Do Mythical Vampires reproduce, and if so, is it in the exact same way People and Animals do? Is the Myth of when a Vampire bites someone, that someone becomes a Vampire true?

I thought we already discussed the fact that 'real' vampires don't exist... hence people who claim to be vampires... yes they can reproduce just like the rest of us...

I believe that every being existing on this planet reproduces in one way or another. Now, it would be possible (highly unlikely, though) for a being to change another's DNA but it would be more possible after the mixing of the blood of the both. Let us notice, though, that there have been many experiments to change a being's DNA and it is far from easy. Consider how difficult it would be if we wanted the change to be made after a bite.

and no the 'myth' is that you can be bitten by a vampire and die...

i was under the impression that you also had to drink the blood of a vampire to truly take the change...

It depends upon which myth you are referring to. In some the vampire reproduces by feeding, through the kill, producing other vampires. In other myths the vampire feeds often upon it's own children so, in that case, they do reproduce by copulating. Like opinions there are also many myths and they don't all agree.

I am now talking about Mythical Vampires, the ones you read about and see in Movies. Do they Reproduce, and if so, how do they go about it? Do they have babies or eggs?

As far as I am aware there are no eggs involved ....just the bite.

I do not think they do, it is all in the bites to humans

I believe that it is possible and in both ways. In the legendary biting way as well as copulation.

I also believe they can reproduce either through the bite or by copulating. I 've seen it happen both ways, in movies.

The great thing about mythology is that if you don't like what you have, you find another myth.

Ummm...in Van Helsing? Dracula mated with his Female Vampires and produced some sort of eggs.

in some movies i have watched they did reproduce but the babies were some form of some kind of flying monsters but dont no the names of them..

Yes, Mythical Vampires started out as Humans....duh. But they are NOT Humans after they became Vampires. Just like you're NOT Human when you've been in a Grave for 300 Years.

You are asking for opinion but looking for a definete answer that is my opinion.

So Mythical Vampires are real? That makes no sense what so ever. If you want a serious answer it will have to be based on something other than myth. There is only one mammal that lays eggs and it ain't a vampire other than what is in the movies. Movies myth? No - fiction. In Angel they can't reproduce but they bite. But then again he ends up with a son. Go figure. It's TV. Sounds like a guessing game to me. Pick one - any one.

One theory is that vampires are the walking dead, right? Well if something has no life how might it make life. Reproducing would be by biting, draining, then refilling with the mixed blood the first one drank I guess.

Thats Siring...which can be seen as reproducing...and you make a good point. Humans...to dead/vampire but that doesn't change any phsyical aspect of the being itself. So I think it's is safe to say they could reproduce like a normal person but whats to say what it will look like or how it will be. It could be as theshining has said a creature, it could look normal, or it could be in an egg/sack. Really it does depend on what you are basing it off of.

You did not Post In my opinion...blah blah blah, you Posted it as a Statement. You also seem to like to change your "opinion" a lot. So I felt like I should let you see that before you go on.


Also, I do think that there is some Truth to Mythical Vampires. Because if there is NO Truth in them, then one can say there is no Truth in any Myth at all, which would sound really funny.

Or if we go back to the the so called originals, Cain and Lilith (if they are real or myth), didn't G_d turn them into vamps or demons? If this is true then only G_d can make vamps. Because they must be curse by G_d.

That is how you see it vampirika..as I've said in many other threads Vampire topic related it is and has been my opinion that vampires are just people with a different name mythological or not..they all started out that way. So again I do not see how any aspect of a phsyical nature would change in their offspring. See above post. :D

Isnt a Vampire a human who has died and become undead .... How can something undead reproduce , its dead!!!! The only reproducing a mythical vampire can do is bite someone to turn them yes?

If you speaking of RL Vampires then yeah they can reproduce , all mamals can!!!

Depends on which myth you look at I think.

In the main Hollywood vampire mythos, vampires can only reproduce by biting and giving their blood to their bitee.

In some books I've read, it is possible to become a vampire through a curse passed on down the generations, or as a kind of contagious disease.

But then all the above methods are not really reproducing so much as infecting.

I remember one book I read had vampires who were capable of reproduction via normal human means (ie. insemination) and the book made it very clear that unprotected sex between a male vampire and a human would be bad because the semen (as in all bodily emissions from a vampire) would have blood in it, which would then be absorbed by the human, and turn them into a vampire that way!

I can't remember any books or movies where vampires reproduced in the traditional means of having sex and making babies that way. Even in the Hellsing manga the baby Pip was turned after birth by feeding on Ceras' blood...

I believe that REAL mythical vampires do exsist, and I imagine that they can't reproduce because they are a walking corpse which would limit them in their bodily function.
If their hearts don't beat and they are almost purely a supernatural being, then I say they can't have babies.

Carvall, the movie was one I had submitted to the database, "Dark Town", The father of the baby was a vampire and the mother was normal human, she gave birth to a baby vampire. Good movie but very bloody.

Wow, sounds like a good movie. I am sure I've also read about Vampires mating, just can't recall where from the top of my head.

I am a real vampire and even if I don’t have any children yet I am pretty sure I can have children and they will be made the same way non vampires do and they will come out the same way…no doubt in my mind.

Well if you are talking about movies... it all depends on the author. Whatever the writer wants the writer gets.

I think it would depend on what myth you are reading or watching. Just in general I guess any species of anything would have to be able to reproduce somehow or the species would die off.
