What guides you most when you hunt? Your sense of smell? Your sight? Energies? What leads you to your favorite "snack"... Personally, I am lead by scent first, and then energy. It they dont "feel" right I can't feed from them. Or if you're a monogamus vampire, what makes you choose that one special...someone.

Always the energy signature. I have a taste for 'shiny' people.

Like a magpie, but for people.

Of course, when you get close to someone and they don't smell too good, it kinda puts a person off.

Well, as far as the energy, I like a person who's like a livewire...its almost a buzz around them. I find myself drawn to football games and clubs for that. As far as smell...the smell I love the most is almost flowery, but with a spicy undertone. It is really common among girls.

Have you ever tried to feel with only energy? Let it guide your movements?

The energy is what I look for first. If that can not be found then its the scent of spice & sweets combined. Almost like a chocolate combined with a hint of spice.
the energy though, is what I crave more then anything though.

I too, need a feeling from a certain person in order to get a feeling off feeding from them. There's just a certain feeling right when you look at them that lets you know that they can understand the lifestyle and accept it. Though I don't act upon a lot of the feelings i get toward people because my boyfriends... well, yeah, he doesn't like the idea of me with other people.

Hunting is one of my favorite subjects. LOL And yes people can hunt people. And it can be fun for both parties involved. But that is a topic for another discussion. LOL As for me seeking out those that can fill that certain energy need. I feel a pull. It is not just a scent, but a pull. There are too many factors that come into play to explain. But I can feel more than thier energy. I can almost predict thier thoughts and actions.

a mix of both energy and smell heighten the scenses, , not perfume but the actaul scent of the bodie, pheromones always intune. and the energy they put off.

The best time to hunt is when you want to do it, so you'll commit more to it. What attracts you to someone is different for everyone. It could be anything from looks to energy.

From what I understand it is a combination of the smell and energy that drives those who i know to hunt. Also they prefer to hunt at night or somewhere private to do it as to keep themselves from view.

Yes. Keeping away from crowds is good to a point. But one has to learn to seperate prospects from the herd. And you would be suprised how easy it can be to get lost in the crowd an sweep away with your prey in hand. You just got to know where you feel comfortabe hunting. And how to use the enviroment to your advantage. >;]

i mark my victim on internet. people near me. i find people in my city or around city then know them and let them know me to. i always feed from victim that want to be mine. we don't have any cntract he or she just give to me consented. i don't attack people their blood are better when they are in thrust with me. it's sweeter^^

Following my own rule "Never reveal how feeding works", I will instead tell a story.

At work the other night, an individual comes into my establishment and asks if I am a vampire, I ask them how they think they know what a vampire is...Their answer? It was quite stereotypical actually. This individual seemed as though I looked like a vampire. I gave that blank stare as if looking through them instead of at them, they thought my energy was off a bit, darker than others around me.

How this deals with the "hunt", I will explain...Since this individual was accustomed to dealing with energy patterns, which not nessessarily makes them a "psi-vamp" or some stupid B.S. like that...Names are names after all.

Anywho, they knew my energy patterns and therefore was trained to descern positive from the negative...Mind you, the positive field vs. negative field has little to nothing to do with emotions. These fields are for spiritual or ethereal suggestion alone, they have little to nothing to do with the aura outright.

This individual then asked if I liked the taste of "blood", which I specifically stated, it depends on the individuals diet really. Since meat makes the blood thicker, if the individual is on medication, then it is tainted a bit and is not worth the "bite" so to speak. Vegetables create a sweat sort of taste where as candies create a very bitter taste.

All in all, I have already answered the question. Though specifically, it depends on my mood...As well as the time of day/night.

Energy can come from anyting when feeding, desperate times can call for desperate measures...just curious about people's take on humans, but if you have an alternative choice feel free to discuss.

It happens in the midst of a club setting or rush hour train traffic so as far as the hunt....it kind of happens on its own right now.
I can kind of sense energies on a small scale. Subtle things about a person, normally their scents attracts me. I will normally smell them before I see them.

Also on the subject of other ways of feeding.....A heavy rain/ Thunder & Lightning storm is definately a rejuvinating experience for me.

I believe its something you always have in you, whether or not you chose to embrace it or not is up to the individual.

I do not consider myself a Vampire. I feed in a Vampiric way, but I am not a Vampire. I consume all energy, as well as meat and blood. Carnivouristic is how I prefer to refer to myself.

When i look for energy it needs to be a happy hyper type. As for hunting, I like my victims to be aware of me but not my intentions. Thus seduce and feed. And smell is key to me. The smell of a person greatly impacts on deciding if I want them.

well i am not a vampire so dont have such hungryness for blood. however i think vampires do need blood for their survival and they get their whole energy through it.

