I was just wondering about some of the otherkin that may be on here. Most people on here are vamps or lycans. I was wondering if some of us were other things? My brother has a friend that we suspect may be a siren, but I can't find much information about that particular otherkin. Any info would be helpful.

The Siren, by John William Waterhouse (circa 1900In Greek mythology the Sirens (Greek: Σειρήνες Seirenes or Ἀχελωίδες Acheloides) were sea deities who lived on an island called Sirenum scopuli. In some different traditions they are placed on Cape Pelorum, others in the island of Anthemusa, and still others in the Sirenusian islands near Paestum, or in Capreae (Strab. i. p. 22 ; Eustath. ad Horn. p. 1709 ; Serv. I.e.). All locations were described to be surrounded by cliffs and rocks. Seamen who sailed near were decoyed with the Sirens' enchanting music to shipwreck on the rocky coast, and the Sirens devoured them.

The Sirens were considered the daughters of Achelous (by Terpsichore, Melpomene, Sterope, Chthon (in Euripides' Helen)) or Phorcys (Virgil. V. 846; Ovid XIV, 88). Homer says nothing of their number, but later writers mention both their names and number ; some state that they were two, Aglaopheme and Thelxiepeia (Eustath. ad Horn. p. 1709) ; and others, that there were three, Peisinoe, Aglaope, and Thelxiepeia (Tzetz. ad LycopL7l2) or Parthenope, Ligeia, and Leucosia (Eustath. /. c.; Strab. v. pp. 246, 252 ; Serv. ad Virg. Georg. iv. 562). Their number is variously reported as between two and five, and their individual names as Thelxiepia/Thelxiope/Thelxinoe, Molpe, Aglaophonos/Aglaope, Pisinoe/Peisinoë, Parthenope, Ligeia, Leucosia, Raidne, and Teles. According to some versions, they were playmates of young Persephone and were changed into the monsters of lore by Demeter for failing to intervene when Persephone was abducted (Ovid V, 551). The term "siren song" refers to an appeal that is hard to resist but that, if heeded, will lead to a bad result.

There may be many different types of fey on here.

Non psionic, but powered humans (have no idea what they would be called).

But some of this can be based off of blood and other things (like energy level ect...).


For the info on sirens I have no idea. But keep poking around you never know what you might find.

I couldn’t give you any more information then what has been given about Sirens. The best thing I can tell you about that is just try to look up as much info as you can about it.

As for your other question about Other Kin here I do know there are Dragons Fairies, Fey just to name a few. Some are easy to spot others tend to keep themselves hidden but none the less they are there! If there is anything more specific you would like to know you know I am always here to try and help you where ever I can :)

Well, I had some people call me a Satyr, but whether I am or not who knows. I don't have goat legs, but I doubt some others have physical features of their kind either.

WastedLife most dont I do not think. Though I do know someone that has extra fast (and it is said he his a werewolf) so some things might. But it is in part in how you act among other things.

All of the otherkin I have met, don't have immediately obvious physical traits of the otherkin they are. For example, I had a friend who was fey. She was a little on the short side, but she was also of oriental decent. She didn't have pointy ears, or wings that I ever saw. Most of her traits were things like...she could sit and stare at shiny things for hours, she could move very quickly when she wanted or needed to, and when she got excited, her voice would get fast and a little squeeky. So, I'm assuming that most otherkin would have similar traits...personality and unobvious physical traits.

there are many Otherkins on here just not everyone will reveal themselves to others till totally sure of any ridicule from others and some prefer tojust be private, yet I assure you there are many on here :)

i find this quite facinating and it makes me wonder too what all is out there besides vampires and werewolves..i am always facinated by different beliefs and practices but am only more familiar with vampires and witches

One person once told me that I was a dragon. Weither or not that is true I am not sure. She said the type I was, was an earth. Which seemed to make sense of how I could sometimes summon the weather. I also have this extra sense that is said dragons have.... Also the fact that it looks like my hand is a claw. Theres also times when it feels as if I have these wings on my back, like I could jump up on a building and just fly off. At times it had felt as if I did have a tail but I'm still not sure weither that proves to me that I am. o.O

There are many and even contradictory beliefs in regards to otherkin. Not everyone is expected to believe each other but everyone is expected to appreciate each others belief. I'm ok with that up to the point that it strains every aspect of credulity. When someone tells me they are really a 'furry' spirit, I start to wonder how someone's spirit could be a cartoon dog or anime cat. I understand the theories behind someone feeling that they have certain animal traits or even the psychology of mythological creatures...however, I personally have to draw the line at belief being based on a cartoon.

So far as well as vamps, I have talked to Lycan, Dragon, and Phoenix otherkin.

I have been drawn to this subject for some time, it's what brought me to this site.

Everyone has a story to tell.

I have dicovered that many otherkin have lived through some kind of severe truama in their lives, at the moment it seems to be a common link.

I look forward to learning more.

That was a very good article as was the one posted above. I have seen a few pros that mention they are fey on here, but not many.

As far as other kin goes, you can look up mythology figures in the other Pantheons, these are usually minions as all most are. Sirens came from a form of Greek Mythology, and many others have so many different forms. There's levels of even vamp and lycan kin, yet if one is truly real, they won't speak out about it. We follow a practice like any other religion, to become something of a different nature is something else all together.

I have seen a lot of people say they are fairies, pixies and fey, i am personally just into the vampire/goth lifestyle, nothing else...
