Cancer - the prince
YES this has been addressed .. please go back and read through the threads people .. it's not that difficult to do .. this is a Vampire site, do you not think that things like this is addressed .. not to mention, there is a very good ANSWER to this question if you click on the link "WHAT IS A VAMPIRE? over on the left side of y'r screen ...
Tales of the dead craving blood are ancient. In Homer's Odyssey, for example, the shades that Odysseus meets on his journey to the underworld are lured to the blood of freshly sacrificed rams, a fact which Odysseus uses to his advantage to summon the shade of Tiresias.
Some Slavic peoples believed in vampires as early as the 4th century. In their mythology, a vampire drank blood, was afraid of (but could not be killed by) silver, and could be destroyed by cutting off its head and putting it between the corpse's legs, or by putting a wooden stake into its heart.
Medieval historians and chroniclers Walter Map and William of Newburgh recorded the earliest stories of English vampiric activity in the 12th century.
In popular western culture, vampires are depicted as unaging, intelligent, and mystically endowed in many ways. The vampire typically has a variety of notable abilities. These include great strength and immunity to any lasting effect of any injury by mundane means, with specific exceptions. Vampires can also change into a mist, wolf, or bat; and some can control the minds of others. They typically have extended canines or fangs.
It is believed that vampires have no reflection, as traditionally it was thought that mirrors reflected your soul and creatures of evil have no soul. Fiction has extended this belief to an actual aversion to mirrors, as depicted in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula when the vampire casts Harker's shaving mirror out of the window.
Well Lilith, is widely considered to be the fisrt 'immoratal' Vampire female...
'Lilith is said to be the first immortal in history, or the mother of all demons, and she was also a seductress. Not only would she strangle baby infants (could've been cot death), she would seduce dreaming men would could in turn become her victim. Because of this, Lilith is sometimes referred to as a Succubus, a demon who seduces men into breeding with her, then killing them and drinking their blood. All this she would do at night'.
But there are many conflicting 'stories' about this....
As for the first male Vampire, i'm happy to belive that it would have to come from the Slavic region, as they seem to have the richest vampire folklore and legends in the world..
I agree with Dhampir. The first Vampire, was. indeed, Lilith.
yes people this has been done...but in defense of the poster of this one I myself will only go back 4 pages looking at old posts.....maybe you have more wasteable time than most...but for those of us on dialup.......it becomes problematic at best
so deal with it
ouch...that was harsher than I usually am.....but deal with that too
my money is on lilith or caine
the ancient texts never did actually define either's curse well
Fiesty people, get back on subject.
from Fiesty Mistress Moreish that wants to finish reading all the forum, have a shower and boink the night away......
Ps, my contribution..... my vote is with Cancer, he can nibble on my neck any day!
on one of the other forums (vampire fact or fiction) i used this question and it was sum rushin
Dail up-- i'd cut off my nuts before i went back to that!! (2mb here..mmhmm..)
Really I think its all what you belive in I have heard many stories about the first and a bunch of tem right here in this forum. The one that always pops in my mind because it was the first I ever heard whenI was around the age of 5 was Lilith the mother of all demons. I dont really know shes surpose to be Eves sister form Adam and Eve. Im not really sure about who would really be the first though. All I know is it happened and I would love to met them.
If you wanna know where I learned the first Vampire ever...Read the BOOK OF NOD. It's a great account the the first vampire.
Great thread my dear.. I would go with the story of Lillith. However that would contrast with my not believing in Christianity's teachings, so I guess Im open to new ideas...
Does it matter who was the first? We have people on here questioning if they even exist? And if you do know, how can it be correct, think about it, anyone can type in "the first vampire" into a search engine and get a load of rubbish. Pass on this one.
Lilith..
Elder Daniel has great information about her, if you go back to the thread...ill find the link and post it....its very interestng
Well I know Lilith to be a queen Daemon, and also due the course of time a blood drinker, also Astarte is considered by some to be the Goddess mother of Vampires & Caine is said to be the first human turned vampire.. also I was one told of Runn & if anybody has info about him please relate because I have forgotten most of his lore....
I think its a good time to point this out this thread may have been done before but so what? Is it that a topic can never be brought up again? What is one supposed to do go through every thread and read it all before even raising an idea or question. All that will do is raise more questions that cant be adressed because the thread is old and closed. I dont know about everyone else and maybe this thread is not the best example (no offence) but to me i am dying for someone to bring up an issue or an idea that requires actual thought. To me if i read a thread and come out dumber than when i started something is wrong. I enjoy threads like grey matters and historical view points. Im personally tired of threads that address personal life gripes. So i commend you for efforts in thinking of something intelligent to discuss
Siete... an ancient mistake. he was created on the eighth day of creation.... or so the myth goes. Anyway Satan created another creature half man, half demon, a creature of the devil. Bound by the powers of night, this creature had only one way to live like a demon, feed off the blood of the living or die.... he had one way to reproduce to sire.
