What does everyone think of fangs and wearing them. Do you think its necessary to wear them even though modern day vampires who drink blood without killing dont need to wear them? Do you think they are a fashion accessory or do are they symbolic of vampirism?

I personally think they are just a fashion acesseroy. I think they look neat, and I would definetly want some, but not so people would think I'm a vampire. I'd get em cause they look really kool.

i don't think that we ar using fangs only to be cool.. fangs make's us to feel "more" vampire than we are, and it's not a fasion because beeing a vampire will never be a fasion..

It is part of some peoples fashion, fangs can definetly be used for fashion...why else would you have fangs cause you're a vampire? Please, you don't need fangs to drink blood and be a "vampire".

True true you don't need fangs to be a Vampire and alot of actual Vampires don't have them. But they make them feel more confortable with themselves. Yes they can be used for fashion and that is what they are often times used for but others they just make the person wearing them feel more confortable in their own skin. Knowing that they are of the Vampire race and having fangs just symoblizes that..

I don't think they're necesary. But they are great to have.

just for fashion and kids who think they are vampires after reading one of the following authors (bram stoker, anne rice or darren shan) when really they know nothing of them.

they may look nice, but anyone who wears them is obviously trying to attract attention.

I think they are nice but I also think some people have them to be fashionable, I haven't got any and if I did I wouldn't want them just to look 'cool' either.

i think fang look beautiful but arent nessacarly. the best ones i've seen is, a dentist down near me will sharpen your teath in to fangs for you, so you wont have a few wight teeth and the rest on as wight

Normal teeth don't really poke like that .

just a fashion thing. i havent wore them in like 2 years, but there fun to wear sometimes mostly cuz im bored i dotn knwo

i find them verry symbolic to the vampiric culture thats why i have a pair i also have a blood omen ring... its just easier to identify others that way

i am not disagreeing with anyone what about the vampires who have real fangs they dont try to attrct attention they are just there

If I were born with fangs I would wear them, otherwise...

fake fangs are an accessory to make some feel more vampiric than they r...others juss have them...but most of the time its all juss for the fun of it

To me they are simply an accessory worn by those who need the physical appearance to enhance their psychological needs.

I don't know... I was born with fangs, my dentist filed them down when I was 5 because I fell and bit the tip of my tounge off... I think alot of people wear them to reconnect with their "other" side, but as always there are people who wear them for pure shock value..

i find that my fangs allow me to express my wild side, with out being to obvious

umm... i dont think they are needed because you could just cut someone and drink that way but if you want to wear them that's your choice doesnt mean that other people have to wear them to be vampires....that's just my point of view

I think fangs are a fashion trend for some. I do own a pair but my teeth are pretty pointed. baby Fangs. heh.

I think they are also symbolic. You can put a pic of fangs anywhere or show them to someone and they know what or who they belong too. They know vampires have fangs and thats what people associated them with.

I think that they are just an accessory. Like someone had said, someone wearing them is looking for attention. They look cool and all, I slip in one of my many pairs of fangs from time to time, but it is usually for a character that I am portraying. Would not wear them on an everyday basis. Not saying that people can't or shouldn't, to each their own. Just my comments on the topic.

All things can be condiered as attention seeking, but if fangs would mean something to you then theres no reason why not.

I think that just cutting people and drinking thier blood is a weak way, like your a "wanna be" vampire. the fangs make it look better and some people would probably think your life is to be a vampire.

it isnt like thos of us with fangs are going around snarling at ever single person that walks by, most casule people that are out wont even notice that you have fangs, only the ones that look for it see them, an of course other people with fangs will notice it

Well, I've got a pair of pretty nice custom fangs, and I wear them every now and then, but it's not for attention. I get enough negative attention as it is. I wear them usually as an accessory, but sometimes as a medium to get more in touch with my vamp side. Plus, its fun as anything to go around biting stuff :D

Fangs, are something I don't know a lot about, but if I went to purchase a pair then I know it would be somethng I wanted (irish for you *rolls eyes*) and if I bought something then, I would want to wear it. So I wouldn't keep them like my granny did in a jar beside the bed but wearr them, and scare the devil daylights out of folks especially at night *toothy grin*

I have some, but apart from the look, there's little else for use. Any true vampire has no need for fangs. Got to admit, though, if you're going to dress the part, it's not the same without them.

