death is what awaits us after life. people fear it because they dont know what to expect when they die.
Who says everyone fears it? I don't exactly fear it, but I don't exactly want it yet...I used to...it's a possible way of escaping something we may not want to face and imagining something more beyond what we know and see...or maybe we just get stuck here even after we're dead and we get to just roam the earth and see what it will become...
...which IS something to fear...
Another part of life, another life, the end of life whatever you want it to be.
''We'' fear it,cause the unknown is feard.
true, i dont fear death, i just want to live my life first, then when im old i will face death. Death is not a bad thing when your old and sick.
Death is the only thing we are guaranteed in this life..and what is there to fear...Death is just a release from this body, our time/journey here is done. Time to go and experience another part.
I like SatinMist's view...it's pretty much what I believe
I think the majority of people fear Death due to what it brings and what they belive to represent, not Death itself.
For some it is the end,and they fear this cause they can't accept it.
For others is not the end but another life, therefore they might fear what's after.
Some to suffer before dying.
Others the fear of not accomplishing their goals.
And so on.
Infact I don't fear to die,but to suffer and what might be after this life,if there's any after life,to be worse than this.
Death is a confusing place, so much so I can't easily descibe it though I've been there.
But as for why people fear it, it is for all the reasons stated previously: Death is the unknown, and humans always fear what they don't know or understand.
the only thing that i know about death is that i seem to lose everyone i love to it
Trust me, grimarchangel, you are not alone in that feeling.
I agree with SatinMist and Ardaiya completely.
But the reason why humans fear death is quite simple, though most humans don't believe in life after death deep inside they know it's not the end.
And it's certainly not the beginning, it's a continuation of a process started long before humanity ever discovered science but in the age of the atom humanity thinks it has the answers to everything while in fact human science knows nothing.
All of the great thinker of the past and present had to resign at the point where the really interesting questions begin and that's what causes the human fear for death, literally feeling that there is more than just physical existance yet growing up in a world that teaches the opposite.
Id say death is the end of exsistance on this planet...(unless you believe in reincarnation or something)
Some people fear death..I dont know why
There are possibly billions of worlds out there, I'd be seriously depressed if I'd landed on here again, lol.
It could be worse though, I could be living in the Congo Area or in Saudi Arabia so what am I complaining about.
what if ya landed yourself on one of those small islands in the middle of the ocean O_O
i belive your all right and i would like continue to hear from all of you.
Then you would survive there as well you would survive anywhere else.
Living on these small oceanic islands can be fun too as a seacrab or something, at least they're not over populated ^^
Another reason why people fear death is because somewhere deep down they believe that after life comes another life where they may have to be responsible for their actions in the previous life. E.g. the idea of Hell. All of us are sinners in one way or another, it all depends on your point of reference. So, I assume that the idea that you might step in a place where you will have to be responsible for what you did before is scary. After all, we are all scared at some level when trivial things happen to us, like change the job... So, I think it's normal that such a significant change is feared by people...
I try not to think about it all that much. I went through a phase when I Was 12 when I hid away petrified of what was going to happen the next second, that was me realizing my mortality =D Not a fun stage of life >.

Death is the one true equalizer. It's the only thing that will come to every person on the planet at some time.
People fear death partly due to the innate human fear of the unknown, partly due to the fear of the pain of dying. It's easy enough to say that you don't fear death. I'd like to think I don't. But until it's actually upon you, you'll never know for sure.
True death is when the soul finally somehow ceases to exist.
For me, Death was never something that i feared. I always thought of it as, "the welcomed release"... my entrance to the next life, a higher plane. But, I must admit, that has changed now. I've recently been diagnosed with something that COULD kill me. That diagnosis, which I just got 2 days ago, has brought up fears of death that I didnt know I had.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I never feared death until I found that it may actually be coming for me.
i know wut death is i died and saw wut it is all it is is a place were souls see wut they want to see ur soul doesnt go to heaven or hell iit just goes to a place were u can rest ur bones from ur travels my uncle brought me back from the dead and know this i wish he hadnt rite now
I am glad to see all the responses that everyone is posting on my subject. The reason i have posted this subject is i want to know if I should fear death or embrace it once my time has come.
yo hell if its ur time then embrace it i did an i was brought back because it wasnt my time thats when u know its ur timne is when ur told so dont fear death welcome it like a family member i have and its always welcome to come and see me anytime
thank you darklordyoko i never thought of it that way before. I guess if it is my time I shall welcome it with open arms.
all death is is just the end of a begining that started 75-80 years prior (usually)
what if ya landed yourself on one of those small islands in the middle of the ocean O_O
Lol in that case whre's the problem?
If it's a soul it has no problem to survive cause it has no body thererfore no need for food etc...
If it gets reincarnation still wouldn't be alone considering it would have parentst hen if they die while s/he is young then it becomes the issue of survival.
I dont Fear Death at All .. I dont think I would desire to be in pain to Die as pain and I dont get along But to Die does not fear Me .. As a Nurse Ive Witnessed it many Times an d for the Most part its actually Quite Beautiful... The Person goes to be a Peace and rest You see them relax and its over... Its not like that in all situations of course but like i said for the most part! I agree its just the door to the Next Portal of Life!
death is what is after life... what is awaiting us on the other side... poeple fear it becuase they dont know what to expect..
i dont fear death tho.. its apart of life
It's a cycle, and i don't fear it, I just am afraid of the hurt that might come before it :)
BOnBOn
pain hmm that is interesting. pain is something i like. but yet death is also kind of interesting as well.
If it came down to me growng extremely old and reverting back to a baby..ie someone had to change me or feed me..I will do myself in..do like some Native Americans..walk into the sunset..never to be seen again. I don't fear death or what comes after..its the decaying mentally, physically I have issues with..We are born into this world helpless and we go out helpless..I say no thank you.
Thats it. Thats what i wanted to hear. Thank you SatinMist. That has to one of the most comments i have heard on here. I still wish to hear what everyone has to say though. But still thank you SatinMist.
Death is perceived to be the end of one's existance, yet is it merely the end of one form of existance before we pass onto the next is open to debate. Personally, I do not fear death, but neither do I wish it to come quickly. So in a way I worry at times that it will come for me before I have experienced all that I have wanted, as I find the world to be a beautiful, intoxicating place with many delights still left to be uncovered. However, if it shall come quicker than expected then so be it - after all its the uncertainty of death and when it will occur that makes the moments we experience that much more fragile and beautiful.
some people are not afraid of death....well I am...maybe in 60 years i wont be : )
I mean ..when you are young and ar full of life of course u dont wanna lose it
i tihnk it might br an eternal slumber or who knowwws ive always wonderd what happend after you died
In my opinion, death is just the next step in my journey. When I *die* I will go into the Summerland to recouperate from the trials and tribulations of the life I previously led. When that has been accomplished, I will be given a new *assignment* and will embrace that new life with enthusiasm and do the very best I can.
what ever it maby i shall give my life to death when it comes for me. even though i tend to live my life on the edge of death its still fun when your in your youth to have a near death esperiance. Ive had them several times in my life.
people fear death, because not much is known about it. no-one knows what is after life, know one knows what dyeing feels like. some people have belives about death, but whos to say wether they are true or not. no-one knows how they are going to die either, because no-one knows what will happen in the end. all that is known is that everyone will die.
