Via the symbolism article that I did about a year ago, I can speculate that it may be a pitch fork from either poseidon, or the devil...Either way would work since the origin of the pitch fork was Poseidons. The circle within the fork itself could specify either unity, or infinite such as with the ouroboros (Dragon eatings its own tale).

From the pic that you displayed, it looks more like electrical currents from a schematic of sorts. Two ac's and one dc respectively.

Try some research with the necronomicon and see what you come up with that resemble this image. Since it does have many many symbols within it. I would research angelic symbols as well...Might turn up something there.

i looked up angelic and necronomicon, but though a lot came close the little I could find didn't resemble too much.

I think I might get a book out though this is the first time the internet has failed me.

As well, I did check that symbols.com site...Massive symbols per page, but no matches. I also did a search through the page itself...

I wish we at least had a name for the symbol. It almost reminds me of an anchemical symbol for fire crossing earth or something similar.

My biggest issue is no name for it. I checked some of the alchemical just now, and still no matches. I'm kinda OCD about research so i probably won't stop looking. Any help is a lot.

I was wondering if it might have been a mix.... if you find anything or think of anything let me know

Okay....I think I need to know where you found it. Inorder for Me to be of any help. While I have been studing several forms of symbols from around the world, I honestly have to admit that it resembles a electrical blue print symbol.

But like I said. Unless I know where it was found to begin with, I am not sure what help I can be.

Well, that's kind of my problem. I wasn't the one who found it. I was given the symbol by a friend, who the only clue I have is that he got it out of some sort of magic book, I'm not sure which. So basically, the only thing I have to go on is that it is somehow related to magic. Whether it be a god sign, or just a letter, I don't know. Otherwise I probably would have found it by now. Basically, if you've ever seen anything with the same traits....

And it's not electrical. I used to read schematics and have never seen that. I may be wrong, but it's doubtful.

Check Native or Canadian Indian symbols

might have a meaning there or it may be something someone made up themselves.

Clearly it is the Model for an Energy Manipulator;

if someone isn't just pulling your leg I'd say it most looks like a model used by the Order of the Golden Dawn. Nearly all magical forms use circles instead of ovoids... but it's possible that it is a derivitave of the 22 petals of the rosie-cross.

Okay. well I was given the symbol by a friend. Who is a bastard and knows that I can't stand to let a mystery slide. He refuses point blank to give me any information about the symbol or where he got it from. Just that he gave it to me in fig.A and he said it might also look like fig.B

I don't know much about computer symbols... but judging by him, I don't thionk that fits. He knows little or nothing about computers.... or math.... or much else besides the occult... which is why I have to assume it's from there. With my luck, it's not anything, and he's just trying to get a rise out of me.

Only I have a few friends who think they've seen it somewhere a long time ago. Out of the two, they also do a lot of occult research. Which is how I narrowed my search away from other things. Really, it's like being given the answer to something and being told to figure out what the question was.

Maddening. Once more help is much appreciated, and I will definitely look into the small bits of help you all have offered. Thanks.

The only other thing I can think of is

"Do not burn"

Ovals are sometimes used as nullifying symbols
and the trident is used alchemically as a noun for ash or as a verb for burn

This would also make sense as a switch in an electrical diagram, as the oval controls the direction of flow by nullifying it. So it may have a similar meaning of control the process, safety measure, pause at each step, or soemthing similar.

All symbols are generally logical, however without knowing the context it is harder to decipher.

Well I know 2 things about the symbol in general:

1) It's used in electrical drawings/schematics
2) It was drawn with 'paint' lol

Now, is that what it is (in this context)...I have no clue lol.

It actually does look vaguely familiar to several symbols mostly early Celtic/Germanic or Mesopotamian but other than that I really don't have many more thoughts/ideas. I would say though to be weary of anyone who says "I don't know exactly what it is but it has to be..." Symbols aren't always what they appear and just because they're similar to something more common (such as a trident etc) doesn't mean in the least that it's anywhere near related.

Haven't you considered that your friend is messing with you? Onowing how you will never stop ooooing for it..I think if the symbol was part of anything that has to do with magic people here would've told you already..Another idea that came across me is that it can be a pokemon...I'm serious when I say this as stupid as it sounds, check "the unknown" there is one exactly like that. Maybe he is tricking you if he has that kind of humor.

Artemis, have you checked out this site:

http://www.steliart.com/angelology_7_seals.html

I found something here that looks incredibly similar. If it doesn't look close enough, the symbol you have might be a slight interpretation or mispresentation of it. I'll keep looking for you and let you know what I come up with, okay Lass? Let me know if you want a list of the sites I go searching through. I'll be happy to oblige. Good luck searching.

I went and looked at the symbols from the movie "The Prophecy" and it could very well be those, and if so the first one is a Z the other one stands for a T , personally I think he,s playing a joke on you to see how long you,ll go to look it up.

I drew it in paint, it was given to me on a piece of paper, and i have no scanner. lol

I will definitely look at anything here shown to me, and I have considered he would be messing with me, only, I wrote it off since about five years ago he told me what it meant. I'm basically trying to figure it out again.

Once more thanks to all of you for your help!

I looked up och, and it seems to fit with what i know about the person I am dealing with, and what he'd choose.

The symbol could be closer, but I think it is it. Thank you to you all for helping, and any further ideas are definietely appreciated!

I thought it might be the seal of Och but my first thought was out of an electronic schematic or something of that nature. The seal has the circle at the bottom and the drawing you have is very squared off but if it is from memory that might explain all of that. You do find ovals in magical seals and sigils but not as much as circular shapes. When I see an oval like that I think of the cosmic egg. It's probably the seal of Och though. Good luck on your mystery journey!

I'm glad you're thinking you've found out what the symbol represented, Artemis. Just a side note, I've checked several extensive lists and pictures of schematic keys and didn't find anything like it, remotely similay or not, so I doubt that it's from that. But anyway, I'm glad you're further on your way to discovering what your mystery symbol is and where it's from. Let me know if anything else turns up. Okay?

Nykl

Just a short note. You would be surprised how many games now use symbols such as sigils and seals within them. There is almost no topic in the occult/religious area that hasn't been put into a game not to mention fantasy areas with wizards and the like. I started running into symbols within rpg and wondered if it came from there.
