Well it's like this once you have truly master Astral Projecting on the plains you can do most anything walk through walls fly but you must be on higher plains to keep lower spirits from attacking you but before you try mastering Astral Projecting you should first master Dream Recall first because both tie in together

Though I have little to no experience with astral projection, my other half has been trying to master it for a few years.

I have never really felt a "pull" towards mastering astral projection, though I've often encountered a distinct "out-of-body" feeling (often preceded by things like hallucinations or fever dreams), which leads me to think that perhaps I have been capable (though not in control) of some form of astral projection.

Though obviously I am not consciously trying to do these things or encounter these feelings, perhaps if I were to attempt to control them I would be capable of doing so.

As for intimacy during astral projection, I have had experiences on many occasions, assuming what I have been doing is some form of accidental astral projection triggered by moments of heightened emotional or physical stress.
I'm not claiming that what I have experienced is the same as what you're describing, but if anything I've encountered is similar in cause then there is a definite possibility of it - I know this likely isn't all that helpful to your topic but I thought I'd just share my experiences of it.

If anyone has any insight or thoughts as to what is happening in my case I would be most interested to hear it.

i dont claim to know anything about astral projection . but so many people go wrong were they think of it as trying to leave the body for if when you think of it we are not our bodies our bodies are just things we are seen as but there is much more to us and we can leave them in many ways the most common is to die or become close to death . another is to do this is what they do in india they slow things down almost to the point of death and then some even say they can see there bodies . but to do this because of excitement i would not know if at all posable.

I don't know if I believe in astral projection as described by many much younger than myself having been born from the 70s onward in regard to this topic. Even if not involved in the so-called "New Age" movement most are influenced a great deal by it without even knowing it.

I kind of follow the researches by Robert Monroe which go back years and years. He coined the term OOBE which has been reduced in more recent years to OBE by some. He was sort of a guinea pig for consciousness research even though he was not a scientist. He came to the conclusion along with others that one is not really out of the body exactly, but having a consciousness shift. This man died in 1995 but his Institute still remains. There are articles on their site which appear to need some up keep but it does tell his background. One video is down but the one with Monroe speaking is still there.

Monroe considered astral projection to be difficult and not something easily done by anyone who has a mind to do it. I have been re-reading his book: "Journey's Out of the Body," which I bought in the 70s. His experiences are extremely personal and might not be the same as someone else. Some of his experiences sound like he almost ventured into alternate universes. It is a very interesting book and he wrote others after this one. I think many have these experiences when dreaming and are not aware that they are having a consciousness shift. Just my opinion of course.

Sorry I didn't answer the original question. I would guess that would depend on the person. Many times lucid dreaming seems very real as well. People dream of such things so why not intimate encounters. Monroe tells of entering a body in another place. He didn't know where it was exactly and he had a wife there. So I would guess it is possible if all of these things are not something the mind creates when you alter consciousness. I believe that can be done but I am not sure of all the rest people talk about including...haha Shirley McClain. Since I have a close connection to the vampire community many speak of this like it is a common practice and claim to do all sorts of things when they are in the astral. One group, The Temple of the Vampire claim that is how they feed, on the astral plane. As to what part of it I don't know because some believe in levels, etc. So yeah, it is possible but at this point you would just have to take someone's word for it. Therefore it is a matter of belief for the most part.

Lucid dreaming is something I've always had the ability to do. I consider lucid dreaming and astral projection two different things, however it is possible to connect with another individual using either of these methods.

The answer to the question is no, in my experience. I haven't had any intimate experiences with astral projection - Mainly because I haven't been able to get out! I've had dreams I could control, and been able to experience pretty interesting things because of that, but thats about it.

The only time I had been able to consciously do anything of that nature, was when I was trying to project once, and got far enough (after about three hours, and using those binaural beats so many people seem fond of) to 'see' with my eyes closed. Everything was sort of a purplish hue, though, and it didn't last very long.

Any sort of tips for those of us having trouble achieving AP?

