What would happen if the whole thought process on the cycle of life and death as we know it was actually supposed to be viewed in reverse? What if we were all introduced to this world as non living beings and depending on what we do in this existence determines how we're actually born?
I think I understand what your asking. In the Celtic and Wiccan beliefs both life is a circle. What you do in one life determines what you will be in the next life till your destiny is fullfilled. Not sure if this is what you are talking about.
for lack of better (on my part) is what I was talking about, I was just curious, if life's a circle betwwen life and death, what would happen if it was proven that circle was ment to be veiwed in reverse, that life was actuall created death, let's say if you look at the birth Of Adam & Eve as the creation of how life began and in their death created the world we now live in with only difference being that what you do in this existence effects how you are actually born.
Sounds like the fast track to reincarnation which appeals to me because I'm impatient. Okay, so I'm dead. This thing I call life is death. What I do in death, that I think is life, influences me advancing to real life.
Still sounds too long. Is there a shortcut? A cheat sheet? A Life While Dead for Dummies?
Unfortunately, there are no trials followed by life itself. What you have is what you get. There are no if's and's or but's about it.
Sure, some religions believe in reincarnation, but one does not..."Satanism." these thinkers believe there is only one life, after this, death is an infinite. Therefore, to prove the validity of this theory incorrect would be a contradiction to a few living in a few of these religious ideals.
(Add in from last post.)
Unfortunately for us, there really is no prove for the speculative mind to act on...Since the travel from life to life via reincarnation cannot and has not been proven so therefore it is still theory and speculation for all time.
we are a form of energy and it has been proven energy can not be distroyed it only changes form ... im gonna answer this with a friends point of view not my own... he would say that dead we rot in the earth and turn to gas that goes upp in the air and this effects the enviroment like evaperaping water being absorbed into the clouds causen the rain would bring life ... yikes hope that helps some
Each time I read the question I interpreted it differently and had a different answer. I think there could be many responses to this that are right--but, the ones that are given would be different depending upon your Culteral/Religious beliefs.
There are two kinds of death--Clinical Death and Brain Death. Clinical Death refers to the cessation of heart beat and breathing; Brain Death is defined as irreversible unconsciousness with complete loss of brain function.
But to me both of them are physiological--not spiritual causes of death. Most of us (would like to) believe that once a body is dead--the spirit lives on whether it be in the non-corporeal sense or being reincarated into another "body".
This probably doesn't answer the question, but it was one that made me think.
I found the following quote while researching further. Kabbalah has an interesting concept as to the creation of the first souls and reincarnation:
-------
"The soul exists before it enters the body and it lives after the body is laid to rest."
The Key to Kabbalah-Reincarnation
You are saying that what we perceive as life may actually be truly perceived as the actual death state and it is through our actions here in this plane that determines how we are born into our real lives? Some believe this...especially in the spiritualist communities that what we perceive as life is really a dream state and what we pass into after what we call death...dropping the body...we are then truly alive. It's a very interesting thought and always has been but I think again like many things its just going to end up being a matter of perception. As a spiritualist I was told that life is not linear which we know from a scientific standpoint but it is like a sphere and we go in and out of incarnations. Most metaphysical people believe in a sort of oversoul which is the cumulation of all of our lives. When we get to a certain point we have the choice to move on past this to something else. It is similar to what someone called the circle of life on another thread in a way. Is it truly life...I don't know and I could only have an opinion but since we are all energy and energy only transforms I would say that everything is a stage of life, and death is only a transition from one to the other. This is my opinion. Most who seem to have memories of things are usually labeled nuts or scam artists. This is the truth so again I don't know what to say on this topic because truly I don't think it can be answered by anything more than speculation.
if our lifecycle is reversed then that would really be so wild just think of it..all who fear death are in originality fearing life itself.
i think either way it would be change from one transition to another and i don't think change is really all that bad.
The way the question is asked, it could be taken two ways.
One: Yes I believe in reincarnation. I believe that what you do during your life affects what you become in your next life.
Two: If life went backwards, I think people would have a lot of trouble living on their own.
i am also a believer of reincarntion so you can see where i might be a little confused if it was so that our life cycle is reversed.
i think we are just to about die and the scences we are playing out is just our lifes flashing before our eyes before we take our final bow. A short story was made of this forgot by who where during the civil war i believ a man was telling the strory of his life than snap his neck was broke by the noose of the hangmans rope.
What would happen if we started out dead, and ended up being born?
Honestly it's too insane for me to believe. We start off non-existant and end with death. If we're dead first, and we're in a heaven which is far better than earth, no one would want to live.
i belive our soul fuzers with a new vessel as where created. and after we die we leave the vessel but we have the freedom to go back and forth ad we choose
all i know is if what we now do determines the next, i think im screwed
I dont really think it matters how we read it. Both ways sound very confusing. Death is the start of a new life and a new life is the start of death.
i belive in the circle, what we do here determines what happens int he next life.
So the circle is backwards?? Death is the fast track-cool.
waiting to be born I hope. Who knows they say we have past lifes till we get good at it
very interesting, but not sure of what I think of the idea.
id be a test dummy. i mean hey why not.
challenge the norm
i like that idea, so your saying that what if we are dead now but it's like a trial and depending on what we do here if effects how we realy live when we're born, i think that would be awsome!
That is a very good question!
I think that when we die, we are reborn, so it is plausable that in fact as we die, or even if we are living that we could be waiting to be born.
I think that what we do in this life has to in some way effect what happens when we are done with this life other wise what is the point. If it didn't really matter what we did or how we lived then there wouldn't be a civilized society. If you could do anything you wanted to do we would be in for a rude awakening. We are violent need creatures. We want things we can not have and we always want what someone else has. We like to fight over things just to prove ourselves.
