Has anyone tried bringing forth ghosts or other spirits for amusment.
There was once an article in ghost stories book from a school library called "Bloody Mary" its suppose to be when your alone and your in front of a mirror and all lights being turned off. And chant Bloody Marry three times. And your suppose to see the ghostly face of Bloody Marry herself.
Its sounded cool, but Im way to afraid to actually try it and get haunted for the rest of my life for it.
Has anyone tried something like that and see if it actually works? Or tried other methods?
For amusement...no. As these are..or were human beings, I treat them with respect, as I would anyone.Summoning is not a game.
Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary...three times in front of a mirror.
Shoot...who hasn't.
I personally wouldnt try.but this does sound very similar to the candyman.
Well I dont mean from out of disrespect, and yes your right bringing forth spirits is not a game. But none the less, I have been having some trouble seeing or believing in ghosts. Using tarot cards or spirit boards is something I dont think I should be messing around with. But on the other hand, having the sence of fear in me. Would that indicate that I may've believe after all? Im even afraid to try turning in to a channel on TV where you see nothing but grey staticy screen like from the movie White Noise.
this should not be done for amusement. or for the sheer hell of it. because some times these ghosts can get stuck here if you do not know what you are doing
Never do such things for amusement, only when necesarry (i know spelled wrong lol)
i never heard of the bloody mary, i did try it with candyman, though i only managed to say it twice.
I've tried to do all of the main stream summonings and they never worked for me. I have summoned ghosts by accident though. They apparently don't like certain spells that my friend try do to do.
Oops :)
Well, to restate in color, I was always too afraid to do the Bloody Mary thing, but at a slumber party, a pile of girls crammed into the bathroom and tried it with no result.
Years later, a friend and I took up work with a Ouija Board. All I will say is we got scared out of our wits and then got rid of the thing.
The mediumns say spirits are to come of their own free will, you should never conjure up a spirit. for summoning up one may be a Spirit that you wish you never had done.
I think people have a natural curiosity about the other side which is why at times we try to communicate or see by chanting things or using Ouija board, or channeling. I think that we need to be aware of what we are doing, because we may open a door that we cannot control.
Summoning for amusment would probably not be a good idea. How would you feel if you where awoken in the middle of your rest for fun?
if i dnt respect some ppl, i definitly respet the death souls... summoning is painful and not a game it can be dangerous. I prefere to let them come to be rather i call them... they need their peace and acceptance of this sudden event in the otherworld
When I was a teen I used things like a ouija board and other ways of calling spirits. And I learnd my leason. I do not mess with things like this anymore. It is not a game. And now I have to deal spirits following me around.
I would never disturbe spirits, especially for amusement. but if someone came to me I would try to help them.
no i have not. i'd be lery of summining one for amusment though. not everything you want to play with wants to play nice.
I would agree with everyone here that thinks these ghosts should be left to rest in peace and not disturbed for amusement.
I would like to know who 'Bloody Mary ' is/was though.
bloody mary is an urban legond. i don't know how it started though
All I know its an old childrens ghost story, but someone put the instructions in the book. If its really that dangerous then I wouldn't know why they did it in the first place. As I said before, I've never ever tried it. The only reason I never do it cause, I get a disturbing vibe telling me not too. If everyone else has tried and nothing happens, then this Bloody Mary thing must be some kind of silly joke just to scare kids.
There was a time when my mom told me her story of using the ouja board back when she was young, at first she thougt it was all just a game till one night in her bed sleeping. She woke up and heard foot steps creeping around in the dark. She heard someone coming into the room and then she hears someone breathing from behind and feel the spirits breath. My mom was too afraid to turn around and look. Then the breathing stopped and the spirit left the room on heeled shoes when making the stepping sound on the floor. The hauntings must've kept on going for sometime. So finaly my mom went to the church and and cleaned up her soul and a priest excersised the house. And after that the hauntings has stopped. She could never forget those events that happened to her. To me it sounded like an interesting story. For those who uses the ouja board, be very carefull. Cause sometimes you could summon more than just ghosts but perhaps next time the demons might want to try take advantage in passing through the summoning gate.
I try to respect Ghosts as much as possible. I have no reason to call them forth.
Ghost
Here is an origin based on where the Bloody Marry story came from.
Mary Worth is said to have lived in Massachusetts in the 17th century. Her face was hideously disfigured by dark red scars. Children in the Village called her "Bloody Mary," and followed her through the streets chanting her name over and over.
During one of the colony's witch scares, Mary was accused in being in league with the Devil, and was hanged. One night, not long after Mary's execution, a group of children decided to play at conjuring. They set up a mirror against the wall and sat in a semi-circle around it. Then they all began to chant, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary." When they had chanted the name for the 99th time, Mary appeared in the mirror. Her face was more hideous than ever, and her hands had turned into claws. She reached through the looking glass to tear the children's faces.
Shrieking and screaming, the terrified children tumbled out of the room. Although Bloody Mary disappeared that day, her spirit remains, waiting for someone to call her name.
