Is there a particular diet, types of foods etc., that you find more conducive to a clearer, more focused mind for magical workings?

I'd be interested to hear what you all have to say concerning that.
Thanks!

well, tea has always helped me. but I'm not quite sure because I never really payed attention to what I was doing outside of my rituals/spells to affect them.

I find that going to a semi fast while eating vegan or close to vegan food is great for clearing the mind:) No stimulants of any kind too.

I think it just helps to sharpen the mind and I guess if the blood isn't being used in the digestive process, it is going to the brain:) I have found fasting really helps me in meditations.

Eating a variety of healthy foods ensures that you'll have enough energy to concentrate. The foods that are good for your body are also good for your mind, so a well-balanced diet with lots of vegetables, fruits, water and natural foods and beverages is the way to go. Taking daily vitamin supplements and getting proper sleep doesn't hurt either.

Anyone could give an answer on that that would work for them... Some believe in eating babies, live animals and hearts. Others are quite happy to work with a Chai tea and a kale and lemongrass stew.

Do not eat babies, them full of s.... Try eating food with low or no sugar, additives, fake coloring. Makes it easy on the body to handle & easy for you to do what you wish. Junk in junk out is the old saying.

Okay, I have a question -- how does ones diet affect their ability to channel or whatever it is they do magically? Does it truly make more of a difference than the power of the individual in question??

Organic food is very good, especially if you have grown it for yourself. A very balanced diet. If you don't have to worry about your weight or your health your mind is free and you can concentrate on more important things.

I like tea with honey in it that helps me clear my mind a lot and helps me focus. Hot tea with honey in it helps me, but you just have to find what helps you the most.

StarrOfCrimson - the thread isn't about a 'magical diet' to aid weight loss. The original post is asking if there are diets (as in certain foods, not a planned diet) to aid in magical work - hence the name.

I found that eating lots of natural earth grown foods is useful if you are doing any type of nature magic, and for me, red meat like steak works well too :-D

Most people will say that a system free of tobacco and alcohol will also aid in the best 'production'. A clean system. And it seems to work for just being plain healthy too :)

Fasting will not help you focus better. Studies have proved that fasting people are unfocused and slow due to the fact that your body has no energy to work with.

I detox my system using white tea and craneberries.

I find that swimming and other sports helps your concentration. Back in the days I was always more focused after I came home from whatever sport I was doing.

The better the diet, the clearer the mind. If you have a good diet, such as not eating sugar. Eating organic foods only, and exorcising on a regular basis. Everything including mental abilities to perform magic will improve greatly.

The question was pretaining to a magical diet, not your diet or what you think is healthy. Off topic posts will be deleted.

the best diet for doing magic or making yourself open to it is just fruit and vegetables stay away from meats and other animal products for at least a day before doing any magical workings and you will find yourself more able to conduct the energy needed for it.

I'm diabetic, so fasting messes me up when I'm trying to concentrate. I do better with things like chicken broth ( I make my own so as to control the salt and fat ) or a good herbal tea. I also make a special bread that is whole grain with no yeast. I also find that the time of day helps my concentration almost more than what I eat or drink. I concentrate better in the early morning, say shortly after sunrise or around midnight depending on the kind of day I've had. Hope that helps a little bit. Maybe try different times of day to see if it helps your concentration at all.

I always feasted before a MAJOR spell or ritual. When food is in the stomach, the body relaxes to take time to digest which allows you to concentrate more on the spell/ritual instead of worring about a messed up stomach or it growling at you.
On small spells I will simply keep an apple or maybe a few things of chocolate plus soda/milk/orange juice. I use frozen coffee. Ur just trying to get yourself to relax so that you can focus.

What you eat wouldn't have any affect on how well your magick works. That comes from the heart of the practioner. But for the sake of arguement that it did, then eating a well balanced meal or just fruits and vegetables should do it.

I guess that just a healthier diet in general would help?
Fruit and veg and all that :P lol

But I would also assume that to maintain a clearer mind for those types of things you would have to eat things that are kind of "exotic" so to speak.
I don't really know why I think that, I guess that it would just be something out-of-the-ordinary to reflect the magical/darker side of the individual.

If it concerns to meditation, light food like veggies and tea as one of our sisters said, it´s a good combination...
i personally dont eat red meat, i mean cow or pork... i prefer the poultry... fish and seafood...
also water is good before starting a ritual... as a cleaning pre ritual... but i know that everyone has their own ways... :)
