Would, if there was a group in your area, which was offering services for community benefit and oppertunities. Take courses, offered in spiritual studies, and ritual techniques, as well as workshops and other events hosted within your community

I'm torn on this one. PArt of me would definitely be interested. I always up for learning. The other part of me would be leary. Something like this would undoubtedly draw media attention. With media attention come protesters. There is a rather large 'born again' faction here and it's bad enough when they assault busy intersections and bombard people passing through with liturature. If it could be kept on the low down I would attend. The other variable is subject matter. I would probably avoid something silly like meeting your inner lycan or trasnforming one's self into a bat.

Next question in this thread for those of you who would be learly of the opposition, what then if such a group was to open publicly through the forum of a religious Symposium held locally within the community for which the group would opperate. This would be able to be covered by local media. Allowing for a discussion on what the political views are in , foreseeable and non foreseeable future, What impact does ones anticipated existence with in the community hope to gain or achieve, through such services they offer the consumer, and their client base? etc....

yes i would get involved i would try to continue providing my schedule could handle it. its a form of education and we learn something everyday somethings to better us as people.

i guess it would depend upon who was doing the instructing and how qualified they were, what their credentials are and such, I mean you could get involved and find out too late that the person teaching has no real clue what they are doing or not.

I would like to get involved because being a well rounded individual is always a good thing, but you have to be careful as to who is giving the information

I would get involved to enrich my knowledge but also so I could aqssist others who may want to learn as well

if it were by people who knew what they were instructing well, and if they were experienced i believe i would. i enjoy learning and not just what text books tell us... i like to explore all areas of knowledge.

What would be the measure of if one could say they new what they were talking about?

Would you go to these workshops etc, to find out if the information was quality, as well as reading the materials and things which they provide for such references to the community.

There are many different classes and study groups and conventions and stuff like that all over my area all the time. I have yet to go to any but they are available if you check around. Sometimes you might have to call places that hold large conventions and the like. I have been searching for a few of my own to go to.

I would be interested because I'd enjoy the opportunity to learn but also have the concern of it simply being a way to see who isn't following the "right" way of thinking.

I live in the bible belt in a small town so the few concerns that have been tried in the past resulted in license plates being taken down of those who attended and it was more than enough to scare most off.

I would consider someone to know what they were talking about if they had been living it for some years or had written successfully of their ideals or were well known in the community as a person of their word.

I have some around but no in my immediate area,and yes I would if my personal realtionship would allow me such,she has deep seeded dislike for my way of life simply because she is insecure

I love to learn new things, so I would but I am already somehow helping and teaching, as I help a small group of poeple with whom we study anciant rune and also we were able to recently uncover some fake medium and another man who was pretending to see spirits but in fact was not.

So we are learning to make contact with the psirtual realm, and dealing with discover fakes and fraud.

i would, mainly 'cause it might be an opportunity to learn something more about one, or more subjects. plus it could add to my knowledge of how others view their surroundings & more.

If workshops of this type were offered in my area, I would love to go to one. However, the community I live in is pretty closed minded when it comes to activities that don't relate to the norm.

But then communities who are closed minded, are often persuaded to change by other cities who are adapting with the growth of the social trends.

Very true. With a boom town, you can always hope that ideals that were (in the past) not socially acceptable, will become more common.

I teach workshops with the Pagan communities we belong to in our area and at Festivals.

No i wouldn't because i prefer to learn on my own, reaching out for different perspectives only when i need to.

Absolutely! I believe there should be organizations within the community that individuals can turn to to be educated in the metaphysical. I would do what I could to promote awareness and positive thinking towards the cause.

There's actually a place in Lakewood(near Cleveland, OH) called Goddess Blessed that is a growing little store that holds different spiritual sessions. They also hold monthly gatherings at the time of the full moon. More places like GB should be developed, or at least groups of people gathering together to shed positive light into matters that people would normally turn away from.

Response to first question...This would be why said association was made to begin with would it not?

Response to second question...As I have always frowned upon media advertising since it merely leads to self gain, usually causing bigotry in the long run, then I would place myself as a "watcher" for the time being.

Since most media advertised groups are in it just for publicity (not naming obvious ones, for immediatly obvious reasons), they are usually dormant after a while, since their beliefs sometimes contradict the reasons why they were sanctioned from the start.

I think I would enjoy the Spiritual study, I enjoy reading about all kinds of religions.

Perhaps it would also go some way to educate people in such a way that there would be a greater tollerance of minorities in the community.

As for ritual ie magic etc, no I have no interest in that personally.
