I found Vampire Rave by accident. I was a member of another website when an article was posted about Vampires that had referenced VR. I clicked on the link for VR and have been hooked ever since. I have always loved the mystique surrounding Vampires and interested in the Vamp lifestyle. I am completely and entirely addicted to this site. I have met a lot of very dear people on here more so than any other social networking site that I am a part of. I gave up my Myspace account and I am still active on Facebook, only because of the games. When I am on VR, I have Facebook up at the same time, juggling between the two. I am so grateful to Cancer for creating such a wonderful place where we can come together and collectively share a common ground.
I've been introduced to VR by Hannahrose over a year ago who wanted me to read her journal, so I became a member and browsed around and decided to stay and make friends and worked my way up.
Now have a mentorgroup of my own and still loving it here on the site and with my covenfamily of Vita ex Nex.
You really miss your friends here when your not able to log on.
*reposting!* lol
I think a friend told me about this site one day and decided to jump aboard. This was over 6 years ago. I have been off and on it ever since. It's changed a lot but i'm happy with it so far. I mostly enjoy be here because i am able to share part of myself freely with others that are similarly like-minded and where i feel more comfortable around others. To me it's not about climbing the ladder. It's really the good people that we connect with and meet that make it all worth while.
My coven the people on VR the profiles the forum the vampire data base member articles
i like vr because there are diffrent people. i have slowed down on how much i come on here of latley because it is same old same old.
but it is the first web sight i ever joined and has addicted to 3 or 4 years ago
now if i could find a zombie sight like vr i would be in 7th heaven or a bdsm community like this
I joined when I saw that it said a social networking site for vampires. I was curious if it meant my kind of vampire. So I joined. Then I got addicted in about 4 months after joining! I know VR has taught me patience and how to be a better friend.
I found VR while talking to a friend, Zazz, on yahoo one night. I was a bit leary of joining at first but now Im glad that I did. I have met some wonderful people and am part of a great coven. I also enjoy the tons of resources that are found here. There is a lot of information about various topics not just about vampires. The data base and forums are fantastic. Kudos to you Cancer!
i came her for more info on vampires and fell in love with the people and have great friends here so i thrive to stay.
At first the people and the theme attracted me to VR, but now it's the members of my group that keep me here. I've learnt who to trust and who not to trust - that was the biggest lesson I've learnt here.
I actually stumbled upon the site while looking for Halloween costumes. I thought it was pretty cool so I joined. Somehow it became an addiction.
A friend directed me here and it was a perfect match. i have met many people i can converse with easily. the forums and the database are fantastic. i love it here.
An advertisement for the site kept showing up on my myspace so after a while I decided to see wht the site was all about. I'm so glad I did. I was shy when I first signed up, but after a bit I became more confy talking with people here.
VR is where I feel most at ease with myself in relation to talking to others.
What is it about the site (Vampire Rave) that attracted you to join it?
Reading the profiles left me feeling rather uncomfortable. So, I joined to face that feeling.
What is your favorite part of VR?
Meeting new people.
What does Vampire Rave mean to you and what have you learned from being a member here?
I don't know if it means anything in particular to me. But, I have learned a little HTML and I am learning how to interact with people online (something I am not used to). These are good things I think.
I love VR. I was looking for some answers about a few things and came across this site. I enjoy the new people I have met on VR and hope to be a member for a long time. Thanks
Daecan
This is now my number one site!
I love feeling at home and discussing things that matter to me
i like the social aspect, i wouldn't say that it's taught Me a lot, i am pretty well-rooted and grounded now at this Stage in My Life Cycle.
I like having the ability to socialize with like minded people. i have been here just over 3 1/2 years and I have met some wonderful people, some I have had the pleasure of meeting in person and others I have chatted with on the phone. Regardless I don't plan on leaving here I rather like metting all the different types of people that are drawn to this site.
I been to a lot of websites claiming to be a community where you can come and be yourself and they don't come close to VR. The Houses and Covens are places where you feel as you belong there. You get to know a lot of the members on VR, I have some very good friends on here. Don't get me wrong though, there are some on here who makes you angry because of their actions or the way they act on here. As a society this will happen, it is the way. My favorite thing is meeting new people, chatting with them. Checking out their profiles.
Not to sure what it was, would of been about 4 years ago when i had my first account on here, think I was just trying to find people who were similar to me and to make new friends.
Right now what I like best is my coven some really great people there,my friends and how you always have support and someone there for you when you need it.
I've learnt quite a bit that there are some really good nice people out there who accept you for who you are, Also I've learnt alot about HTML, The articals are really helpful.
For me it used to be... about the forum mostly, and reading all the information collated on the Vampire world. Especially the poetry section, there are some beautiful poems written there by members :)
well my niece and some other real life family and friends who are here intorduced me to VR and I am glad I have been here since the early '05 late '04 yet, it has grown and Cancer has made it a most inviting and welcoming place for all who walk to a different tune than your normal society as a whole, we are comfy here and grateful it was created this is the only site I ever belonged to other than facebook for my family yet, we all know we cannot compare the 2 LOL yeah, like they are simular. not* LOL anyway love it and will be here till I cannot be.
I have learned alot met many people here and in the real world as well as speak to them everyone is great here thanks for being a great site * hat's off to CANCER,as I bow* he is the Prince after all is said and done.
I jion becaus weh I looked at the site I literally said 'oh wow it's myspace for goths' stupid I know but I love the idea of a social networking site full of people who embraced the darker side of life. I love the level system and the privlages you get and the forums always have something interesting.