That is why no matter what you believe people are taught that it matters what you do and how you act.
I think you are right it does matter, like reincarnation, if you do bad you come back as something that is ugly.
Nihil novis apud solis.
I think it was a science-fiction book with this subject.
I don`t remember the author.... maybe Bradburry, but I am not sure.
I agree with MrsWeiland. as I usually do. I believe that what we do in this life determines what happens after we die. With that being said, it doesn't make a difference. I just try to be as good of a person as I possibly can. Either way, I think that what we do now determines what happens to us later.
your question presumes a fate after this life that depends upon what one does in this life...that really doesnt, as you suggested, view everything in reverse according to most religions. That aside, since we dont really know what would happen after death when we are either "good" or "bad" or somesuch in this world the whole thing is kind of moot, is it not?
I would have to agree with all of the different views that have been posted. I don't see how life and death could be reversed in this manner. But then again anything would be possible.
Well, no it isn't. I think it is a plausible thought. What he is saying is what if we aren't really alive in a sense, and are just waiting to be born...And what happens after death is the life that really matters, and is determined by what we do now...
Yeah, that would be a good way of putting it, what if it was, as of yet we do not know. But is a good opinion on the subject, so what seems like life is accutally not as we are waiting for life to start?
i find interesting that i had the exact thought a few years back, i thought that this life was just a beginning to an extended life, the universe is to vast for just one life time
i decide to live as though this is the only chance i have at life. i live like theres no afterlife and no reincarnation.
Now i havent i have always thought that this is it, but i am open to opinion, we dont know much about death, so it is hard to say, all we know is that we die.
thats true, and i think thats why everyone is so fasinated with death is because only the dead know about it and they can't tell us anything, so we are curious about it
I have sit with someone as the past this world and i think they was more a live then they was when they was a live
Wow what a new concept! The human mind is an amazing thing always working and always trying to fathom how life works and how the universe revolves and operates.
This is a fantastic concept and if I read you correctly your saying that life is really death and us waiting to be born into a life on some other plane of existence. This is the limbo we all hear about from different cultures and religions. How fascinating and idea! I rather love it.
For some reason this makes me want to clap and dance as the concept is interesting and who knows maybe even plausible.
We really don't know do we, all we can do is keep living and keep trying hard to work out the meaning to it all and how things really work!
I strongly believe in reincarnation as I believe the soul is eternal and continually goes from life to life not just here on this earth plane either, as it grows and learns and returns to the universal energy that created us to begin with, with what it has learned.
People have proved that they have had another life. Ages ago i watched a documentary about a 'BOY' he cant have been more than 15, he had never been to this place he was going to but was adamant that he had.He showed the camera crew where he used to live, exactly where without 'uming and areing' he just walked straight there.
If this 'boy' doesnt show life after death is real then god he must be messed up.
I have rea it ove and over again and yes it ca be take a few different ways
Yez I do believe in reincarnation, my son who was 5 at the time continued for weeks to ask me when he was going to see his other family again, so i finally asked him to draw a picture of this family, he was so detailed about it, so yes i do believe there is life after death.
and that it is the cycle that we follow . Karma does play a big role in in my opinion and i think alot of people are going to be living it over and over again due to their actions
The way I see it from what you asked I would be growing... Ive found myself mentally I'm not sure how to explain it I guess you would say that I'm mentally mature but still growing as everyone will until the day they die
Perhaps these are just labels for conditions we don't fully understand. The skeptic will fall back on "there is no proof" and there isn't except anecdotal. Reincarnation is believed by MILLIONS of people in the world who couldn't all be loony for it. It is a religious belief and not quite the same as some of the newer age sometimes represent it but still it isn't some fly-by-night idea. Having studied some of these concepts for about 45 years I am afraid my skepticism is not as high as perhaps it might have been when I was younger. I have seen and experienced things. I belonged to IANDS in San Diego and listened to live people talk about their NDEs and what they experienced and how they changed them. I have friends who are associates of Dannion Brinkley and he was miraculously changed and he was dead for 20 minutes. He actually died twice. I think they would be good in debates like this. Many express not wanting to come back. It can't be all that bad, lol. Each of us will not know until it happens...Life and Death are just words. We have attached them to conditions we don't really understand. When someone dies whatever the essence is of that person generally leaves and we don't know if we can or how we can in most cases contact that person and the death is separation...differing states of being, which for the average person isn't accessible. So, are we living here in a classroom of sorts learning so we can then be born into our true world or perhaps to another classroom in some other state of being or dimension. None of us know these answers we only have beliefs and I believe in some things I stated because I have known people who have been declared dead and come back.
As far as Satanism, its just another philosophical idea and depends on which type is meant. LaVeyan I pay no heed because I was alive when he was and I know what he did. It's ok because its a concept like many. There are many traditionalist now so its a matter of philosophy but that has nothing to do with this topic of could we actually be in a death state and waiting to be born. Possibly reincarnation but still it is a belief like most religious beliefs. It does stem from a religion. I just think it is semantics and perception.

It's a cool thought. lol.. I'd like to be able to say that I'm already dead and waiting to be born. Gives me something to look forward to. lol
Without Form How Could We Affect Very Much Let Alone Do anything?
I'm Confused
to me it sounds like your saying that we are alll experimental and being tested, that we were created for tests,
The question is rather illogical. If what we did in life depended on how we would be born our birth would be our death ... that's kind of confusing and doesn't sound how It's supposed to be.
Hmmmmm, sounds like a vicious circle to me, have to be born to ever be dead last I checked.
