How many people out their is a Sang-Vampyre and please be truthful. When did you awaken and learn what you are. Are you "Out of the Coffin" to family and close friends. Do you currently have a kitra?

I am both Sang and Psy. I awoke around 12-13 years old (I'm 22 now). At the time I had no idea what was going on (and still didn't for many years). It wasn't until around this time last year that I described what I've always had felt to a friend who also turned out to be a Sang and Psy as well. They have helped me finding out who I am and I thank them very much for it. I have told my mother, who has told me how she's always had certain abilities she never understood since she was a child as well as her mother having certain abilities and her younger brother too. It seems that Psy runs in my mom's family but so far I'm the only Sang and Psy. I believe my brother is awakening himself as both a Sang and Psy himself and I have also told his girlfriend who turns out to be a Sang and Psy herself. I've shared with a few other friends who understand but the rest I keep quiet since those friends/family members wouldn't understand.

I knew you would show up SS. Not everyone uses these terms throughout the community. Quite frankly if I was sanguinarian or even hybrid as some refer to it, I wouldn't admit it on such a public place.

~Asphalttears~ my post was for the clarity of the rave that does not know what a Kitra is or entails.

Though I am not sure how to take your comment toward me... a compliment or insult. Either way, I shrugged it off.

I do come off like a prick, don't I... *ahem*

Anywho, Asphalt is correct... there is really no use for terms such as "kitra", "swan - in any context", etc. Unless you are one of those goobers who follows the antiqued "Black Veil". Or part of the O.S.V. (Order Strigoi Vii) path.

Regardless of the phrases or terms used, it all comes down to the same thing. Student and Mentor. But it really has nothing to do with how anyone "feeds".

I mean hell, Sanguinarians are blood drinkers, yes. But a few of them are also psychic vampires in the sense that they can disrupt magnetic or kenetic energies around them, either by accident or choice. Because they as they are vampires, have a higher frequency about them that enables them to use this practice either consciously or sub-consciously.

If the black veil wants to be taken seriously for another generation it needs to be updated...and truth be told in my personal opinion I don't like any sort of rule or guideline that tries to advocate one method of being a vampire as being the right way. there is no one single right or wrong way.

First off i admit nothing i deny nothing as far as blood drinking goes, that being said i think the black veil applys to ALL blood drinkers and other O.V.C or not there should be and always will be rules to keep us safe at all times. I tend to think we allow politics and our own slant on things to get in the way of truly educating the ppl who could truly use the info correctly.

In the efforts to keep the thread focused on the question...
I doubt many will admit if they are sanguine vampires on a public forum. But if you know how to read between the lines of the words of some posts, you can get your answers.

I think personal feeding habits are just that-- personal. Nonetheless, the ethics in question seem to be universal. My understanding is that feeding by consent is acceptible. The Black Veil I think was just an effort to write down a general set of guidelines, but they were mostly common sense.

Off topic:

The Black Veil was as stepping stone for those first coming into the community that supported the O.S.V. (Ordo Strigoi Vii) belief system. Though in these days, the Black Veil is outdated and is considered as "antique" in some perspectives. I personally considered it as a learning tool for RPers who didn't know a damned thing about how to be a vampire when they wanted to claim the role back in the 90's.

On topic:

I don't really think it matters about a comfort zone online when it comes to how someone feeds. Even if it is no ones business how people gain their sustanance. I think the real question is:

"what made you decide to call yourself a (feeding type here) to begin with, what brought you to this concusion?"

(Continued from previous post)

But I digress, and go back to the main topic at hand:

My immediate family does know, and they let me be. As long as I am happy, it really doesn't matter. Though it really doesn't matter what others think about me in the first place. I prefer not to call it "out of the coffin", but more or less "out of the shadows". I don't believe in the "coffin" bit, we are not the folkloric vampires and should not be stereotyped as such.

Since the main poster of this thread has yet to enlighten their audience, I will do it for them:

"Kitra (key-traa): in the vampiric caste system this is an initiated member who functions as a donor, advisor, companion, watcher and altar to focus and balance energy during rituals. A mix of vampire and donor."

In other words... a more experienced individual with the associated skills and mindset to mentor or instruct as well as to nurture their "youngin's" for lack of a better term.

For those of whom either follow the vamp"y"re caste system, or wish to learn about terms associated with that path.

Term and definition found: here and/or here

Who you are should be a conversation with a good friend or two. How you gain your sustanance should most definitely be a private issue and no ones business.

Those who like to talk the sustanance aspect, even if they feel comfortable talking about it need to learn that there is a difference between association and show boating.

Most of us can sense whether or not we are vampi/yre. How we gain the sustanance is personal and to each his/her own. But if for a learning process then to associate and discuss things is a good thing at times. it is when the "who is right vs who is wrong" regarding feeding types comes into play, that things go to the "show boating" area and should be taken out of the conversation.

It is good to share your thoughts and/or feelings. One should maintain common sense and sensibility when in conversations and to know when to walk away before things get heated.

Even though this thread relates only to "Sang" sustanance, doesn't mean that it is the ONLY way sustanance can be attained.

But to each their own, and now back to our show.

"So, what made you decide to come out of the closet? (coffin/shadows)"

Sanguinarian derives from a Latin term, that means bloodthirsty; so the sanguinarians feed on small doses of human blood. They believe that they need the blood in order to sustain their health. In the sanguinarian division of the vampire lifestyle, there are donors, vampires, and those who practice autovampirism. Autovampirism is the act of drinking one’s own blood.

