Do you believe that Erzse'bet Ba'thory was treated fairly by her prison sentence?
You mean by being bricked in? Well whether or not she can be considered a vampire is irrelevant, she butchered a lot of young virgins. But since I am a bad guy, she should have gotten away with it.
Well yes they could have especially in those days, instead she was imprisoned in her castle. She died four years later.
I personally thought that she was innocent. A lot was happening with power struggles and all that, so for all we know she could have been framed. I know they could have done worse, but I feel that there are a lot of unanswered questions around all the murders and such.
can blame a girl for trying - the surely could have done much worse though the mental anguish of being cut of from what she considered her life source may have been a hell in and of itself
Apparently she was not working alone, a few others helped her do the killings and while the victims were supposed to be well over a few hundred, she was only charged on 80 counts which even today would easily give a death penalty but there was no trial, she was just bricked in.
i think she got it easy for what she did murdering all those girls
I think she was treated fairly, all those girls she murdered had families, and she was delusional to think that their blood made her look younger.
I think her punishment was just.
Imagine being closed off in a dark place with only your mind to keep you occupied. If superstitious... Imagine the mind playing tricks on you. Being haunted by your victims, encased in darkness, forced into solitude.
The mind is a wondrous thing- it could be one's escape or one's demise. I believe it ultimately became the latter for her.
She didn't consider such things as fairness for her victims...
She only got caught because she switched to Nobel victims, after peasent victims became scarce, personally I think her title kept her from getting a hanging sentence.
Heh same thing happens today, celebrities and entitled people get off lightly compared to the average joe.
She got lucky really, I think back then they still burned people at the stake, she just got locked in her cushy castle.
I watched a movie about Erze'bet Ba'thory on Netflix and if the movie is a true documentation of what happened then I believe that she was framed and did not deserve to be locked away in her castle but then again, the movie was kind of confusing
getting bricked up seems abit much.but im opposed to the death penalty anyway.we dont know if she was innoscent.execution is a form of legalised murder.
life death its all anagorical. I would like to comment on the statement "and she was delusional to think that their blood made her look younger." there is a very good article in the data base on here that suggest she was way ahead of her time medicaly.... might could have used a less offenceive extraction technique. anyway i posted the link to this article for those interested for easy access

Most of what is stated about Elizabeth Bathory is mere gossip and what could be called urban legend. Some of it was started by one particular writer after her death. No one thought of her as a vampire then and now it is just the thing to say about those supposedly associated to lots of blood.
I did a long research on her and wrote an article a few years ago. She was never tried for anything but she was imprisoned in her own rooms to keep her from doing anything further by her family. She ran away once initially but was brought back. She couldn't be tried at that time because of the laws that forbid it because she was aristocracy. She had some very powerful family members because they knew they were after her lands and money.
There is no real facts that the thing with the skin happened. She was a sadist and it was common for some of the aristocracy to abuse their servants which were mostly young and female. It was stated her Aunt was a Lesbian and she would visit her often. There were young women there as well. I didn't find anything specific about their activities together though.
There was nothing in the testimony of her cohorts that actually were arrested of her ever bathing in blood period. There was a lot of blood about because she loved torturing these girls and some of them very young and some still alive in holding cells when they came to the castle. She threw one girl outside naked into the freezing cold and threw water on her and beat her with what they called a cudgel. It is sort of like being beaten with a nightstick. She sold some property for money to buy more things to create even harsher implements of torture. This lady was no innocent. She got off on torturing these girls. It wasn't her idea to take girls from aristocratic families. I believe they thought these people would say nothing since they merely had old titles but no money. Unfortunately who they were retained value so they had some clout and this was what brought all of them down. She literally starved herself to death. Haven't read anything further to state otherwise. She was found dead in her room with plates of food never eaten. She may have poisoned herself but I couldn't find that referenced in anything I was able to find.
all of this information is very interesting i myself find her interesting and do think she got off easy with everything she did or was said to have done and i have actually added a member page about her
AsphaltTears has it as correctly as you may find nowadays. Much of it was mere gossip and exaggeration, of course.
On a side note, where the hell did Erzse'bet Ba'thory come from? That seems like a load of crap from a demonic website trying to be cool.
