First, I would like to ask: Is it "magic" or "magick"? I personally spell it "magick". This is because when you spell it "magic" it comes off as stage magic and fairytales.
Adding the "k" alters the emotional response to the word. It gives it a higher significance.
Second, I would like to write this:
Energy= the universal energy that flows through every thing
Thought= the idea/wish of what you want to accomplish/happen
Emotion= Desire for the thought to be fulfilled
As you think about something do you ever realize that there is always an emotion?
Have you ever thought about something but didn't tell anyone about it later to have an answer to/ affirmation to it?
There are signs all around you that have to do with whatever is going on in your life. This is because of the energy built by the thought and emotion. You may not have realized it then but you sent them to the astral realm.
"As Above, So Below"
Though it takes awhile sometimes, once it gets to the astral realm it will come back and be done. This is the essence of a prayer as well.
One of the best explainations I have heard in a long while. It really makes it easy for people to understand. Thanks
Well, that's also the entire idea behind low magick. Intent directed toward a goal. The energy is sent to the astral realm and brings you results.
Very nice. Different...but very nice. :) I would think this belonged elsewhere...but article wise...should be a bit longer...still..very nice. :)
Crowley was the first to add a "k" to the word "magic" to distinguish ritual practices from the slight-of-hand used by stage magicians. Unfortunately, "magick" is now so closely associated with Crowley that I choose to use the more conventional spelling and dispense with the added "k." If you use the word "magick" people automatically assume that you're a Thelemite, which you might not be. People should be able to tell in three seconds that I'm not a stage magician if they take the time to read my stuff.
Interesting and thought provoking, and I would answer yes.
i did not know that it was Alestier Crowley
so thanks for adding that
Wow I've never thought about it but it does indeed make sense... Energy, thought, and emotion towards a single goal....hmmmm. I remember someone spoke of this in my martial arts class.. Is there a connection??? *vanishes scratching his head*
It's actually all about the energy, will, and intent...Thought and emotin tend to get in the way, once you leave the waking world...They are both human manifestations...
Mind is connected to the body.
Emotion is the connection to your Higherself.
The four states of Being.
What you think - becomes form.
What you create - you must experience.
Laws of this Universe.
Basic stuff.
Once you evolve past that connection, you will be free to explore the more advanced realms...In fact the most common reason minds aren't able to expand past the waking world is do to distractions from random thoughts and emotions...
thank you undead
i am glad to see appriciate the research i do unlike the person who shut two very important threads down
oh yeah, i wanted to add to what Billy and Enigma said:
Yes it is basic but there are ppl who do not know this yet as you can see in the threads above.
Let's not have everyone trying the advanced stuff right away. That could be funny though. j/k lol
It was Crowley who spelled it Magick
Intent, a burning desire, towards a goal, and expecting to reach that goal.
Distractions... Yes, I seem to have a lot of 'em. Thank you, Enigma, for posting that comment here and driving home the point that it is Soooo important to be able to clear the mind and meditate, in order to be able to gain the knowledge one seeks!
Oh, and I didn't know about Crowley either, I thought it was only a Celtic/Pagan derivitave spelling.
Emotion, E-Motion= Energy in Motion
The catalyst sometimes used in creating a stronger force of energy used in magickal workings.
*My personal Grimoire* :)
thought provocing and very inteligent, but i am not sure how to respond
I agree with the theory since somethings I have greatly desired and stuck with had come to reality in one way or another.
Could telekinesis be included as a result of the combination of the three??? Could energy, thought, and emotion focused on a single object cause it to move???
I am not sure. I have never done telekenesis nor have i tried. It might be though. I would suggest asking Enigma.
Enigma, any words of addvice for Sekment?
*to Enigma*
>> Thought and emotin tend to get in the way,
If you hadn't thoughts, how would you comprehend that?
(sorry for my English it's not my first language, I'll try to form my question different if it is needed)
i think what Enigma was saying was that after you know what you are doing it becomes natural to you and you can advance
there are thoughts in ur subconscious about what to do and such however you tend to not even realize the thoughts r there and to try to focus on them would distract you
Enigma, is that about right?
oh and...kinda simular........Don Juan said to "see" not "look"
if you are looking you can't see
if you are talking you can't hear
if you are thinking how can you focus on the task at hand
thought of one more thing...........to say it in other words LeMuerte.......
"As above, So below"
its hard to think about how our emotions effect the world around us but they do. thank you for pointing it out and helping us remember that for every action there is a reaction back
It seems as though Enigma has abandoned this post. He has not responded yet.
