How do we differentiate between legitimate memories and created material?
Is there any way to verify past life material?

I would love to hear your thoughts on these questions......

I think too many theories will keep ravelling this mystery rather than solving. Once one question arises, like deja vous, another arises about the subconsciousness of the human psyhce... I am intrigued by the concept and read a great book by a notable doc, who of course, i cannot think of the name of...but will be sure to call my aunt and get it. It was a quick read and based on an actual patient with odd phobias and perceived multple personalities. She was hypnotized and spoke languages never learned, including Aramaic, she overcame her fear of water after "reliving" the life of a peasant girl killed in a flood...

Like I said, I will hunt down the book...

I've often seen glimpses into what I believe to be my past lives, but I've never known for sure. I've often wondered how I can know for sure myself.

de ja vues instances tend to lend one to realize that a past life occurence has taken place and they tend to ask..have i really done this before.one can also go under hypnotism of past life transgressions as well but in the end it is up to you to take it as a past life experience or not.

not sure about past lives have always wondered what i did wrong and my big fear is that my next one will be as a dung beetle

I had a past life reading done. It explained so much to me! I immediately saw the connection from childhood events and my past lives.

A book I am studying right now is "Discovering Your Past Lives" by Gloria Chadwick. It discusses deja vu also.

I have a close friend that feels WE knew each other in a past life..

In the past life we were very close also.. He describes my clothing and my hair and even what my name was..
I find this really fascinating, and we have an incredible bond...
I am still learning on the depts of past life possibilities.. I find it very interesting.
and my friend, just has so much enthusiasm on that and other way cool, spiritual channels and energies..

so for him, the material is factual for him.... he knew me before he had even met me.. and meeting with me, explained things for him and made his 'memory' satisfy.
He asked me a few questions that Came from the past life.. whether it was coincidence or NOT I cannot say.. But it came thru as fact for me in this life.
for him, it just confirmed and affirmed his findings.....

Well, I believe in past lives of other people that we inherit. Sometimes it just feels like our own, when in reality we just inherited some other spirt's memories. I also believe in a confused subconscience amd dejevu.

I have had that reocurring dream that I have on my profile for most of my life.. there are more details to it than I posted, is that a part of my past life trying to reach out? I do not know. We have all been places and been with people with strange feelings and such... could be because of a past life.. hard to tell.

i've always wondered that, myself... it seems like some of the stuff I remember is legitimate, but the rest seems like i just made it up.... I don't honestly know. :P

I am not too sure how they interface with each other, but they do. There are people I meet everyday that I know I KNOW.. you understand that feeling? It is all part of my lives intermixing.

I am skeptical of the existance of past lives. My wife, on the other hand, not only believes in this, but that the two of us were together during several past lives and will be together in future lives.

I have not had any experience that I can't dismiss as coincidence or simply random. I am fascinated by the possibility, however.

The only thing I question is why do many people who proport to have lived past lives, say they were someone famous. We must have 20 Alexander the Greats and 50 Vlad Tepes right here on VR!

i do feel that i have had a past life. Places ive been people i have met and the main one is my fear of diein in a car wreak i have been told that is why i do fear car wreaks

i personaly belive it is hard to differ between real and fanatasy as far as dreams go looking in to past lives and i dont know if i really want to know where i have been in my past

Well it could Minks...but even then there are things that we never tap into.....the brain is very complex even though i do know under hypnosis anything is possible.....not everything thing is....

But really, there some great stories about past lives that scientists can not explain. One was a child that went to India with them to show that he could show his past life. He named names and events that happen within this small family that happened before he was born. And there are more of this being done.

I would recommend if you wanna find out what is past life and what is dream, probably read the history ofhe past, do research and if the several events did happen or existed then you can consider that all t is related to it is true.

In my case when i remember it is like big flash in my head, its all blury at first then it rolls fast till a complet stop and then I can remember.

I've had dreams where Im going somwhere in town. I dont know the town of which Im in, and I dont know the people. But I KNOW where to go to geet to this e certen place. and I KNOW who I will find there every time.

Now, the awake me doesnt know who this person is or where this places is.
However the subcontous does.
Which could mean a few things.
Dreams, astrel perjection, or past memorys.

TheCryingDutchess I would love to know the answer to that book since I find this a very intriguing topic. I'm not sure how you would separate the two except for just knowing that you did not experience something in the past, yet you have a knowledge of it. I find myself stumbling upon that every once in awhile.

I think that the things we feel but not sure why have alot to do with past lives but we tend to disregard them as odd feelings ect. I think I will stop and look into it more

reincarnation would make sense. Would that also be the same thing then as your spirit passing from one living thing to another living thing once the original has died? I think so, anyway, it would make sense then that one would know about a particular thing without actually experiencing it.

My younger sister, I tell my mom that she has a very "old soul", because certain things that she does are not typical of a 7 year old. She also has had many occurrences where she would be able to tell one of our family members something about our family history or something that happened in the past when there is no way that she would be able to know that information. For example, she refuses to wear skirts that go above her knee and if they do (which are very seldom), then she must wear shorts underneath. She also has a very big heart and is very caring, understanding, and mature for her age. The last things may not mean as much, but the earliest things I had mentioned freak me out a little bit more! lol

there was a young woman in india , that at the age of 3-4 went to house of her former husband, called him by name, knew all members of the household. i read about that ages ago..happened in 192ish something i think..anyone else remember more of this than i do?

im not sure about past lives but i can sometimes feel dejavu . i see things in my head at times from like the past many many years ago long before my time

Although we may never be able to prove without a dout that we have lived a past life. I belive there is something to it. I belive we are more in touch with our past lifes when we are children. However, We are taught that beliving in such things are considered nonsense... I remember when I was young I seem to know intuitively that I had lived before... But I let go of this notion as I grew up in our society. In some cultures that embrace multiple lives adults do not stop beliving because it is accepted..

I dont think we will ever beable to know about a past life but I blieve there is pastlives and we lived them once before. I once had pas t life reading but for some reason it fit rite

My past lives that i was the one that was cain the one that was made by christ. I walk in A.B. B.C. it was in the dark ages that i lost myself okay stuff. I know that i killed my own father in that time.

Yes and no. In my case I know of past life info and its truth because I had dreams at a very tender age and told them to my grandmother who wrote them down knowing thatno child would have details of history .

I beleive that everyone has had a past life. When you die your soul is left behind. But the rest of you is created in another life form. In some cases your soul that was left behind will cause your new life form to remember things. The question is what is really a true remembrance of your past life or what is really just a dream. There really is no way to know this answer

I've heard of people that we're hypnotized and somehow they exposed all of their past lives. I always get this eerie sense that I've known a stranger's face or that I've already been on in a certain place. Could be deja vu I guess.
