i have noticed sine i have been working down on louisiana that there are people practive both, i observed a coven practiceing it, but at a great distance because the preistess had the reputation for not likeing new people, what do others thing of this practice

They are two totally different non-related things...

Since voodoo is a religious and vampirism is a physical condition with some supernatural overtones, there is no reason why a voodoo practitioner could not be transformed into a vampire. Nor is there any reason why a vampire could not decide to practice voodoo. Historically, the two have not been mixed in either literature, myth, or cinema--at least, not so far as I know. But why not? A recent post decried the invariable connection between vampirism and Christianity. It would be kind of neat to blend vampires and voodoo.

That first line of my post above should read "Since voodoo is a religious choice...."

good question,but I must say Voodoo is not a religion it is a practice/the coven was more then likely a coven of pagan/wiccans seriously doubt that they would be voodoo covens .It is a practice that is past down to others not something that is practiced in a coven.Hope that this has helped

they have nothing to do with each other, the only way that anyone could link them together would be that both are generally thought of as evil.

Vampirism is who a person is ... they either are or are not... voodoo is a personal choice of beliefs. A vampire could just as easily choose to follow voodoo as any other faith if he/she so chose to do so. However, being a vampire would not mean that you are a follower of voodoo, and as such following voodoo does not make you a vampire. I do not find it odd that a vampire would choose voodoo as both are considered left hand paths by society. however, I would find it less likely that one that follows voodoo would awaken to vampirism. But, one must always remember, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE !!!

You may very well have met people that are involved in both- but as many have said here- they don't have anything to do with eachother. They just don't. But people have many facets, and they practice many things. So they will do as they will.

I have not found anyone to veiw voodoo as evil but more supernateral. i can not say that these two things are related in anyway

I believe that we all have many different views on issues that we can blend things together that make us happy. I am also a "christian" but I have practice vampirism as well. I am a family oriented person and therefore do not choose to dress in my gothic style much anymore. I don't want people to judge my children for my choices. If someone wants to practice both vodoo and vampirism then good for them!