Variations:
In some places the children chant, "I do believe in Mary Worth," or "Bloody Mary come get me!" In other parts of the United States the spirit's name is Mary Whales, Mary Johnson, or Mary Lou. Some folklorist believe there is a connection between the Bloody Mary Legend and the Chicano Legend of La Llorona, a weeping ghost who wanders forever searching for her children whom she murdered. The number of times to chant her name varies also. It ranges from 5 to 100. In some places they mention her as half human and half animal, while in others she will be either the wife, daughter, or sister of Satan. Other's believe that it's not Mary you call- But the Devil himself. Some claim it was the christain church who made her up to stop children from entering spell casting, instead of the begining of their prayer "Hail Mary," the chanting starts with "Hell Mary." Could it be true that this person ever really existed? Many have sincerely claimed to have seen her or have had some sort of experience in the action of calling her name.
One should never summon ghost, ghost and spirits are all around let them contact you.
I have tried summoning ghosts by a card game that one a my friends taught me. So my other friend and I tried this game in daylight in her house and it was very creepy. That was several years ago but after that I never summoned a ghost again. They should be left alone in peace.
ghost summoning is very not real ok it is as bad as a wedgie board
As the others have said, respect the spirits. My friends summoned a spirit. They are quite disrespectful, and they ended up with headaches after the spirit left. Sad thing is that they haven't changed a bit.
well if it is real why hasnt anyone been talking to murder victems to find out whom killed them ?
Defiant- That is not how it works. That would also be disrespecting their rest. Besides would you believe someone that says they know the murderer of a case if you were an official? I think not. That person would be turned away and probably laughed at.
i dont like the idea of ouija boards - they can be too dangerous. i've never tried it and i wouldn't want to although i wouldn't mind going through a medium to contact the other world.
i have never seen a ghost or spiritof any kind, though i wouldnt want to either. i cant even watch a scary film without getting frightened (i have no nerves)~im a wimp!
i dont know why anyone would want to, and i agree that they should not be disturbed.
I have never summoned a spirit for amusement, however i have summoned other things for my own amusement and have (in the past) summoned things jsut to tell them to leave...it's quite funny to see the looks on their faces.
However, I now do not do this very often atall as i have made a few enemies by being so foolish.
I would think that doing this for amusement wouldn't be a wise idea .. just like magic, inexpeirence can cause dyer consiquences
the necromantic arts are not for amusment and I would not recomand summoning a spirit just for kicks and giggles.
When I was a kid I was absolute scared of Mary , the mention of her name would give me chills.. Do not call forth anyone It is very dangerous..
If your interested in reading some on Mary here is a link I found its in copy paste form.

Lonewolf2000, thanks for letting me know, I guessed it would be something 'local' I have never heard of it in the UK (doesn't mean to say that others haven't though)
I would think that, if that incantation worked, it would be famous worldwide
I thought it was going to have some connection with 'Typhoid Mary' who was definitely real but not known as a ghost (just a plague carrier'
Anyhow thanks for the additional info and, thamnks for returning t your thread to keep it on track :)
the bloody Mary thing i tried once and nothing. i dont know if i did not believe enough for it to happen or just a tail to scare ppl.
I have played with a Oujia board. My friend and I did contact a ghost that resided in the house. We interviewed it and found out it was a child that had drown in the bathtub. It was creepy as my hair was standing on end the whole time, but i know that it could have been more dangerous if we didn't get a benelovent ghost
Well Im gonna go ahead and close this thread in 2 days, if someone wants this subject to stay open then cast you votes to me telling to close it or keep it open.
Put Ghost summoning in the subject line and type in close or open when you email me. It starts now!
I dont try it cause they come on their own whenever they feel like it, but I did tried 3 times...when i was a kid and also I do know how to do it but would never recommend it, unless the reason you want to summon its to actually be ready to do as the gost, spirits or other entity you have summon reuqest form you. they dont come just for the fun of it.
i havent tried the bloody mary thing but from stories i have heard it is more than just seeing a face i am more into the ouija board now some ppl who think that the board is just a game who in the hell would mock the spirit world like that it is real and it is not a game . i love to call spirits out for fun it is even better in a graveyard lol
When I was about 8 years old I stayed at a sleepover at my friends house. There was about 5 or six of us and we tried it. She appeared in the mirror only to sit there for a few muniets and then and arm shot out of the mirror holding a bloody handkerchief. I don't know if it was just an overreacting imagination of a bunch of young girls but we all saw it. To this day I will not walk by or stand in frot of any mirror let alone a bathroom morror in the dark.
to summon a ghost you have to have the ablity to call them forth, i should know because i have done it number of time and also i can see them and talk to them, but you have to watch out for evil ones too, they are not nice
no i havent tried summoning any form of spirit it hard enuff when they show up without ur knowledge
as much knowledge that you might get from there dead I would never summon any for there time on this world has past and they deserve peace
Summoning Ghosts or spirits for fun leads to big trouble, as bad as losing your body and becoming the driftless soul, among other things. So I wouldn't recommend such things. And if I have heard the legend of bloody mary correctly, then when you summon her she takes your soul back with her.