I've found that I can easily see the astral plain or at least the plain in which spirits operate and at will project even if I am not in the "relaxed" state of mind most require to do so. it is unnerving at first but I have become more acclimated to the randomness of my "jumps" so to speak and have been able to travel up to Washington to check on my family and around the property but I have noticed I have to know the place I want to go other wise it looks fuzzy and more grey then black and white solid if that makes any sense lol

I have not the slightest clue how these things are even possible, but I'm guessing what you just said about traveling the earth plane would be classified as 'remote viewing' as opposed to astral projection.

I only astral projected once I was lying in bed and I closed the door in my hallway.Felt like I jumped into another person' s body.

Now that I have my own place again, we'll see who can and thinks they can do Astral Projection.

I been into astral prjection before how ever is dangerous, if you dont know what your'e doing if your first time i recomend thinking of some place relaxing and not drink alchoal or do anything stupid.

It is definitely possible. I have even heard of people who identify themselves as tantric vampyres feeding via astral sex.

Astral travel is a natural thing for me.
I believe it's tied to one's psyche, and like most ways of the energy worker, it takes a lot of focus and control of thought and how determined you are to do it.

I have never "practiced" it until a few days ago and it's a very strange feeling to do it when awake. I used something called Binaural Beats (youtube it) to help me in this, as well as burning incense. The sound frequency is good for trancing/focusing and the incense grounds me back to reality if that makes sense.

I remember a feeling of being 'pulled' into a room of said individual I was thinking of, and honestly, it scared me a bit. I came right back into my body. It was my first attempt during awareness. It's far easier when sleeping.

I have already been told by a couple people they saw me. Even one smelled a fragrance (jasmine), which is interesting since i sleep next to incense.

All in all, i've already had a few people tell me i have gifts in this area and i plan to practice it as often as i can.

I've had astral sex a few times but I wouldn't label it as sex in the conventional terms. The use of genitalia is redundant the astral body has no need of them. The sensation of fully merging with another's spirit and simply playing off each others expressions and movements is ultimate intimacy. The tiniest of expressions becomes a macrocosm of experience when nothing else exists. The slightest sensation or ripple can develop into the sensation of orgasm resonating through your entire being. Surrender and release feels like your very being could come apart but you do it anyway, ride the wave! The insatiable apatite for more can turn you into quite a monster.

I have had dreams where I am in control and have been mostly when I am stressed or worried about something. I first stumbled on this about age 12 but only for the last few years have I been trying to astral project. Its very difficult I find..

Astral Projection is more than just a craft. You really have to be careful with it. I got stuck in a vortex once and it was the crapiest hour of my life. It also resurected my dead sire, and it also brought me to someone who I miss terribly because things went wrong...

to do it right i heard you have to try and not think of anything you have to have a clear mind and slow your thoughts down and i dont think that is posable if you are thinking of romance for that would only speed things up . and remember you have to be in control of everything thoughts , heart rate , breathing . the romantic or even thoughts of another person even if you did not like that person would only make you lose control over your thoughts

well it might be because when we change our body temps its alot easy to not think of anything and slow our thoughts down so our sub thinks faster then our external thoughts . we also find our self in less control of our actions then more. we give into the way things are not instead of the way others tell us they should be

Well, littleflames, my fever was 106 for nearly 24 hrs. What got me most was that, for the few minutes it lasted, I was scared but facinated. When I drifted off to sleep I awakened back in my bed. I couldn't move around much when I was up there, but I could see & hear everything.

see the thing is with the fath that i have someone has to be in the body or its dead and i dont want anyone else in here with me its to small as is lol. and if you were dead for a few secs even you can still come back but its not a very easy thing to do and even harder when you do it and are sick . so i think you had some help and did not know it .

When you astral project you leave behind your brain and all social stigma because there usually isn't any physical proof that it happens.

I've noticed my soul likes to go out and have fun nights with guys (and once there was a girl, but she wasn't very girly) and they all have similarities so I think that my soul mate has those similarities and my soul is just wondering around, checking out the possibilities until it finds the right one.

