The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Reading, I would say, has once again become very popular indeed. Though despite the many variety's in book's, the many takes on each genre, What to you, would consist of the perfect Paranormal & Fiction Series?

For me, It would have to be mainly hollywood style vampire's, with all the magic, werewolves and demons thrown in. Of course, it would have to consist of an Adult nature (To keep things interesting)
Trouble is, I'm yet to find something like this =/

So...What would be your Perfect Series to read?

I have to have something slightly fantastical. The darker side of faeries is perfect for me.

A book needs to have intrigue, and not be predictable.
I definitely agree with things of an adult nature =p
I need a really interesting character. they don't have to be nice, or benevolent, but interesting enough that I fall in love with them. I'm in love with at least one character from all of my favourite books.
There has to be a little bit of romance, but happy endings all the time annoy me greatly.
Like I said, "faery storys" have to be my favourite at the moment, but if I want to settle in with something so good it's cheesy, it has to be good old vampire lit, sex scenes and all =)

I would think that Tanya Huff Blood book would be good. But maybe you should have a lok at the VR database at the book section.. that might help.

Sci-Fi and Fantasy books are great ways to see comments on current political trends and other current events. Even though these books may be written it a time of yore or in the dstant future

I enjoy a vampire book that has all kinds of mythical creatures and lots of activity. It has to be action packed. I have a list of authors you might want to check out.

I would have to say that I am very fond of Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series, it's funny and upbeat and full of all the things that I like in a good read

Everyone seems to be getting a thing for that stephene mayer person, i bought the first book, read the first chapter...And went straight back to harry potter >.

I think it needs to be something original, but not something too farfetched, which many books are these days.

I love to read, I have so many books, its my favorite thing to do , anytime.My favorite was ann rice froa long time i think i have every one of her books and a few of them are signed
But i like Dean Koonz though as well, been reading them for a long time.

I really like Graham Joyce, though Dark Sister is such a great book .

I like something that has a ring of truth to it. A book based on something that "could" happen even if we are not sure just to as how yet. Something that can send chills up my spine.

my mom is reading a book that has all of that vampires demons werewolves shape shifters and all i havent read it yet but it sounds interesting

I dont really care what I read or what it is about. As long as it has a great story line and it is a book I find hard to put down then I will read it without a care. I am not into love stories etc a good horror will be great.

FacelessUnknown I have not read anything by JR Ward perhaps you have one in particular that you would like to recomend for me to read. what are the authors books about.

Like the masses, I am totally into The Twilight Saga currently :)

I have rediscovered Ann Rule, I know she is not a Paranormal fiction writer but her books, about murder cases are just as scary the last one I read was Dead By Sunrise. It had a sort of spooky "message from beyond" feel to it. A definitely stranger then fiction person Brad Cunninham was.

The book Vampires among Us is the best.. i loved it..

I think Ann Rice has some great books out and they hold you to them .I do not like to read but i like hers not sure if you will.

Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson Series.

Werewolves for neighbors, vampire friends who love scooby doo, faerie mentors and native american walkers. Set in the now. Difficult love life...the works.

I love them and i think you'd enjoy them too!

I've also just finished a book by Jeanienne Frost called 'halfway to the grave' and i can highly recommend it. It's the first in the night huntress novels;)

When I read a book, anything that can suck me in, capture my interest, and make me crave more is what I'd consider a good book. Furthermore, if I can read it a dozen times and still want more... that, to me, is perfection.

I absolutely LOVE the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. There are more 'adult' ones that I like too though. I really love Angela Knight's books. She does a series that includes Master of the Night, Master of Swords, Master of Wolves, Master of Dragons...etc. Her's were very interesting to me because of her spin on the King Arthur story. Don't worry it has all the great paranormal stuff, witches, vampires, werewolves, dragons....

Oh yes, I completley forgot about that series. 'master of swords' was brilliant, my personal fav:)

Something that catches my eye with ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witches, well basically anything that is of a dark nature or paranormal.

Ann Rice- the books that she has written on vampires.

Terry Brooks- his love for magick and things that might be unnatural to some. The Shanara series and landover series.

Ann McCafferety (SP) - The books about magick and dragons that she has written.

its Wicca by Cate Tiernan, my god it is so good! and the books take like half a day a day to read!!!

Chuck Palahniuk , this guy is out of this world, in everything he writes. hinting at some crazy stuff through-out every book, time travel, multiy prsonalities, possession..

My daughter started reading a series of books with the wizard of oz themes a few years ago. One was about the wicked witch before she was wicked I think. It sounded really neat. Also, there was a series of Alice in wonderland books that were beyond the regular story. I THINK it was that. I will have to ask her. But I think they were pretty risque, as the store chick said they were for advanced readers, meaning older.

I like epic series like "The Dragon Reborn" series. It has to be detailed, with the boundaries to fantasy pushed to new limits but still believable as if you were really there and choking on the dust from the horse in front of you. The types of fantasy creatures in it is immaterial to me. Although I do go for more of a fantasy fiction type book over a sci fi book.

I like what you have said faceless unknown and what reaper to has said. But lately i have been readinf Stephen Laws books and I think his books made into movies would be ok if done propley.

I would recoment the A kiss Of Shadows seiries by Laurell K Hamilton those books rock

I love the vampire in both Laurell K Hamilton and Anne Rice series of book, The Laurell K Hamilton books because because she adds all sorts of weres in her vampire tales and Anne Rice because she brought a whole new idea to the vampire genera which has influenced many other writers. =)

I don't think there is a Perfect seires, out of all the books i have read there are parts of each different vampire i like and parts that don't fit. it is a matter of who the person is and what they like to read
