All species of creation has abilities some more than others. I'm interested in seeing what abilities everyone has and how you came about knowing you had such abilities.I'd have to say out of all my abilities my seeing or oracle abilities are my oldest and most dominate ability. My grandmother had this ability and i have also for as long as I can remember not sure when or how it started just always been there.

I have no more or no less ability than anyone else on the planet.

I think everyone has a special ability, they just have a misconsception about what an ability is and don't always discover it when they are young

I agree so many young people I work with have such great skills and abilities that they just haven't tapped into. It's a shame mankind has come to such an enslaved existens that our children are not being taught their heritages. Along with your bloodlines also travel inate abilities and if your parents arent there to teach u these you may never have a clue.

I have always had a way with animals. And if there is an open flame around it often reflects my mood. *shrugs* and reading people is easy for me.

Interesting another animal empath. Seems we have some of the same abilities. Are you doing anything within that spectrum to enhance that ability for instance I train horses mainly but some other animals also it helps me to hone the ability.

I do not really. I'm good with cats, reptiles, horses, and most dogs. They see me as a dominate and generally come to me with little to no problem. Some times though when I am in a sour mood they avoid me. But I have always had a knack for felines.

Probably should not say this, but what the hell. I can communicte with most animals, dogs, cats, birds, horses, cows, sheep. not with invertebrates. People are easy to read and even manipulate. Oh yes, you high powered folks like that.How do I know? I was questioned by a traveller in New Zealand who was anxious about the plight of the whales and fish in Antartica...

Do you consider being good with pointy objects (I.e. Swords, knives, needles, etc.....) an ability. If so that is one for me.

(1.) i am an empath
(2.) I have the gift of healing

I been struck my lightning once,
and keep getting shocked by wall plugs.
And when I'm really angry,or sad-angry..
I always seem to zap myself with static,
and these strange flashes or pinkish
orbs zap around me at times.
I can pick things up,using my hands and feet,
without actually using fingers and toes, sometimes.
I can feel a static cling.
I can also use this to make people i don't
like pass out, by being super close to them,
and let it come out to them..(charge) or (energy).
I donno what it's all about..

Chi work.. You seem to have a nature affinity for it. ^ It usually takes a while for some to master it. Lightning chi, specifically.

My abilities are too many. Most I've always had with me and honed over the years.

So very true many dont understand wanting proof only dilutes a persons abilities. funny how the christians believe on faith alone while really haveing seen nothing while those that have seen want reassurance of proof....somany good post to reply to not sure where to start. glad to see so many healers and seers we will need that to complete the assention.... yes weapontry is an ability one not so easily aquired one i have also it dates back in mythology to when aries first gave mankind weapons... I am vampire so i know how energy abilities are quite hard to process there are a number of documents out there to help with advanceing that ability.

I find it interesting that those whole believe in "abilities" are so ready to accept all claims as valid, surely no one is that naive.

Naturally noone excepts anything anyone says at face value anymore but also much like when someone applies for a job we dont discourage them by starting off doubting their skills . Our purpose here is suppose to be to encourage growth of all kinds to discourge this possible growth with doubt would be an awdasity to everything we were created for. so i for one encourage people to explore things about them selves others would think as rediculous. I mean really with out the evolution of mankinds very essence wouldn't it be a pretty dull place to exist.

There is nothing evolved about alleged gifts, it is the same old claims that have been presented throughout history and yet they show no contribution to anything. What I am saying is it has nothing to do with how many people declare themselves gifted, it has to do with how many people apply those gifts, so it stands to reason that if one sees no fruit from people that claim such gifts, than such gifts don't exist.

Dabbler wasn't insulting anyone. He was pointing out what so many here are equally frustrating by: "true believers" getting all upset should anyone dare to ask for evidence when extraordinary claims are made. And, as is always the case when this happens, it is the "true believers" who become truly insulting and threatening.

None of us skeptics have any problem with anyone making any claim they like; that is and always has been anyone's right to do. However, to demand... as "true believers" always do... that we not be permitted the equal right to ask for evidences or to question to any degree such claims is directly infringing on our rights to same self expression... not to mention encouraging any and all charlatans and con artists to deceive any and all here.