I'm perfectly happy being single, so it's not like I'm one of those girls who's totally crazed with finding "the one" and getting married.

If I meet a guy with that description who will physically date me then that's great because those similarities make up for a truly awesome guy, but if not, oh well, I still date guys and girls who don't fit that description because I don't know if I'll ever meet and date one who does.

I didn't, on my lowest level of consciousness, go out and hang out with those people myself, it was my deespest level, of sort of a subconsciousness that got out and found them, my brain just thought, hey there random male, you're pretty hot, sure I'll go on sort of an astral date with you.

well i say its not true look up gintic or man made man its been done not here in use i forget ware but the baby died in less then a day it did not have a soul we can make a dna body but we can not make a soul so the body dies . you might be a little right that you dont die if gone for a little time and this could be a soul other then your own is in the body and you would never know it for i dont believe there is a sub its something or a name we gave to our soul . mind and thought are all done by the brain but the soul does not need the brain when out of body .

That is because there are believed to be levels of Consciousness for a Soul. This material universe holds the lowest form of Consciousness, if one follows the philosophical concepts. Our Spirit, or Intellect, arising from the Source of all energies, holds far greater capacities of Consciousness as compared to the Soul, which is only here to help us lead a materialistic life. I know next to nothing on astral projection, but I believe that this could be a same reason why most people do not remember their dreams in their waking state... It's all in the sub-conscious?

Dreams are believed to be a deeper level of thinking and you can channel them sometimes. Dreams can also give you the same types of answers as meditation.

You can also leave your body and reach the astral realm through meditation.

The key is putting your body to sleep but keeping your mind awake.

I know I am new here but I thought this may give some insight. I have been practicing meditation now for about 10 years. One night about 9 months ago I was laying in bed preparing for the night time meditation before sleep and as I got into it a spinning tunnel appeared in front of my eyes, even though they were closed, looked much like the picture above farther up the post. Scarred me and I woke up out of it. I felt very drained and light headed after but restless. According to a family member that was my mind and body trying to Astral Project. it was the not knowing and rush od adrenalin that got me out of it. It is not safe to just jump into anything but sometimes in some situations it cannot be helped. Like the consensus is here practice makes perfect but also know how to be safe.

well i never tryed and the truth be told , its because i know that the soul is no game and not a thing to take lightly . every time you play games of the soul you burn . and i dont plain to do that ever .

I learned something many years ago that if you put on a small piece of paper six lines crossing each other, left to right being time of current place and the right , time of destination; up is current location, down id location of where you want to be; and diagonal line; one end being you and the other end the person you are trying to reach. place your hands on it and concentrate by closing your eyes focusing on the 6 figure lines and then into the middle of all those crisscrossing lines. This I have found to be rather affective when astrally projecting yourself to a person as it has worked for me several times. However I also astrally project myself into the future in my dreams, (which many call the deja vu effect). But I am a dreamwalker as well, this sort of thing comes to me naturally, but it is also very draining.

You can train your sub conscious mind, so you can gain control over the dream over time, and then you can move your astral body entirely by your will, but strong emotions can be a negative factor, and draws the astral body back into your physical body, that's if you panic or get scared. You have to remain calm and relaxed, remember to stay focused on your desire of rising. You have to enjoy the sensation to make the experience pleasant.

that sounds to much like plain old dreaming to me . if you get scared you wake up . its truth in that because if you get excited or strong emotion then you can not sleep for your neurones flair , that means electricity goes off in your head more then normal and then how could you stay asleep . its like the jump start of your heart with electricity the brain gets a jump start and kicks back to awake mode.

when i was younger i could leave my body,how,well my air conditioner in my room would make this humming sound which would trigger my spirit to leave my body. in the evening,late i would be sleeping but not totally sleeping i would be on the verge of falling asleep,so with the hum comming from my air conditioner all combined i would literally leave my body,once when i left it,i saw myself sleeping,it freaked me out and i got very scared,i snapped back into my body very fast,and awoke,since that time in my past,i have a brand new air conditioner,but the hum or frequency is differant,so i dont leave my body no more.