Well here is my contribution ... I very much love my fangs ... I was mutilated by a dentist when I was an adolescent who felt that it was inappropariate for humans to have fangs ... I went to a guy here in CT who is the most awesome Fangsmith around ... Vince knowns him too and he is now a member here on VR (thanks Dnash) ... I would highly recommend him ... I wear mine as a symbolic connection to our kind ... I am more of a psi vampire ... have not drank the hearlded elixir of life ... but I know that eventually I will ... It comes to mind that having incisors and laterals as fangs are not a biologically efficient method of "cutting" into some one ... if we look at the dental anatomy of the Vampire bat, it is the front incisors that are long and sharp ... the bat does not leave two punchure wounds, but in reality makes one gouge that bleeds perfusely ... the bat actually licks at the flow of blood rather than sucks at it ... so why would we need long laterals and canines? well probably the answer lies somewhere between hollywood and our genetically coded recognition that bearing fangs is a signal of aggression and an attempt to instill fear in our prey / doner ... I dont know, just some thoughts ... I still love my fangs and I wear them as often as I can (if I can get away with it, my boss wont let me wear them at work, it freaks some people out) ... the folks that ask me about them are only the people that feel comfortable enough with me and that know me ... I think that for the most part alot of folks dont notice them (and I have three sets that I wear, two upper and lower canines) ... My family hates it and they would rather me not come to family gatherings rather than see me with them ... Well, I wont stop wearing them (I dont go to family gatherings anymore) and they definitely help me feel connected to the continuum of kindred ... thank you all for sharing ... BTW, there are definitely secondary gains from wearing them ... if that is the "attention seeking" thing, then so be it ... !!!!!!

i think fangs are a sexy lookin assesory and maybe a lil has to do with a symbol of vampirism, but a lot of ppl were them a mouth decoration and dont even think they r a vampire.. well then again there r ppl who think they r a vampire just becuz the have naturally sharp canine teeth.. i like to wear fangs sometimes, i dont think im a vampire either. if mine were really nice i might were them a lot more.

I find them sexy, easier to draw blood. For me they are a turn on. My teeth are filed into fangs, so mine are not an accessory...

ive seen some really nice 1s at a dentist's place down here. he files down the face of ur tooth and engraves a lil groove at the top near the gum and makes two slits in ur gum. the fangs just kinda clip on but actually stay on real snug. so u can remove them if wanted.

i don't need fangs. my teeth are naturally very pointy and sharp. but i think it's nice for people who want fangs to have the choice to wear them or not

ok i am going to answer some people on this forum again i have a husband and 3 children that were born with fangs now my husband is a real vampire he reads minds and has senses 10x stronger than a human our son has strong senses as well and i know they are REAL

if your going to do it do it right sharpen your two teeth and get the real deal. if you go for a job interview or something say you were born that way. it works i had a manager at a pet store with fangs.

I have cheep fangs that I wear almost everyday... they make me feel good about myself. Starnge I know... but hey, I like them and my sister and I are planning on driving the 13 hours to CT next summer to each get a set by Dnash... glad I found him online!

I believe wearing fangs is not about fashion, though I find them attractive, it is about being apart of the vampiric culture. For anyone that chooses to wear them, it has more of a connection to who you are, rather than being the "IN" thing, the newest fad, or the latest style on the cover of Vogue.....which come to think of it, would be a pleasant change, fashionable fangs versus super models plagued with anorexia.

i think it depends on who it is and how they feel aboiut them i mean i ear then with some things and it all works and on anothere hand there are people that wear them because they think that it will make us like them you know like another thing that they can give usa a lable for i mean there are some cases if you wear them people think omg i shoul go and ask them if they are a vampire or go and see if they are goth ... so like i said it depends onn who the person is....

I have a good friend who naturally has Fangs... most don't realise that is what makes her look different, you have to take the time to figure it out.. anyway a particularly nasty fight with a b/f and she had one broken out.. when she went to the dentist...she asked for a partial or something to replace the tooth and look natural he tried VERY hard to talk her into one that wasn't so fangish and to do work on the real one to make it match...needless to say she went to another Dentist who did what she wanted... she loves her teeth the way they were!

Fangs aren't a necessity but there are true kindred out there that do possess them from birth I personally know one of them but they don't like to attract attention to themselves they only use them for feeding and they don't kill their prey

Fangs are for those who need to feel more like vampires. Fangs are a fashion statement to some they are part of their lives. All I got to say is to all their own !!

you know, some may call me a little biased on the subject, but i wear my fangs to replace my original canines. not that they (my canines) don't look fine now, but i liked them better before my dentist got at me when i was 13. in fact, that's how i got into fang making..... simple replacememnts.
i have clients come to me for every reason under the sun. some had the same experience as me; some like them as an accessory; ; some to win costume contests; some as a tool in their own personal habits........ whatever the case, if it makes you feel good and it's not hurting anybody, do it.
i'm a fan of "the hunger" and i think that film clearly illustrated the fact that fangs are not a necessity. but i challange ANYBODY to tell me they don't look cool, especially if they're either natural, or made well.

i personally love fangs and dont see them as something someone wears to seek attention i see it as expression and showing ppl that you are not afraid to show the real you...this proably doesnt makes sence bc i dont know how to really explain it

I personally have a set of fangs. But to me they are basically just for my own sick little pleasures. I love biting and being bitten. So for me they are neither to make me feel more like a vampire, because im dont technically consider myself of "normal" vampire race. Or to draw attention from anyone im not attending to. BUT i will agree with everyone else's statements. Because i do know people who wear them for those reasons. Anyway, just thought id throw my nickles worth in there.
