I got an early brithday present this weekend, the Gothic Vampire Tarot. I'd been lusting after this deck for months! I wouldn't say all the illustrations are necessarily gothic, but it is a cool deck nontheless. Some of the divinatory meanings are skewed on some of the cards, so that should be interesting divining with them. Card XIII, Death, is the card used for transformation to vampire. It's a sensuous card depicting blood flowing from the mouths of the opposite sex.

There's also another vampire tarot available. I'll have to get that one, too.

Anyone have the any of the vampire tarot decks? How well do they work for divination?

Remember- it doesn't have to have vampires to be gother than thou. The best deck I have ever worked with was the Vertigo Tarot, the art is from McKean, and the divination means was thought out by Neil Gaiman and some other lady whose name I can never remember. It's gorgeous, and the characters on the cards almost tell you exactly what you need to know without having to look it up in a book. Helps if you know the story lines though.

I have the Vampire Tarot cards which is a different set. I wish we could see the pictures of all the cards first before we buy.

I have several different decks of tarot cards, but I don't have this set. I don't recall seeing this set either. I will check into it and see if I can find them.

No...it's not a game. Who said it was???? I'm 47 and having been reading the cards since I was in my teens. I do readings for people over the internet quite often. I even read for other tarot readers. It's great to be able to share my gift....

My favorite deck is probably the Waite-Rider deck because I'm so used to it, lol.

Since I'm obsessed with vampires though, I'll probably fall in love with this one :)

I bought mine at Borders. The maker is Lo Scarabeo, Torino (made in the EU) Riccardo Minetti is the author and the artwork is by Emiliano Mammucari.

The actual name of the deck is The Gothic Tarot of Vampires...

I have that set. In my special box, I own two sets. One is the fluffy happy answers. The other, the vampire, is brutally honest, and even if you don't want to hear the answer, it'll tell you.

I used the vampire deck today, for the first time since I bought it. Wow! I did several different spreads, a two-card spread, several three-card spreads, and a five card spread. Just amazing to know there is a guiding hand...that is even aware of the "new" meanings. I then used my Rider-Waite deck and couldn't do a thing - that's a first!

I am enjoying my new Tarot. I would like to eventually collect as many decks as I can, just for the artwork. The vampire deck is definitely somber. Every time I read, I get coherent answers, regardless.

I have the Vampire Tarot by Nathalie Hertz, they work absolutely magnificent for divination. Usually I use a 4 card "now" spread using only the major arcana.

I have always been taught and personally believed that divination through tarot was only bringing a floor plan of your life down to eye level, but WOW! This deck has so much power atached to it....

I used the Vampire deck before. It's so simple to read. Mostly all decks are, but they've got the best pics on them.

I agree with Fallen....it isn't the cards necessarly that make the deck...it is how you connect with the cards...I've tried several decks, and those just didn't feel right to me. I have an affinity with dragons, so when I picked up the Celitc Dragon Tarot, it was like putting on an old pair of pants...it just fit. Take the time to research what it is you want, and then try it out. You will know when you find your deck.

my granmother has normal tarot cards and i kno how to use them but i dont have any Gothic Vampire Tarot cards, but they sound so kool ^_^

Sounds cool. I don't have either the Goth or Vampire deck, but I do have the Witches one. I think that a tarot deck is essentially still a tarot deck no matter what though.

my tarot is the mythic tarot..which has yet failed to give me a reliable reading..even though there are times when it does throw me for a loop *giggles*

I have always wanted a deck but Im not to good at reading them yet.

I will stick with my Rune Stones. I don't need to know what is gonna happen just insight on what decisions to make sometimes.
