These are my Views on it and I would love to see what others think and have to say about it.

Vampyrism is not a simple path to adhere to for everyone.
Vampyres are born dark and experience childhood differently than non vampyres.
They are in touch with their dark side but too often are confused until a deeper understanding of who they are comes into focus.
There are many aspects of Vampyres.
There are those who relate to the ideals and values of a never ending life, immortality, power, the ability to transform and control elements, combining vague facts or fantasy into their lives, creating a mythical Vampyre.
These vampire humans are in search of themselves and need to be encouraged to delve deeper to find the true meanings that await them.
True Vampyres
Vampyres do not view themselves as humans, because we are not human in all terms, true Vampyres see humans as the weak strain, full of emotions that drain away at them, wandering around like sheep in a field waiting to be herded into a flock.
Vampyres see humans as prey and life force.
We are the darkness of nature, strong and beautiful.
Emotional Balance
Vampyres look upon themselves as "GODS"; there is nothing above us, only beneath.
We kneel before our make shift altars in obtaining growth and enlightenment of true darkness.
We invoke and conjure powers in various forms for development and attainment of advancement.
We dedicate our selves to ourselves.
During advanced training, human emotions are a hindrance to the true Vampyre; they create confusion and too often get in the way of reaching the desired goal. Total focus and strength is needed during ritual work. Moral values that are instilled in us since early childhood should be cast away; Vampyres are not guided by these moral issues, as they are considered part of the weakness of humans, and have no impact on a Vampyre.
This advanced training is highly regarded as the initial step into being an Adept Vampyre, the combinations of ritual work, developing psychic strength, pushing one self to the very limits, as well as testing these developments in and outwardly is only part of the rigid training that slowly builds the character needed for the Vampyre Adept.

I find myself agreeing with you with most terms. but alot of vampyres (misspelled i think) do try to relate themselves with humans because they attempt to cling to humanity

Some of what you've written i do agree with M'lord, but i do happen to know from the vampyric sides of me that no always is it the case that humans are entirely weak and well there are those who do want to get closer to humans, i have most friends who have compassion for me. At times i do happen to realize though that some of the morals that humans have do hinder them from a far more wider opportunities.

Most of the views are i agree correct but there are some that i disagree with, if there was such a place for vampires to go and train at their own free will then i would go there myself, sadly there are only scatterd covens and clans perhaps someday they will be joined.
If anyone has any information on a place that one can go to learn more about vampires and our meeting grounds please message me.

I do agree as well with all of you.....there is a basic make up of every vampyer but then again each one is different....some are weaker then others, some want to be close to humans some don't...it's all a matter of likes and dislikes

From what I've been taught and from what I know first hand, yeah, i agree with you. However, I dont think that knowing human emotions and actually putting them to use is a weakness. At least, not a complete weakness. Knowing those emotions may actually help you better understand humans. Likewise, I think that humans would benifit from learning to separate themselves from their emotions.

Duneshifter the reason I say this is because of the way humans teach each other is that what is not of the light is evil, nor do most of them know how to control what they are feeling and it gets in the way of what they seek out of life.

Yes i agree with almost everything........i guess we try to hang onto the human side.......

. To we show we can fit in...........that we are not out to just kill , or to just take a life for a feed....we show we can survive the world we live in today , we have survived everything they have thrown at us .............We walk among the human for they do not know who they really walk with............

Most humans take things for granted not knowing just how precious life can really be................ yes they are emotional BUT i think we all are we all have compassion, but i do think our loyalties run higher....

I agree with you Lord Ryu. I think many who could be true vampyres forget that they have an obligation to the night...It is not some glamour trip or romantic escapade...It is a transformation that must be met with diligence once one has made up their mind to walk the path.....It's a constant struggle to live by "day rules" without developing the longing for the pleasures of society, even when one has accepted the path as a way of life.

Our strength and our weakness is life. We depend upon the vital force, for lacking enough of it ourselves, we are forced to glean it from others.

