I have a question that has been nagging me.

How would you kill a vampire. I mean a real vampire that really had no interest in you romantically but only viewed you as meat?

Please no flames, I am being somewhat serious. I have read a few books, watched the movies, and done some research (albeit online).

Let's say for the sake of argument that wooden stakes are in. What about a bullet with quicksilver, or a silvered weapon. I have even read that tungsten, platinum and paladium are good. Hell, I have even seen on a movie them using titanium.

Thoughts?

ok Silver is werewolf/lycan and the wooden stake is for vampires by most movies and books.

But if you cut them or shoot them do they not bleed. You can decapite(sp?) them or bleed them dry. But please no garlic all that dose is give you bad breath.

The legendary vampire is killed through silver bullets, stakes to the heart, decapitation, holy symbols, etc.
What I consider to be "true" vampires are killed the same way any other human would be.

Never have i met a creature that doesn't bleed or die other then a spirit if it didn't have something shoved into its heart where the inner world is penetrated by something of the outer world. Its the mechanics and even then it only dislodges the engery currents there are still ways to resurrect ones self if the body dies.

Possession is the favorable method to ensure temporary survival till a suitable vessel can be made. Then if you happen to be the one kill off the flesh, then you have to deal with the fact that such an act of murder does infact open your soul to be forfeit if the vampire is aware of this at the moment of death, and takes advantage of it, and switches the souls between the bodies.(standard magicks of course) then the one who does the murdering is dead, and if not a vampire themselves will be subject to dying themselves, if such methods have not otherwise been ensured to attain the immortality of the spirit. Of course even if the body dies with the spirit in it. The soul itself can cross from the realms of the dead and incarnate itself back into the physical....so again its not dead. The worst you can do to a truly vampiric soul is to shatter it, and hope it can't pick up its pieces.....even that doesn't work....so if you happen to kill the body, your screwed if they are capabable of coming back from it, even if their flesh and spirit is destroied.....

nothing is immortal, not even vampires, so anything can be use.

So, and I forget the movie, it is like that Denzel Washing movie about that one demon or whatever inhabiting another body so it really doesn't matter about the corporeal?

As to the other replies. Thanks, I figures and gleaned that most movie stuff was pretty fake, but there is a common theme of the stake.

Flesh is just a wrapper so that the spirit can interact with the physical world. Becoming flesh limits the full powers, however if you can separate from the body then you can transfer non-corporeally into things.

Infernal, are you saying that you think that vampires can be anyone? They are more like a spirit than the boogie man type of movie stuff?

Yea. In a form. Its like a demon that finds a way to preform a function of energetic balance. It exists to preform a balancing act between the living and the dead. To be something like a guide. To be able to not be affected as adversely to the otherworlds as a normal human would be so to speak. They can handle the between the world states in their soul, in their essence and survive the wear on the body....it may break down, and they can channel the energy through blood (the link to the soul) to effect on the physical plane.

However, let me make a note, when I say demon, i mean a type of god acting on its own accord, as it best deems fit to act, and interact with what it comes in contact with.

hmm there are many legends and stories of how to kill a vampire. Like burning them and sunlight are true but silver bullets is nonsence thats for werewolves
bleeding them dry im sure would kill them a crucifix i doubt would work. Theres many tales to it and not all are true nor are they lyies everything storiy or legend starts somewhere

Cut off the head, leave them in the sun and let them bleed out. I heard also to remove the heart and bury separately.

What I have heard, you most have a lot of faith with the cross to face a vampire, so he cant come near you, a vampire can be killed with strong sunlight, holywater or a steak through the heart. Are you could get him in the daytime, while he is sleeping in his coffin. I know a good vampire movie, its called Fright Night, there is a lot of ideas in it, remember that movie.

But I do find it true that one has to become a monster in order to kill something, until it comes to the surface then one has become the monster needing itself to be killed by a greater monster.

its quite interesting, however it would be a thread like this that condones death of anyform to any creature or entity. Killing is murder no matter the lens you put it on. You must kill to eat meat, you must take that which makes life in order to remove it from this world. So it would beg to be asked, then why if you had no intention of killing something like a regular man, would you want and seek to kill something that has no business with you? Why do you need to know how to kill it? What makes such a thing imperative to your nature as you would have the justification to attempt to kill something that has lived and by right will live longer then you?

There is vampire site called www.zerotime.com Vampires and Werewolves. A silver steak is known or a silver crucifix, with a lot of faith in it for the power to work. It is very differcult to kill a vampire, because all the weapons is not guaranted to kill the vampire, he is already dead and is a creature of the night.

Infernal, I happen to agree with you. Why would you want to kill anything exactly? Why does it even matter to anyone to kill something that has every right to be here just as we do. Even if it is of the unknown to many people, or perhaps dark, it doesn't mean that one should kill it just to rid the world of it.

The folklore was made out of scared people whom probably didn't even try to talk with these creatures. You guys follow these things and believe it to be true when in fact its probably a lie or a lie mixed with truth. You cannot kill what is meant to be, life always finds a way. If this creature is truly what the legends say immortal then that means that it could come back, just not in the way you expect it to.


The golden rule, do onto others as you would do onto your self. So would you be willing to kill your self along with this creature? Because as it stands, it is murder...not to mention it violates the laws of karma because your not eating it.

Well I have always heard that silver is werewolves and lycans things like that, and movies have always said that the wooden steak works well against vampires, but another method is decapitation.