I prefer scent, I always know a fresh kill just by the scent and there are times when it drives me nuts, I am not one to drink real human blood ( for purposes of blood borne infections these days) but in fact drink my own blood. My preferance tho is that of the blood of animals through eating med rare cooked meat.

As many have said, there is a scent. I cannot describe it but I know it instantly, and I am drawn to it, sometimes without even knowing. Although I much prefer blood I say to energy on most occasions.

My opinion is this...feeding is different by individual. Those brought up in various areas with a view to a certain type of belief will think this is how it is and for them it is very true. There is a lot of information out there. I am one who does not believe in hunting or at least in the stereotypical way. I'm sorry but in my mind it is akin to role playing but aren't we all doing that in our very own way by how we present ourselves? I will leave it at that. I don't like labels either of psi or sanguine. It created elitism. I think I use to hunt when I went to clubs but I didn't call it that it just happens naturally and people are attracted to you for reasons they don't understand. (in my experience, maybe not yours)

I would say smell and energy$ if they have mass amounts of energy then i am bound to get theirs and feel energized. and if they smell good all the better.

Sounds pretty ridiculous to me, but if I WERE a vampire- I'd probably find people the same way I look for companions in human reality. Places of common interest.

A different kind of hunt. I think what some people find odd about this is this kind of hunt is after people to prey upon. Take away the metaphors and analogies about human social interaction and listen to the question; if someone asked you this question in an elevator it would throw you off big time. People are just having the same kind of reaction here.

I have no secrets so I shall tell all. If a vampire is hunger driven they will feed on anyone in any manor. I personaly have many ways to feed. I can feed on lust wether I am in it or feeding off of someone elses lust, I can feed on fear, anger, rage, happiness, any emotion I can feed on. I also feed on blood but I do not need it all the time because of all the other ways I can feed.

OK. Vampires are DEAD. So are you saying that you are a re animated corpse that feeds on human blood? If the answer is yes than what about your parents? And to say that vampires are top of the food chain is somewhat untrue. Ever encounter a lion in the jungle? Or a rabid saint bernard?

The vampire gene can skip generations for one. no we are not dead we are alive but not quite like those that are human. We don't need permission we take what we want. we can drink holy water but it tastes stale we can wear crosses and eat garlic I love it. We can walk in a church if we so chose we can also walk in the sun too but I do burn easy. We see better at night and are naturaly predators.

LOL I have noticed that people take this whole hunting way too personaly. So one person calls another food. Would it be any easier if they wer called a "Rube". They same hunting techniques one use to hunt food are used by people like used car sales men, con artists, and sales marketing advisers. You target a specific group. You look for those that best fit what you need. You single them out and then work out an approach. Besides. Does it make you feel any different that the tiger in the local zoo looks at you as food too? Does it make you anyless a threat? The water buffalo is still food but can be very dangerous when defending itself. You ae food to me. I am food to someone else. All is relevent to the person hunting. LOL

Okay. I can see this discussion has gotten COMPLETELY out of hand. I want to clarify what I mean by "hunt". It is easier to say hunt than to say, "How do you go about finding people that are willing to share their energy source and blood with you if you are a sanguine or psy vampire, because I really want to know how you do choose, and if you don't ask the person, where do you go and what leads you to a specific place for your "fix"." See, saying hunt is a hell of a lot easier. I don't thinnk of anyone as sheep or anything other than an equal. I don't think of myself as inhuman. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Okay joking aside..... I don't hunt for energies... I'm usually sought out and I lend my energies. I help my parents through everyday life with my energies... And MAN it makes me tired.

the key for me is to have an enstent conection with the porson but only girls i woold never drink from i guy but my sealf

for me it's not like the book ( you fly and bite someone ) nope it's the heart beat, the scent. the energy all of those senses and how a person respond to yur call ... but no need to hunt in 2008 now have donors !!! easier that way

what drives me to food quickist is the energy and then how fun i think it will be to hunt that person

first im a sang vamp (dont let the name fool you folks lol), altho i also feed off of energy without the blood, sexual being the most potent (no pun intended).

i prefer to hunt in night clubs, i love the webs of energy that surround me and i wait till one persons (or on occasion more than one) energy calls to me. i also run on scent...i couldnt explain that, but im very scent oriented. too much cologne will make me flee gagging! lol

ok, here is what i look for....

When i need energy, i look at the aura, you don't want a dirty aura, its the aura/astral presence that i feed on when blood cannot be aquired. So i am very selective.

When i am looking for blood, i look at how the person treats their body. Not too skinny, not fat, athletic, fit toned that sort of thing, and i always have swans tested for HIV/AIDS!