In this we are self-serving and self-preserving, though good and evil cannot be applied to our state. We know what we need, and we know we must take it, sometimes to the detriment of others. This is an unavoidable fact of reality.

We are predators at heart, even though we are physically indistinguishable from our prey. The spirit within us sets us apart. Our perceptions, our passions, and our powers make us strangers among ordinary men. Even if we refuse to act upon our more destructive impulses, we keenly feel the difference between us and those who do not share what we are. No matter how hard we try to blend in, we can never truly belong.

This is a blessing and a curse. The lives we live are fuller and more dynamic than anything most others might imagine. The levels of reality we are privy to make the world a profound and wondrous place. Yet there are few who can share our insights. Thus, we tend to be solitary, feeding alone, rarely interacting with those who would not and could not understand. Our utter separateness drives us to seek out companionship among our own kind for it is here only that we find true acceptance and understanding.

I agree with cherryblossom. But also in my opinion, I believe that the vampires that are 'clinging' to humans or the human race are just wanting to still be accepted in some way. Since the human race outnumbers us vampires, the heavy strain of acceptance can be overpowering at times. I have caught myself several times strying too close to humans and then still have trouble seperating myself from them. Vampires still have a few things in common with humans (whether we like it or not) : many of us live to survive or in a way survive to live (no matter the reason), we all have our own concept of predator verses prey (who is who), alot of both races yearn for knowledge, both want power and respect, both kill for fun and for survival (war, revenge, food, etc.). I say let everyone do as they please. Let them think as they will. I defend my own thoughts, life, decisions, etc and everyone else should do the same. It does get annoying to those who are true when 'look-a-likes' come strolling around babbling short texts of several books they have read certain that they are their own beliefs, but I just choose to ignore them and let them travel down their own road alone. I am done.

Dark Blessings to everyone and I did not intend to insult or down-play anyone. I am sorry if I have offened. -LunaDeath

My dark brother, I couldn't agree with your lengthy discourse more. (wink) Simply put, being a psy vamp is not just a lifestyle choice and it is not just "cool". There is a lot of training involved in truly living as a vampire. Understanding your nature is only the beginning. Controlling your nature is the path of the adept, as you said. Many people leave this to chance and experience, hoping they will learn as they go.

I have discovered in relationships that my unique disposition often times can overlook the needs of the other person. This 'godlike' attribute can be a major hindrance, and a major plus in the right circumstance. To that extent, part of becoming adept is learning control over one's narcissism, no matter how well deserved.

Many times, our confidence and our disdain for 'lower things' will draw others to us. They admire our ability to move defiantly and yet effectively against the tide and yet still come out smelling like roses on the other side, as it were. But our abilities and talents are for naught if we do not learn how and, equally importantly, when to employ them to our best advantage.

I would contend that the vampiric life is one of the dark path, commonly called the left hand path, because of the unique lifestyle it enforces upon us. Controlled, the vampire is very much an asset. Uncontrolled, the vampire within is a danger and a threat not only to oneself, but to all others concerned.

A well thought out post, brother.

I thought it should also be said, living in disdain of other humans will come back and bite thee in the arse when least expected / wanted if one is not careful.

Remember that many times, our best interests will also serve the interests of others, and vice versa. One must intelligently consider options and remember this as a necessity. In certain areas, sacrifice is not only acceptable, but necessary in order to gain a later advantage.

May I ask is the spelling 'vampyr' important, does it have a different meaning than 'vampire'

I know how the different spellings were used in history (different languages, same word) but do they mean something different nowadays

I know its not really what this thread is about, but I'm just trying to get my head around the whole concept here

Vampire Vs. Vampyre

Vampire: To some this spelling refers to the fictional type found in
Books, Myth, Legend, Film and TV.

Vampyre: A person who lives the Vampyre lifestyle and has the Vampyric condition.

Vampyre vs. Vampire: Vampyre is the older spelling of the word vampire used in the 18th & 19th centuries, Thus Vampyre is used to refer to an individual who is truly into the scene or real lifestyle.
The more modern vampire is most often used to refer to the Hollywood, Myth and Fiction.