I found VR almost 5 years ago, on this account, i was on before that as i immature kid, I had to let the first pro go as i no longer had net. then a couple of years later i made this one and the addition started all over again, to me VR is a home away from home, where you can always find someone interesting to talk to. So i stopped about.
So far from being here i have met the love of my life, Deathmask, and yes we have been happily married for 2 years. Met some amazing people and love the concept of this whole site.
Wow! You married someone you met on VR? You're the second couple I heard about doing that. Juny and Jay got married as well! Wow, VR: Social Networking Site for Vampyres and part Love connection lol!!
Anyway, yeah, I still love VR as much as I did when I opened up this thread. My reasoning may have changed, but I still love it here. I've met some great friends. I also love the challenges you have to face on the site, ie: leveling up, hitting Sire, Running my mentorship, my (very successful) SciFI group, and soon, my own coven while assisting in 3 covens and 4 mentorships! I love that challenge and the pressure it brings.
Yeah i did, we met just a lil over 5 years ago on here, its a long and strange story, but well worth telling if anyone wants to hear it.
I still love it here, even if times are hard and you cant be arsed to do anything on here, i have to come on every day and check on things, Since the 2 years i have had the coven, i have seen various bits of drama, and its all part of the experience, and i say, that until you have a Coven and know the drama, you havent experienced VR to the fullest. This is a great place to make new friends and to find something new, that isnt in the mainstream like Facebook or Myspace, You lads and lass' on here are the best people i have come across!
i have to agree Trep. this isnt facebook and thank you Cancer its not! I love it. ive met so many interesting and very talented folk and there are many more to meet im sure i will die here too haha, just not ready to for a very long time yet i hope ;)
The uniqueness of the site. The melodrama within the Covens and Houses. That is what make so many members come back, everyday for more. I work hard, taking x=care sick people, so, at the end of the day, why not, a glass of good wine and a good conversation with some members that like to converse at an intellectual level. Also, the flirting within the site.....always HOT!!!!!Cool. Thanks Cancer!!!
What is it about the site (Vampire Rave) that attracted you to join it? i was on line one day just searching around about anything about vampires and stubbled onto this site i was fascinated and i am addicted to the VR now.
What is your favorite part of VR? The friends and family i have here now i know i have people on here i can tell anything to and i have never been able to reveal my side to anyone before.
What does Vampire Rave mean to you and what have you learned from being a member here?
Like i said before i am addicted to the vr and the members my coven ,my coven master, all the members of my coven are my family and we would come together as a force if we had to. The knowledge that i have obtained is beyond what i hoped for. I have also learnt alot about my-self I am normal everyone else out in the world are the ones insane. I feel accepted for just being me. I have never had that close ness with anyone other than here that would actually understand except for one person ,my neice. I honestly have some friends on here now that i would do anything in my power to help them. I would like to thank Cancer for coming up with such an awesome web site.
I was linked to Vampire Rave by a webcomic I have been visiting daily for the last two years called The Devils Panties. I found that she also posts a small vampire comic here and decided to browse around a little bit. Before I knew it I was holding my breath and diving in to find answers to my seemingly endless questions.
My favorite part about VR is the people I have met so far. I hope I continue to meet such amazing people throughout my time here.
I joined after hours of looking for something like this.
The site combines Forums, many MANY Forums, groups on other interests, social networking (at its best) and a huge data base. Whats not to love?
The other sites; Acrimony, Sci-Fi Section, Gothic Invasion and Power Punks are cool and at the moment Bloody Feather is pretty freakin' awesome too.
I joined to learn about something that has interested me for a very long time, much like everyone else here.
i actually joined this site because i was looing for a place to make friends and to keep myself calm
Well first I want to welcome all the people I saw here who are new to the site! As much as you love it now, TRUST me, you will love it more later. Some advice:
There will be some people who will try to bring you down. Just flip 'em the bird, move on and ignore them! :)
Anyway, trep...
I would like to hear the story if you don't mind. I love to hear stories of romance!! :) And congrats on getting married!! April 16 will be 3 years for me. I celebrated my 2nd anniversary on VR as well. Very exciting. I love my husband. He has a profile, however, he's no where near as well-known as I am. His name is carnage.
I will be adding all the people in this thread that I haven't already. You all seem like cool people to get to know. And thank you for all your stories! ^_^
friends... simple as that. I joined the site cuz I have friends here.
I wanted to meet people that had common interests as myself. My favorite part???? Ummmmm the entire site. I love everything about it. What has it taught me???? there are people out there that I can count on and really there is to much to list from what I have been taught while on Vampire Rave.
My opinion the best freaking Vampire directory and social networking site ever.
I found VR through a search I did for Gothic lifestyles.
I had a different profile back in 2006 which was deleted, but I when I found this site I was instantly attracted to it.
My favorite part-
Everything. There isn't one thing I don't like about VR. ^-^
I came here as I'd read someone's story's I like.
I stayed, using VR as a platform for my creativity; to share with like-minded individuals..
.. in other words, I was about making connections.
Looking back on this thread, I liked what JustinV said,
"I'm not alone."
My comic tutor told me and a classful that very same thing.
"You sit there scribbling away in the early hours, each thinking you're the only one.. and, you're not."
i thought i had a perfect response....but i was mistaken...
the perfect response was already given...
im not alone.
i also agree that this site has done more to cause my creative juices to flow than anything in ages.
the people i have met here have been my muses again and again.