The thing with Astral Projection is, I'm not sure if you actually LEAVE your body or if your mind is expanding itself outward and seeing things based on information transference of it's surroundings if that makes any sense?
Because I do 'see' myself leave my body and go to wherever it wants to go.

However, I also have done it while awake. I would think about someone and actually BE there in MIND. I believe it ties in with your psychic abilities, much like remote viewing?

I thought about someone close to me as i fully relaxed in a sitting position, and listening to binaural beats to aid in astral projection, and I have never been there to his place before, but the first thing i saw was a room with wood panel walls. I instantly pulled back to myself because the feeling was different to me.

I asked him if his home had panel walls and he showed me a picture verifying it. :)

I would like to say: BEWARE.

BEWARE to those who really do NOT know what they are doing... and the amount of people who really DO know what they are doing, I probably could count on one hand. There are so many people who have faced tragic consequences for meddling into affairs they had no business going into in the first place. If you go too far into the astral plane, there is the HIGH chance that you may never come back. Then what happens is your physical body pretty much falls into a coma although it's not really a "coma" persay.. you're just not in your physical body and can't get back to it because you traveled too far and now you're stuck.. and ALL these spirits.. some good, mostly evil, want to TAKE your physical body so that they can be "alive" again. Like I said.. BEWARE.. because if you do NOT know what you are doing, you can literally be lost in that plane for the rest of eternity.. even after your physical body dies. I can travel astrally.. I choose not to.. Because I am NO expert and I don't want to end up like that.

I have had voluntary and involuntary experiences, I have managed to archive flouting above my bed, but I can't seem to get any further then my bedroom, I get so stressed about this, then my astral cable ends up pulling my astral body back into my physical body. I am going to carry on experimenting further to see if I can get my astral body further from coincidence. I need to learn to relax and stay calm during the experience, my goal is to travel further beyond my bedroom at will.

There are many methods of astral projection. Some methods that work for me might not work for others and vice versa. i've done a lot of practice on the subject and have even gone so far as to open a mentorship about it, but i'll be the first to admit I'm no expert on it at every level.

That being said, astral vampirism is possible. For years when I subscribed to the belief that I was a vampire out of necessity rather than just out of lifestyle, I used astral projection as a means of feeding on others. It's a powerful way to obtain energy.

For most, astral projection is not natural. Those who can project at will have to constantly check themselves to ensure it's not just daydreaming or another simulation of the self projecting outwards.

There are several signs that astral projection has occurred and BillytheJust has let onto one of them. You can test the viability of astral travel just by putting a hidden goal in sight and if one is able to find what it is, then voila, projection is successful.

However, I'd venture to say that very few are successful at that kind of a test due to the subjective nature of astral travel.

By subjective I mean that what we all agree upon perceiving in our physical world is perceived through the physical senses. A red apple is just that: a red apple. When you take it to the astral realm, however, you are no longer necessarily comparing apples and oranges. Rather, you are comparing shared experiences that are perceived through a non-physical filter.

To that end, such a "test" is near impossible to pass.

I prefer to think of astral travel as a personal journey both within and without. Perceptions the astral body potentially will vary widely from what the physical body would perceive. What's a red apple here would be more readily perceived as smooth, round object that the astral body might be able to tell is red (or possibly round and smooth for that much).

I think the "getting stuck" is the stuff that good ghost stories are made of. The link between body and spirit is very strong and while it might be possible for someone to interfere with your return, "getting stuck" doesn't seem like a common occurrence.

I don't think you can get stuck, because your sub conscious seems to bring you back automatically, it is impossible to get lost, because the cable is attached to your physical body at all times.

I tend to astral project when I wish to support my friends, whether it's by sending them healing energy or letting them know that they are safe since I am with them. Unfortunately, I cannot always do it on the whim, since it usually takes a lot out of me because I rarely do it. So, I usually have to plan it out to make sure I'm not too sleepy the next day.
