I've made a slight change to the blocking system.
If someone blocks you, and they don't log in for 6+ months, the block is automatically dropped. This change affects the blocked penalty.
Theban - Administrators do not delete profiles.
If a profile contains inappropriate content, it is suspended and not visible to the public.
The question remains unanswered...
Perhaps I am not being clear I understand that you say Administrators do not delete profiles however someone or something has to. For instance Sentorans police the Rave
So are you saying that a profile will remain on the Rave forever even if it has an infinity suspension. If that is the case then the block as I understand will then hold for six months because the person will not be able to be active.
If the answer is 'no' then does the system have a programme which automatically recognises a infinity suspension and the VR system itself deletes the offending profile.
This is the point I am attempting to get across I want to know who or what deletes the profiles?
I am well aware as to why a profile or a portfolio or journal is suspended.
Sentorans can suspend a profile, portfolio, or journal if it is against TOS - Removing it from public view. The content is all still there.
As far as I know, and Cancer will have to correct me if I am wrong, if a member is suspended until infinity, because they are unable to log in, after 6 months their blocks will be cleared.
Infinitely Suspended accounts are not deleted.
Profiles are not deleted

Going by my understanding of how Cancer maintains the user database, I believe Morrigon has answered the question, completely.
Accounts are not deleted by administration. Although accounts can be inactive for a long time, they never delete.
Unless:
The account is level 1 and inactive for 180 days
or
The member self-deletes.
Regardless, the account name and activity will always be in the database and cannot be reused.
I use the term profile in place of account understanding that for me they mean the same thing!
My intention was not to confuse.
So your saying that Infinitely Suspended accounts/profiles are not deleted they stay on the system forever...
Thank you for the information

Yes, I am saying suspended for infinity accounts stay on the system forever. You won't see them, but they are there.
Waiting...
...watching....
...like the ghosts of Raves past....
...always anticipating the day they can rise again....
...but, they won't because they are suspended forever.
The end.
Wow that was well put, I felt sudden fear creep across my skin.
And, I got the answer I wanted in the end *chuckles*
Thanks for you time people.
That's both good and bad. Good that they're the ghosts of the past, but bad because wouldn't that take up unneccessary bandwidth?
I think this was a great additional to the updates, as I had a few people that had not been on in a very long time.
Great addition, and of course I did chuckle a little at how birra explained the infinitely suspended profiles. Could be wrong here, but the only profiles deleted by the system are the ones which are inactive for a certain period as a level 1.... right?
nice. if only Sabrefang stopped logging in for 6 months or more.
if you are suspended you can fix what ever that nneds to be fixed and then they will reaste you like you were before
All depends on the type of suspension you incur.
Profile/portfolio/journal suspensions: Easily fixed. Remove what you were suspended for and see a Sentoran about it.
Now account suspensions.....that's different. It all depends on what you were suspended for really. If suspended for having a free account by the PM rules simply make it premium and message an admin. If suspended permanently for another reason... you're pretty much off that account for good.
This is a great change. Defently a plus in regards to the point system.
Lol, those who are complaining about Sabrefang just got lucky...possibly. He's self-deleting.
That really doesn't mean that he won't come back under another name!

Sabrefang. If he self deleted and pulls up as No Such User.
But he is showing as having me blocked?
yes it still shows up on mine too. But he is no longer here.
it's probalby due to the "90-day just in case he changes his mind" profile hold over.....
Thank you very much Cancer, this is a great change.
Though, i'm not sure, there is a very respected member on here that had me blocked for two years and I still dont know why. All I know is that we talked and one day he had me blocked. He and I visit each other's profiles at times, mostly after I visit his to re-rate if he ever changed his. He is a CM on here though.
But anyway, this is a good idea, hopefully things will be cleared up this way, since so many people are burdened with blocks from people who aren't even here anymore.
According to LadyKrystalynDarkstar he only did the self-deletion a few days ago. Hell, I don't mind waiting to see if it sticks..
Oh, I almost forgot! LOL
Cancer, I'm guessing the woman that self-del3ted was removed because the block list went down to 13. Wait a minute. Sabrefang unblocked me. So it should be down to 12. (that's woulfhounds old account. It had 61 blocks when I first got the profile. I got it down to 13.)
I will check the profile to see if the deleted user's block is gone.
Keep in mind that this is a thread announcing a change in the way the blocking feature works. It is not an invitation to rant about those who have blocked you.
As it says in the VR Manual:
When you click delete, the deletion is queued. The account is locked out and cannot be viewed by the public. The account cannot be logged in to. However, the actual account data is not deleted for 30 days.
So most likely, since the account data of a profile is not permanently removed until after a 30 day period, the blocks that have been applied from that account will stay until after 30 days.
thank you, it will helps since some only log, create once just to cheat ont he system, and not paying for premium and having multiple profile then blocking all over, without ever loging in, showing they cheat the system and break the vr policy on multiple profiles, so this is a good thing to prevent and stop these people.
.. just irks me that those not registered have Blocks that still apply. So any changes made that change that will be appreciated greatly.
Nice work! Just that one more block means alot on your status.
When someone blocks you and then self-deletes, it takes 30 days for them to come off. This is because when someone self-deletes they have 30 days to change their mind and log in.