My point is not "hey let's try and kill a vampire", it is more of dispelling the myth of imortality from a corporeal viewpoint. That being that if a spirit being possesses (wow that is a lot of s's) a vessel and it is called vampire, then that is a like a parasite unless it was invited to inhabit that vessel. And don't be defensive about killing. I am not arguing the point of killing it or not killing it. only that can you kill something that is supposedly immortal?

I understand that there are differing views on what constitutes a "Vampire".

That being that there are views that they leach energy, others that they eat their victims and the blood too.

I do like the idea that Life is a struggle. We fight against life and the environment every single day. Here is the challenge...go naked into the woods. Survive if you can. Nature will teach you that she is not your friend, but a force that can kill you...so in that scenario and the thread, know what you are dealing with and ways to overcome it IF necessary.

Fire I believe would kill anything. Which, I think a few people already mentioned up a few posts. And guns will kill anyone I don't care who or what you say you are. Poisons, that in most regards will too, though you can find the very odd creature that can build up an immunity to some types.
But I am sure but the time I finish typing others will have pointed this out too.

with vampires of myth, legend or movies it's a wooden stake, decapitation, incineration(burning), sunlight and bleeding dry(only if done by another vampire). Also for the death to be truely permanent the ashes of the vampire must be scattered or they can be reanimated if blood is poured on them. A living vampire can be killed by anything that would kill a human as they are human. Reanimation of a "living" vampire is generally impossible unless whatever killed it is repairable by and treated by a doctor with 4 minutes in most cases.

Well, according to legend, fire and or sunlight are definitive ways to kill a vampire. I've read contradicting info on pretty much everything else except a wooden stake.

Nature is very much so a deadly force, not wanting to be all lovely fluffy and warm....it is cold, it is wet, dry, moist, hot, miserable. You have to fight everthing to survive the day, and night. If you go naked then you have to find cloths, you have to find water, and shade, something to eat, and a way to get yourself out of the cold. Very much so is true on the planes, nothing will keep you safe but your own power.

The spirit is immortal, very hard to kill a will that has surmounted death. I would wager you have to break the will, to get them to accept their death.

Another way to kill a vampire is beheading and burning his corpse, because vampires are scared of fire and another way is to use a crucifix with all your faith in it.

Some of the movies I have seen where they used bullets to kill a vampire, they used a shotgun bullet but the middle of the bullet was wood. You still has to cut off the head though but it killed them.

Well, I think that for poetic justice, assuming it was trying to bleed me dry, that it should starve to death.

I have knowelge of killing vampires, Silver is for wolvs.
1. Killing the first step u can expose the coffin with sun light with the vampire init.
2. Keep him from his coffin by burning it and also sprinkle holy water and a comminun waffer in the coffin and he wont be able to get back in his coffin
3. You can also set his coffin ablaze with him in it durin daylate.
4. You can kill a vampire with a steak in his heart and cut his head off and put wolfs bane in his mouth and u burry the head seperatly Or u can expose him in the day light and expose him to sun light. the sun light will reduce him to dust and the same with a cross.

The vulnerability of a vampire depends on what you believe a vampire to be... silver is now widely used as an antiseptic (there are sticking plasters that are silver coated) so if you believe vampirism or lycanthropism to be a disease this is the way to go... the true vampire is bred to feed on blood like a shark or a leech... but he/she has a deep seated fear of God and his angels (those that have not Fallen)... crosses will work if the bearer is favoured by God otherwise they are simply trinkets of deceit and worthless... the killing blow depends on your view of the seat of the soul... the head or the heart... some believed that separating the corpse into parts and burying them in different locations meant that the spirit within the vampire could never be strong enough to rise again... burning the corpse utterly removes all traces of the spirit attached to the body... every soul leaves a trace on its host... hence why there are reports of transplant patients taking on the character traits of their donors...

well a silver sword lined with acid. after i was done having fun. id have to kick the crap out of it first. id make it painful to. but after my fun id shove a pitch fork though his chest ripping his heart out the other side. then crush it

in stories, it could be lies, in films it could be just wierd ways to convince you, but decapitation could work, but to use full effect, take away their loved one, pull out the vampire's heart, then use uv rayed bullets and shoot anywhere, but to be honest, i love all vampires wheither they kill me or use me.

If a fictional vampire came to kill me, I would just wait until I woke up from the dream. While I was in the dream, I am sure I would elect to use religious artifacts and holy water to ward off the unwelcome predator. I might also try for a good old fashion stake... maybe attack with a #2 led pencil because those are pretty handy.

Chopping off a vamps head is the only way to really kill one. Stake to the heart just puts them to sleep, Allergic reactions are from too much sunlight which is over a 2 hour period, silver, magic, and wood.

From all the Historical items ive read there is not just ONE way...you must find thier resting place...then stake the heart straight thruogh into the ground to pin them to the spot...decapitate them take the head and put it between the knees and stuff the mouth with Garlic.Annoint all with holy water(this part varies from country to country)Place garlic/Bayleaf/and either bellflowers or wolfsbane around the grave.It also must be Un masrked so they do not remember their name.In some cases they speak of dragging the body around the area backward s and reburying it so in case it does overcome the ritual it wont find its way back...Now the oriental and islanders have a different approach.But does this help/

Pretty much anything is destroyed by fire and reduced to ashes. Since a vampire is only the body the body must be destroyed and fire's always the best bet.

A good question, going with hollywood vamps may be killed from stakes, cutting there heads off and holy water. yet in true live there are no immortals that i have come across. so living vamps may die from all acts of violence. its not the movies.
