was dead.
I just want to add a little something to this thread..
Two summers back, I took my neighbours kids to the beach. The older teenager was meant to be watching them when they went down to the edge of the sea to clamber on the rocks.
I busied myself tying up their clothes and when I looked around I noticed the two elder girls on the rocks but couldnt see the little 4 year old. My heart sank and I knew something was terribly wrong and I raced down to the water edge to see the little girl floating face down on top of the water.
She was drowning, or drowned and when I went in to get her I had to swim a few strokes. Anyway.. I did get her out, hung her by her ankles, slapped her back and the water came out of her lungs. She cried like a new born baby.
Anyway, the reason why I am telling you all this, is because two years later on we were walking on the beach and she said, " I hope I dont fall into a pool again, everything turns black and I get scared until the light comes again"
This proves to me that this mere child experienced a death and came back.. I am so glad I got to her in time. Eerie stuff *shivers*
Ii have a litlle insight on this subject first hand.
Two years ago Ii was stationed in Ft. Bennign georgia, about to be shipped off to South Korea. I recieved these orders two days before Bush declared war. Hanging out in the barracks, I ijoked with some of the guys in our unit that since we were going to South Korea, I knew we were going to go to Bagdhad.
That night I had a dream that a goat was sitting on my bed and my computer screen was flashing images of war. I knew that if Ii went, I wouldn;t be comming back. Ii was being given the choice to stay or go.
Once I awoke I began my training as usual, but with the thought of that damn goat in the back of my mind. Long story short Ii got a medical discharge two days before Ii was to leave. I knew then that Ii had made the choice to stay. The day after my unit shipped to S. Korea, they came under heavy fire and we lost seven guys. I know that if I had went I would have been number eight. The humvee whit my rack mate was hit with a mortar. I would have been gone.
But I can't be for sure that 3 is all we get. I've used two, and don't see my demise anytime soon. But that could just be ignorance on my part.
ah no, cuz for me it has already been ove 3 times oh well its me
I've never heard of this either but i think maybe it would depend on how u died....idk though... ????
If that is true, then i better we wicked careful from here on out!!! Not that i will be though, not exactly known for craving life over death. I nearly died at 9 months old from a severe reaction to eggs that caused me to go into anaphlactic shock as well as develop hives inside as well as outside my body. Then I had a near fatal car accident in 1998 that left me in a coma for 5 days only to recover and learn that it also left me without hearing in my left ear, my knee cap no longer connected on my right leg and my ankle tendons and ligaments destroyed on the same leg.
i found that really interesting very acurate too. true very informative aswell. love to read all this and give my opinion.
Thanks everyone for posting.
I am going to say tho if I see another person posting on here just to get thier forum posts up, I am closing the thread.
Read it and give an OPINION people. Don't just post on it because you want to go higher.
If this is true why would some souls choose to stay? For instance soldiers with all thier limbs blown off, or stroke victims that are effectivelly vegatables for the rest of thier lives?
eh i belive in something kinda like that..but more as you are put on this earth for ONE thing and if you dont acomplish that ONE thing then you have to come back and redo life over and over agian untill you acomplish what your destined to do..from the very begining...
I read alot of intresting point's. I myself came near death, once. my friends not so lucky. The wierd thing was the same car, we were in was demolished. It haunted me for weeks. Why them and not me. All I have left to remind me is a bad scar on my right calf. And the thout of when will it be my time, and how.
My dear i can not say that it is or not only say that times suicide, and more car accidents then i can count and almost shot three times once while i was sleeping went throught the couch at my head so i am not sure wether that disproves it but there is so much more i can not even begin to list......
i dont know...what you say sounds possible but im not sure...i would like to think that once its your time its your time...but what you say could in fact be possible...
people are going to believe what they believe no matter how much people tell them different. I think that life is a gift and in this lifetime we are given a path and we can either go down the one the gods set out for us or we can take our own. if we mess it up then we must repeat our life over again until we get it right. we do choose our own destiny the goddess just sets us down in front of the right way. I believe in reincarnation. I don't believe that we know the meaning of the other side. I believe that once we die that if we do finish our true path of destiny that we go on the the summerland.
in my opinion i think it has to do with it either being your time to go or not...if its your time, no matter how hard you fight it, your going to go...
and if its not your time, well then your here to stay until your life at the time is ready to move on to the next life
kind of gives credence to guardian beings be they angels or whatever-but I believe there is a time and a place for everything, and if it ain't your time...
There can be some truth to that. But my sister has nearly died 4 times now and she is still here. So that can't be completly true. I myself have has 3. So by that standard I should be dead... or my next experience would lead to my death. So I think I'm going to go with the theory that when it's your time to die, it is your time and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
well i hope its true, id like to see other ways of living.
This in interesting stuff. Am gonna go look it up and find some more info on it.
Aside from personal experiences my Dad has been electrocuted twice. The first time he had to have his heart restarted. The second time he was found walking around in a daze with no idea what had happened. He if anything like this happened to him he has never mentioned it.
octavia a cat has nine lives is an expression and the fact is if your already dead then you don't have any other choice unless you chose to drive a staek through your heart if you have 1 or you just can't die
interesting theory.
I already used by three chances before i was four.
there better be more chanes than that.
i agree that when it is time for someone to go, it is time for them to go, as sad as it may be.
i agree as a teenager ive only had a near death experince one but im sure the next two times are just around the corner
As I had said one more.. post to just up thier status and I am closing it.
Sorry Folks!
