I was wondering if someone could explain a few things...
When I was a little girl around 6-7 i lived in the woods with my family parents,brother).. I use to hear a lot of things that when i would look there would not be anything...Then we (me,mother,brother) started getting knockings at our back door. we had windows that looked thru so u could see the back door perfectly....the knocking would start last about 10 mins.. (even now i get goosebumps remembering this) then they would stop..then start in again..for like 3 to 4x a nite.. approx. off and on this would happen for about a year then it just disappeared..
Also, during that time i started sleeping with my mother (my father came home on sat.. left on suns). there were 3 mornings in a row where i could not move at all...no part of my body except to cry then to yell..
It scared my mother but it only lasted 3x so she forgot about it...
I would love it soo much, if i can get to the bottom of this.. (there are other strange things happened around me but not as bad as this sticks in my mind)..

Once you elliminate the obvious ie : wind blowing tree branches, echo's, etc then I would say that a discarnate entity was trying to get your attention.

Knocking heard by two sisters was the begining of modern day Spiritualism.

I agree with carvall once you think about the things that could obviously be causing this then you should find your solution. If nothing could be causing this then maybe it was some kind of spirit.

Im not sure hun but I beleive it was spirits ..It has happened to me also..

i think they knock to let you know that they are there & that they want to get your attension!! Some do it just to scare you & put fear into you...those some actually fed off fear, the more you fear them the more they haunt you!!

i agree with what was said above me. i also have heard that if u hear knocking and its obvious that no one is there, that you should not ask who is there.

i do not understand.....why would they just spend so much time knocking and then leave without showing any presence there at all?

probably because they can only do so much, being spirits and all. plus i think it helps when the person the spirit is around is open to them. if the person isnt open to other worldly things, chances are the spirit wont go out of its way.

Knocking usually means that a spirit wants to let you know that they are their, or they are trying to tell you to get out...

it could be spirits and it could be you on unconcious mind telling you to open your mind and beliefs

yes but if they want you to know they are there....why just knock for 10 minutes and then just leave?

it does not make any sense why they were there in the first place.....

i have heard knocking too i live in a farm house built in the 1830's in my room theres a storage area in the wall i heard knocking on it like little ahnds knocking like a child that night i had a dream of girls being burned in a fire in this house i reserched it but cant find anything of the history past a certain point of the house but of what there is nothing is mentioned about a fire could be spirits tring to get someones attention to set them free.

i dont agree that the spirit was trying to get u to leave. i think much worse would have happened if the spirit wanted you out.

I personally feel that... as said before once the obvious is ruled out.... the spirit was trying to get some type of attention... whether to get help or to just play with you..... some spirits don't have a purpose they do what ever they want to people.... these are the pranksters.... That may explain why it stopped and hasn't returned... it was scaring you....

As said above I think it was a spirit trying to get your attention in some kind of way.

I think there was a reason for the knocking, to get your attention for some reason or another.

ghost and/or spirits. Sometimes are still lost between worlds and do what they did in their previous life. Not actually knowing their no longer among the living. However there are some that have intentions of scaring or hurting. Whos to say which. Unless you've seen a ghost. Or poltergeist.
I have encountered such spirits before but never a hostile one.

some people have sleep parallises where they cannot move that might be the case..also some spirits just like to let it be known that they are around it could be fore a message or it can be for no aperant reason at all.

I believe a spirit was trying to contact you, thus the escalation trying to get your attention and have you communicate with it. After it realized you didn't have that ability it moved on.

There are several possibilities. One being that there was something, someone trying to contact you, to let you know something, to warn you of something. Possibly the other situation that you described. The inability to move.

I agree with ChaoticKitten why would this ghost or spirit do this knocking for a year and not do anything other than that, then just quit that is kinda weird...

... me being the idiot I am I would have walked out the back door and started telling the spirits to leave me alone...

occam's razor says if you've exhausted all options, that which is left must be the truth. If you were around 12 or 13 might have been poltergeist.

I know this might sound mean or weird.. but I think it might have been tree branches or something because I have lived with many spirits and I have never heard them knock in my life. I heard them doing things but thats about it. If it was a ghost or omen then it was one that knocked on purpose..

capacity to contact communicate with spirits it might be a good thing i have never had any of the above happen to me but i tend to belive that they do exsist

there are things out there that hide. no one knos what they are or what they look like. but the worst thing is that we dont kno what they are capable of. wish i new more. and wish i dont..............

I cannot recall hearing of this event at all.. I remember other things that go "bump" but definantly not knocking...

When a spirirt does such thing is for two reasons. Warning you of danger , or two he/she is a malevolent being. Only if their is a poltergeist then will you really know if its malevolent or not.
