Thats very true. Vampires have such an image which the media plays upon, but when we look at Slovac tales we can see that the actual image of what they thought was a vampire was totally different.

I bet that when you think of Elizabeth Bathory, you get an image of gothic beauty, as this is the image which we have been conditioned to believe from when we where children, adn the gaining poularity of the GOthic subculture doesn't really unglamourise the fantastical el;emtent.

This is all well and good, but can also be misleading. I ultimately see vampirism as a way of life, in some ways a choice, and in others a perspective to the world aorund us. I tend to steer away from the stereotypically supoernatural elements and focus more in harnessing whats around us, seeing what we dont see at first.

Its a path, and it can be a great one, but of course its not for everyone.

it would be like trying to sum up humans with a few short words. you can not put a stereotype on a group of people that big, each one is going to have their own qualities and characteristics, beliefs and attitudes.... and that is a wonderful thing

I believe a vampire is what we make of them to many sterotypes to many forklores about them. It's anybodies opinion. But truth and research about vampires can help someone with thier opinion not just write down what they hears about them !!

i agree, trying to sum up a vampire is next to impossible..ok..there as somethings we can say about them...
One. the do see the world around them deffirently, but is that a bad thing..no...sometimes the world needs that i can of view to set it self stright.
Two. ok..yes we drink blood..but humans to kill animals for food..at least most of us dont' kill them...just enought to sustain us then have a reallly dinner or what ever and plan for the next night with the donor or the next week and hang for a while..at least thats what i do..
Three... yes.. alot of us can and will see stuck up sometimes..but look at how we are treaded...we are all not the carnovours monsters you see on tv or on the big screen...yes there is some of us out there..but then again there are some humans like that too..but we don't judge them all on those accounts do we.....

So you see..there are just some things...if anyone could think of anymore by all means please countiue the list..

I for one look at vampires as a big part of my life for I am one and if people who are not one that look down upon us should look at their own and see that we are not that different...there are vampires all around the world that go to jobs just like they do. We work and pay just as the next person. So what if they think that we suck their blood for them hating us cause we dont ok so I dont....But all in all to each his own and in our own and their own we live day by day not knowing the truth as they do.

Vampires are a part of life. They are around us. I look at vampires as part of our society. They should be treated as everyone else, but I know they are not. Vampires are wonderful beings who live a different lifestyle than most.

I believe that if someone wants to think something of us we should let them we know the truth and personally I couldn't care less if people thought of us as freaks because in some sence of the word we are just my opinion but I dont care what people think let them be narrow minded i say

I think people look down on vampires because they have more ability and power far past humans so they try to kill us off or try 2 put us away.

Most likely, we are a combination of all the different myths and legends out there. Granted, there is a great deal that is falsified, but there can be some truth hidden in legends.

Yes, we are blood drinkers. Yes, we are fiends. Yes, we are kind and gentle and generous. No one person is one-sided and people like to demonize what they don't understand--and make up the rest to make someone or a group look worse than they really are. But at the same time, the entire group is not entirely homogenous either. There will be bad apples in the bunch that will fuel this self-fulfilling prophecy.

My point is that vampires as a group would not be really fair to characterize universally any more than it is to characterize African Americans or Latinos or whatever other group is out there. Even Anglo-Americans can be oftentimes stereotyped to be a certain way.

Just as there are many different types of humans, there are many different types of vampires. I agree that the media has given us a bad deal, but we must rise above that and show people our true natures. Vampires are tragic, leeches, and many other things. I cannot possibly try to classify them.

vampires are sensual beings that are sometimes compared to the mere human and if u see the comparison, u see a better person, not a new species...that makes humans think, i could be better

I think many things cross my mind when the word vampires is thrown at me. I do think bloodsucker, tragic life, powerful and erotic being. All of those link together. There are so many things to them that I can't picture one without the other. To me it would just be another person with an unusual power ::shrugs::

Vampires are the top of the food chain, we feed on humans, an the public opinion suits me just fine let them make there movies of Vampires in any light thay wish, thay dont belive we exest an thats fine by me.
in my time we ruled them an keep them as pets, cattle an any thing els we needed...but thos times are over an we are fairy tales an things that go bump in the night to them now. we are entertainment to them...but not real, so we can feed unhinderd by this very notion