Great discussion guys for those who don't know me my educational background is in Law so for me debate is awsome. Although the sckeptic viewpoint is not mine I do have to agree with some of it's asspects. very nice point dabbler made about, and excuse me if i misquote. "the gifts not being used and therefore null or something to that point . This is very true and relates to a number of other things not only abilities. The best thing about differences of oppinions is it always keeps an educated mine contemplateing for it is when we stop contemplatation that we truely become ignorant even if that ignorance is only of other peoples oppinions. I really do hate forum discussions because the english language can be misenturputed whereas the combination of language , body and voice leave little to need inturputed. Great post one and all i look forward to many more good debates.

My point was that there is no demonstration from the ranks of people that claim extraordinary abilities. There has been no pioneers to this date that have made advancements of any kind .

The original question asks what abilities do we have, not that we have to PROVE what they are.

One must understand, when one has based ones whole live in a faith. a faith often passed down by generations, it is very very painful to admit being wrong.

Disrespect goes both ways here- but we have to remember that people are allowed to disagree in our forum. If they couldn't, there's no use in the forum. No one is flaming anyone here- people are just standing their ground, so all is well. I don't want the thread halted because an opposing view felt they couldn't speak. I don't see any lines being crossed - and we never step in for people getting 'close'- we're black and white with rules.

On topic, as for me...when I see threads like these- all I can think of is the conversation we often have at home about: "If you had a superpower, what would it be?" ...we then speak in terms of Marvel or DC comics. I personally don't believe in supernatural claims. I believe in natural claims. My abilities are beautifully human. I'm here on Vampire Rave because I love creativity as a writer- and vampires in fiction are chock-full of creative renderings.

As for abilities in terms of how we speak of them in my home- if I had one, I guess I would take on the abilities of Storm from X-Men:

Weather manipulation,
Flight,
Energy perception,
Ecological empathy,
Resistance to the effects of the weather and extreme temperatures,
Latent natural magic abilities,
Resistance to telepathy

This is totally relevant, because The Dark Network encompasses more than vampires- it encompasses our Power Punks site :)

It would be remarkable if there where any accredited institutes opened by those that claim that such abilities exist institutes that researched, and experimented these alleged abilities, then perhaps those with said abilities, and gifts could start utilizing their abilities to benefit humanity. Wouldn't it be something to see how those with abilities performed against the established medical field? Imagine what other fields would open, if those with abilities applied themselves.

excelent point dabbler there actually was a place like that in the early 80's and the military suppossedly seized it and all its work I'll try to find some info on it to post for those interested. this page talks about the earlier information and soviet studies but there is one outlineing the one here in dallas that i was a member of some where I'll try to find it also.

All of these things-such as abilities, vamps, witches, etc. have only recently starting becoming something of the public. In the past, people were burned for their "abilities" because most were afraid of them and thought that they were evil.
Proof for these things is undoubtably being sought out, but any scientific or government research will be held from the public. (Of course)
They may give us little bits and pieces of it, but never anything to actually prove or disprove. Just like aliens can never really be proved.

I've noticed I'm able to see things, like Ghost or here spirits. Every member in my family can. we also have dreams that later on happen. Also a few members in my family have abnormal strength without working out. I myself have this. I'm way stronger than I should be. Also we are really good at seeing in the dark. I mean complete darkness. We've even had people say we were just like Vampires

I posses the ability to trigger distress, and instability in people with cluttered, and unfiltered minds. The effected person loses focus, pose, and verbal cadence.

I have the ability to roll my eyes at people who think they have control over others because their EGO is too big.

Anyway, in attachment to things posted while I was away, one is no one acturally willing shares our gifts because of ridicule, speculation, and in general just lack of acceptance. Two is skepticism is good but so is open-mindedness. If a person goes to every thing believing that it is all a lie we will surely get no where. Three, the drama I read on here is hilarious. This site should be a reality TV show some times.

that said i feel i have a few traits that are unusual, but may just be a personal trait rather than anything to do with my nature....you can decide for yourself.

i have always been on the slender side...but im told by my friends i seem far stronger than a man of my build should be.

i can outrun anyone i know in my general age group...both in speed and distance

i heal faster than anyone i know. two weeks ago, my arm was torn by a dogs claws (long story) deep enough to require stitches...i chose not to bother with them, and now there is only a red mark there. 10 years ago when i first was on the fire dept, i got a third degree burn on my leg. the doctors at the hospital where i was treated first thought i would need skin grafts. a week after my initial abraiding/cleaning they were amazed and took alot of photos of my burn. they claimed they had never seen anything like it.

my sense of smell is disturbing to some. i can tell when a woman is aroused due to her scent....i have found one of my girl friends in a large dept store by finding her scent and just following it.

uncle sugar trained me as well (army), but i dont consider it a special ability...just some can do it and some cant hack. but its just that some can pick up languages, some can paint (i cant!) some can sing, etc.

there sometimes talents that some have that are very out of the ordinary...those are the interesting ones.