In regards to the Vampyre vs Vampire thing, I usually spell it one way: Vampire. My brain is too crowded at any given moment by my other personalities to warrant worrying about which spelling convention I am going to use. To me, a vampire is not made up of the way they spell the word, but rather how they live their lives.

The vampire is the one who lives it and walks the path out of need moreso than desire. It is a path that is traditionally considered dark, due to the unique nature and existence of the individual vampire. As a dark path, it means that there is no one existence that is correct, as the path will vary from individual to individual.

So, the topic of vampiric living is at best subjective to the individual who is typing their response. Which ones are real and which are the pretenders is another subject altogether. Many choose to live life as a vampire out of choice and lifestyle preferences. Then there are those who walk the path of the vampire out of necessity. Neither is incorrect and neither is better than the other for all are human beings when it comes down to genetic makeup.

The subtle differences and advantages provided to the individual as a vampire are hardly anything to dismiss out of hand. And I am ready to stand by and list any of the advantages being a vampire has given me, despite my lowered ability to retain energy.

I don't have much to add either as most has been said, but like someone else there is no "School" to learn such thing's.I was lucky my Grams knew what I was at birth and taught me all she could since I could understand. But I am a 1/2 breed Dramphyre.A problem I find not many believe or take me seriously. Many so called Pure Bloods either find me amuseing or shun me altogether.I can walk in the day,so I interact with Humans I am also empathic and feel everyones emotions unless I block it,but I also walk the Shadows and am quite good at it.I taught my self all I know.

RAVENNA:> My apologies #1 for shouting. However, do you really believe there is nothing that can be learned from "regular humans" as you put it?

A regular human taught me how to meditate. A regular human taught me how to shield, sense energy and discern the energy that is being given off by any one person in a crowd.

These to me are useful as a vampire and I would be hard pressed to have found a better teacher than the one I started with.

Humans are more than bags of food. They are also you and I. For though we exist under a slightly different circumstance, we are not that far different.

Now admittedly I fall prey to the "humans are bags of food" syndrome, but I also keep in mind that they are in the majority and as such, run the world I exist in. Antagonizing the hill of red ants before sitting down on it is a very bad idea.

I do not see humans as underlings or as lesser beings. I do see them as both allies and rivals in the game of survival. At times one human will play both roles in my life.

And remember this above all else... Your donors throughout your lifetime are in all likelihood going to be non-vampire humans. If you are going to live as a vampire, then remember the code above all else. Donors ought to be treated with respect, not as property or "meal bags". Even the lions will respect the antelope of the sahara, for they provide the essential nutrients that allow for the lion's survival. (ok, so maybe i'm anthromorphizing (is that even a word?) a little bit here. It gets the point across).

Being Therian as opposed to vampiric in nature... my drives don't always have a dark tinge... though I suppose not all vamps need to be either...?

Jenova is right not all humans are weak they do teach us a lot, but they are still humans or mundanes, and would turn on us fast if there is something they don't understand. what makes us the better is that we see all that is and tent to have a much more open mind to new things, thus in that we are stronger in my view.

my brother, you are indeed correct. we must be careful whom we reveal ourselves to. my boss doesn't know. my co-workers don't know. they think i have a vampire fetish, but do not know the reality of it.

the dark priest knows and is understanding of it and in fact curious. it goes back to only revealing ourselves to those who would be accepting or have an open mind and not throwing the knowledge out for all to see.

knowledge is power and being a vampire works very much in your advantage if you don't throw it out there for everyone to figure out. so use it to your advantage.

I have to agree with thebloodrider. Many Vampires try to relate to our weaker cousins in an attempt to hang on to whatever shreads of humanity we may still possess. And I don't believe all Vampires are dark exactly. Just different. Different is good. I do agree that Vampires have a hard childhood as we are able to sense that we are different but unable to figure out how. Plus the "normal" children tend to pick on Vampire children. (Spoken from experience) They can also sense the difference just not the cause and that makes them fear us. I think this abuse is what turns so many Vampire children into Dark Vampire Adults.