I feed in every form, there is nothing you can do to deter the desire.

I have yet to feed for the first time, but when i walk i can see the auras.. i dont know if its diffrent for other people but the lighter the color the the calmer i am around them.. when i feed for the first time i will right back..

Me, I'm simply drawn to large amounts of energy, like what you find at concerts and clubs and stuff. But sometimes I can find the same large mass of energy coming off of one person.

Not just scent.... but more.... like a heartbeat...but not just the heartbeat. To say energy is an over simplification.... More of a pulse...yes, a pulse. Not just from the prey... from the wind which carries the physical scent, from the bricks and pavement that rebounds the hearts beating, and yes the pulse.... when the prey wants you as much... if not more than you want them.

as i hunt i normally feel some sort of energy flux when i get near my pray. as i move in on it, the flux gets stronger and i srike

so depending on the prey we are drawn by different senses to them and not just the sight of the individual.

the pull i feel is much like sexual arousal, a strong, primal feeling tugging at my body...and even my spirit.

my method of hunting is much like seduction. i tell those i am attracted to exactly what i seek....and often they volunteer for the experience LOL.

I've never really thought about it before. I reach out for a pulling feeling and follow it if it is intense enough. I observe a little and maybe flirt. I'm standoffish and shy so if I get close enough, smell seals the deal. Scent puts me over my confident edge of control. Scent seems to ramp up my want.

sexual hunting, so basically the allure of the oppistie sex draws one to feed and not just a depiction of another person. so basically singularity hunting, only one kind. what happens when you have no one for this.

if there is no one to focus on to feed on, then i will go into a crowd and feed on the ambiant energy. it is energy, but as ive said before, its without flavour for me...boring.

"Hunting", as you refer to it, stalking someone, then attacking them... It's against the Vampyre's Code of Ethics, not to mention just uncivilized.

You know, it doesn't hurt to ask, or find a WILLING donor. This is not some Anne Rice novel, don't go running around at night stalking and feeding on people. You could get yourself into a lot of trouble, as well as lose the respect of your peers.

The way i'm intune..

The activation of my senses by the energy.
The perception of the way it intregrate with the stimulation..
The intensity and strength it stimulating ....

There are a lot of things to consider as a vampire. I know that the perception among those who don’t know better is that vampires are completely unethical leeches that take without consideration. I have a lot of consideration here to think about. I know that it’s generally considered “uncouth” to go about just randomly feeding off people without their knowledge. I know that this is generally unacceptable, even among vampires.

But there are other considerations to take in as well. Such as isolation and the degree of separation from others of my kind. I am not interested in joining other social groups and covens or houses. I am interested in maintaining my autonomy. For the most part, I am looking for a local donor, someone I can pull from steadily. But I also get the impression it might need to be more than one person at a time. I just don’t know without getting to a more normal point.

I can probably pull off once a week if I get appropriate rest and proper nourishment otherwise. The stress levels are incredible, and that’s part of what causes the energy to fluctuate. The other thing: my team that I lead at work. A few of them are rather draining to be around and interacting with them for the periods of time that I must causes a drain on my own reserves. So that’s part of where the problem lies.

With the given energy drains, I think I can work with once a week. Provided its a solid connection and a solid feed.

Next to consider: randomly picking people is out of the question. I generally have to go among people I know and have met and have interacted with. I don’t think it presents a problem if I alternate between them. Still, it nags a little bit that I’m sipping off the top without their knowledge. Well except for the one I can’t connect with. But again that’s anticipated.

What happens when one can’t find a regular donor that they can connect with? What happens when one is isolated to the degree that I feel? I’ll be perfectly honest. A donor to me doesn’t consist of a sexual relationship, though I know that is something that is powerful. I’m not looking for a relationship like that right now. Given where I am, I need to be as drama free as I can be. You can see where the ethics come into play. It’s probably first and foremost in my mind.

Those who aren’t as aware of vampirism will ask, “Well why not feed off the energy of elements/ animals/ spirits?” It’s just not the same. The energy is not the same between plants, animals, and humans. Spirits might be interesting. But dangerous. And I’m certainly not of the level where I’m ready to try hunting astral baddies down for the purpose of draining them. I don’t know what it would do, and I don’t know that they wouldn’t fight back. I also don’t know that it wouldn’t leave me worse for wear for having attempted it to start.

Enough on the subject for now. Am going to try and pull in preparation for what’s to come this week. I wonder if I could sustain with astral ambient energy? Always a thought to try. For me, it's always the energy of a person that draws me closer. I tend to spot these people in public. They are people I know in my day to day activities. I can find their energy signature regardless once I am on the astral plane.