Okay. I'll bite. I've sat back and silently watched this thread for a while now and I, for one, am just not afraid to say what my abilities are/were. I make that distinction because there were a lot of abilities I possessed as a teenager that I haven't even attempted in 20 years, so I have no idea whether or not I can even still do them. On the other hand, there are things that I know I can do presently because I have cause to do them often enough to be aware of their continued existence in my life.

1) Empathic - I can sense the emotions of other people, sometimes their mind set as well, but that varies from person to person. I am able to use my empathic abilities regularly to find my partner in a large store when she gets so involved in shopping that I lose her in there! LoL I can also use my empathy to sense when something is wrong with people that I'm emotionally close to who, literally, live 2,000 miles away from me. I can just feel it when they are thinking of me/missing me or (God forbid) if something is wrong with them. This ability has been with me all my life, it runs in my family, but I have often built shields around myself to insulate me from the full brunt of emotion that I am normally able to pick up on, simply because it can be overwhelming at times.

2) Foresight - This ability allows me brief glimpses into the future but, frustratingly enough, those glimpses are usually of very mundane moments, BUT those moments always presage an event of some kind of importance. I just never know what that event will be, so when I know that I am living an innocuous moment from one of my dreams, I pay extra special attention to everything else and everyone else around me, perhaps to the point of hyper-vigilance, so that I can prepare as best I can for whatever the "moment" is going to be. This has happened to me all of my life and it seems to run in my family.

3) Calling Storms/Elemental - As a teenager, I was able to call storms, especially wind storms. This was witnessed by several people at the time, but I have not attempted it in 20 years, so I don't know if I can still do it or not.

4) Augmentation - In times of great need, such as when I believed myself or my family to be in danger, I could augment, or add to, my normal physical abilities, such as speed, endurance, strength and hyper-sensitive hearing and sight. The effects of this augmentation never lasted for long and may be fully explainable by adrenaline, except I never felt tired after the effects wore off. This is another skill that I have not tried to access in over 2 decades, so I don't know how successful I would be at it now.

Believe me or not, ridicule me or not, if it makes you feel better, but this is the truth as I know it and have seen it in my own life.

For being a living Vampyre like myself I do consider those things to be natural. Strength, endurance speed, and heightened sences. (though do not use my eyes as an example!) -long story-

I don't think I have any special abbilties that any one doesn't already have and if I have an ability it's more than easily said that someone else is better than me.

I prefer instead to gauge others responses through interaction with me. I find that much more entertaining than divulging information whenever I'm asked. The results are infinitely more hilarious.

I can balance a spoon on my nose, if my head is tilted at the right angle.

Ok, I'll bite here as well but I'll be damned if I'm draged into any drama, i hate the stuff.

I have gifts, abilities..whatever you want to call them such as fast healing (broke my arm when I was a kid and it healed up in 9 days), highened sense of smell (such as smelling banana's from across a 40 ft office).

I also possess a great ability to cut through bullshit, and ignore drama, without giving a damn what everyone else thinks...While at the same time respecting my peers idea's and thoughts.

I would have to say being able to deal with animals.

But my biggest ablility would be to devour the dead. I freak a lot of people out doing so but I can call, and eat...dead energy. The more upset, angry, etc the energy is...the more...pleasant it is for me. I guess that is why I love graveyards.

I am a half-blood vampire, so I don't have many abilities. What I can do the best I'd say, is that I blend in quite well with humans. I have matured faster than my piers, and I drink blood if that counts. Personally, I consider having to drink blood as a hassle, so I wouldn't necessarily consider it an ability. I can't really do anything 'cool' which sucks but that's okay. I'm just glad I'm me, and you should too. ;3

Embarrassingly enough, I'm also a bit of a seductress. I don't mean too, I'm just naturally this way. Any time I get a boyfriend, or become friends with a guy, they get all clingy and obsessed with me. It's weird.... :/

I'm like a super empathh and can even do magic with emotional energy or intuitive sorcery

I have basic vampire abilities that set me apart from the rest of the population, it's just kind of life

also extremely high tolerance and the ability to stretch my aura and that has emotional, healing, and psychic extensions but is a complex ability and hard to use

I'm also pretty good at emotional healing and decent and physical healing and fighting demons