The energy is definitely what lures me. I love people with bright colors. Makes me want to bite them even more. ^^

You said that it is not the same, I would agree to this in some point. Depections in books and movies show fabled Vampires to feed of animals.

Much like a lower glasss of wine compared to a high priced wine. When things are isolated and not to be found, vampires must have the energy to keep going.

Firstly, I would rather no one respond to this post. Everyone has taken my words as a hostile thing. IF any of you know ANYTHING about energy, AT ALL you will understand that unless you're in a coven or in an area rich with people who won't try and kill you or similar it's not always possible to find willing donors. DUH. So, there is hunting. Not " MMM a tasty morsel just walked down a dark alley" hunting, but this kind.

Energy can be found in many areas, NOT JUST IN THE HUMAN BODY. If you let your senses carry you, you can find the best source in an area. SOMETIMES you can feed from a person and not hurt them, and they wont know. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PSYCHOTIC F**KING LEECH TO DO THIS!!!! NOT EVERYONE HAS THE LUXURY OF A SWAN. They don't need to know what you are. They can be your friends, boyfriends, etc. Or someone you happened to meet in a hall at school, who smelled so good you couldn't help to get a taste. I don't rape and pillage energy. I don't attack people. I SURVIVE.

A lot of energy is expended. If you are in a room of people especially if you are of a certain type you will naturally take this in. It is what is done by most and for some unconsciously. Everyone takes in energy. Calories are energy units from food. Vampires just take in energy from a wider source because they need it. The vibration is different. All can be very predatory and it just depends on the person and their own philosophies how they will view things and also if they are actively interacting in the scene or a House, Temple or Order. It's really nothing scary and has been done for a very long time, most just didn't know about it. Everyone hunts whether they believe they do or not. I have never used a donor...all I will say. Sex appeal is at the top of the list and some get energy by using that. I won't go into detail.

I will act aggressively toward you now...There is no such thing as the term "swan" this is a "black veil" term used by the countless individuals that think they are vampires and "roleplay" the life.

No one is after you, society maybe like that in the "redneck" area of the woods, such places as Arkansas, Kentucky and or Mississippi (my apologies for any offensiveness coming from my stereotyping here.) where they tend to hunt down and ask questions later.

Civilization does not do this unless the individual takes it upon themselves to cause criminal offenses. At that time, they are taken in by the local authorities.

Definitely aura as energy and the spirit, the mass of prana called spirit peepal feed on along with aura this leads to additional means of feeding its called emotion and sensual feeding of conscious. but i do not feed on human coz my psych love to feed on cosmic space.

I goes to dark space and there i become beast by subconscious when unable to handle the load of space energy and you can not believe that time my inner starts long roaring continuously and after that to balance it i get merged into space and star other type of feeding... yes i dire merging in space too. that time every objects you will feel you passes through...

Yes energy, but for me it's also attraction. The more I am attracted to them, sometimes makes them more worthy candidates. It could also be that they happen to be there and maybe have no real inhibitions & have their guard down and so they are an easy feed in that case. Really, when it comes down, their are a number of situations and types that can cause me to hunt them.

Ah the flirt factor is laways nice to hunt if and only if your single.. if you arent single then flirting is just wrong to hunt for energies and whatnot.. I am nice to everyone and always ask polite.. I do not bug others and i am never mean or nasty if turned down.

I do not know. Flirting does not only have to be used if single. It depends on the relationship between the two. I have know several hunting couples who hunt together using flirtatious methods. *Chuckles gently* To some it is just a natural instinct and behaviour.

My husban is my favorite. But as for hunting, I pick up energy as I move into groups of people (The energy is left). Friends give me energy willing with out ever knowing. I never take from the persons without asking.

Well for me its the Energy.
I can sense it very well .

I tend to be drawn to certain people and in most cases certain people are drawn to me.

For example:

About three weeks ago, I was at the local drugstore with my mom picking up her Rx

And I was a bit in need, so next thing I know this lady who worked there started talking to me, and I felt her Energy radiate from her It was nice, like a cool drink of water.

She was so full of life I hoped at least the ambient would be enough for me. Because I try not to take anything other than ambient without asking.

Well, after talking to her for about five minutes, my mom was ready and we checked out. The lady who I was talking to waited on us and when she gave me the reciept she placed her hand on mine, and held it for about 45 seconds I got a rush of Energy.

I have never talked to this woman before in my life. lol The whole time I was thinking, " I wish I could get more than ambient" lol

Then it happened.

I don't think it was a coincedence. After I awakened I noticed if I put my mind to it I can make things happen.