Other members of the vampire community, or lifestyle, frown on the act of autovampirism because they believe that it possesses no benefits that can be passed to the drinker. It’s also viewed as a type of physical self abuse, by those in the community, and also by the majority of those outside the vampire lifestyle. Other members of the sanguinarian division of the vampire subculture are the donors. Just as the term implies, a donor is a person either romantically linked, or not to a vampire who allows he or she to drink blood from them. Usually no more than a couple teaspoons worth is taken. Often, there will be a vampire/donor contract drawn up to help set the perimeters of the relationship, as well as protect against any wrongful accusations of assault that may occur.

There are other groups, usually consisting of teenagers who claim to be vampires, roleplaying games, and many other media outlets for the vampire of history. Some are debilitating, and dangerous, such as the much debated Renfield’s syndrome while others just healthy outlets for a creative imagination. Vampires have held us, as a species, fascinated, horrified, and romanticised for hundreds of years. A world without them… would be bloodless.

The feeling of guilt might come from your moral compass. Even if the practice of consumption is by consent, one feeding party might feel remorse for either the first time feeding or throughout their lives. I think it just depends on the type of person you are. It is normal though, I mean after all... you are consuming another's life force either by psychic or blood consumption.

The best thing to do to counter the feeling is to love the individual you are consuming from. This way, the energies between both parties will be that much better and less of a guilt could be felt.

ok i admit to not being a vampire.
but i do not see the need for sang anymore because its all in the mind .
i mean the pure doing the act of taking in blood thourgh the mouth does nothing for you body because the stomic would turn it into pure proteen and you would not gane energy from it .
but if one was to say take it and put it with there own blood like from vain to artry then that is different they may be some benfit to it then . becaue then the blood would not need to go to the heart but then you would also run the risk of not being same blood type and the body would reject the blood and you would get sick

The conversation has ranged far and wide since the original post (especial thanks to wsoulshroudew for your thoughts) so I'll just quickly say what I'd call a 're-awakening' for me first started a couple of years ago. After a bit of 'I'm losing my mind,' I've learned a lot. As for who knows what, I follow the NTK rule.

As for littleimp's comment, here's the best response I can think to give you. People could conceivably survive on a mash that technically has all the proteins, vitamins and minerals needed. But that's what it would be - surviving. Now, give someone lobster, or steak, or chocolate cake, or just good homemade chicken soup...you get the idea. There's more to 'food' than what it does or does not give you as a living organism.

Haha, that may be why, in my mind, those who consider themselves psys are sorta like vegetarians. Yes, you get what you need and may be perfectly happy but god are you missing out!

I was sixteen when I awoke, as for being a Sang, I was, yet lack of a donor, I had to find alternative means to adjust, such as surviving on the abient energy around me, or feeding from the crowd energy or emotions. Granted not as filling or powerful, but it does the trick.

SS the view you have on those who honor the Veil is yours and is not true! you let those who took it as that jade your views. I will not get into history with one who knows nothing of the real history of gotham because you are not from there nor was you there when it was born! your words are spoken from knowing only what you are told, not from what is real. but this is why there is such discord in our community. I will leave it at that PNG.

The Veil has become jaded and it was Michelle Balanger that first put up grievances about it really all over the net. I haven't read all SS has stated but he is entitled just as much to his views and his are most likely a little heated. NYC is not the hub of the universe and they can most assuredly write and follow whatever they wish, set up their organizations however they wish but trying to make something like a holy writ to me is wrong. It should be only optional and many of the old timers I know remember when it was first written and it was only suppose to be a suggested guideline and nothing more. It should not be preached to everyone and sundry, if you find value in it. If you do then that is your option and you should use it. It was written by two people who thought it would be a good idea. They are not anymore special than anyone else in the community, in otherwords they didn't get zapped with a lightning bolt from some vampiric god. I don't mean to be disrespectful but anyone can write codes of ethics. It doesn't make it the one everyone "must" follow. It's ok but if one doesn't choose to follow that but either embellishes or cuts this one down so be it. Many want their own ideas to be the guidepost behind their groups.

No I am not sang and I don't and never have had a kitra, lol. I don't follow that belief system at all.

see now that is fine but to say those who honor it are goobers or role players is wrong and not only that, MB or Todd are not the one whom wrote it they just brang it to light.
there was such a code in place before the veil not only that no one is forcing anyone to honor it we just ask that for those of us whom do, not to be put down for doing so!

See I wouldn't have been interested in that historical factor. I have read in the past what Sanguinarius wrote about it. It hasn't been written that way in anything I have ever read. It was extracted from White Wolf which I personally don't think means it is role playing but more inspiring. I don't know what tales are being told now and I am going back almost ten years. Before that I wouldn't have cared anyway. I have no problem with anyone who follows these guidelines if they ring true to them or anyone else. It is perfectly fine but it is a misconception that they represent the whole of the community, because they don't. This is a misconception newbies get and I think why some have adopted this stance. Its the same with the Vampire Bible, many think it represents the whole of the community when it only represents one group. It shouldn't be a point of argument for anyone but all should know only certain segments have this as part of their own codexes, rules, bylaws or whatever name they use. I say this with only the deepest of respect because everyone must follow the path they think is best for them.

I think the poster should embellish on what she is asking people. The topic could be interesting but only sanguinary vampires may or may not answer it and I would suspect most won't. I will not intrude on the topic again because this is actually off topic and I ask that everyone please excuse my veering off but the topic of the Veil is rather heated in the community and if brought up may not stay tactful in response.

We are what we are, we follow the path in which inspires and calls to us the most. Wither we follow the very measure of the 'Veil' or some other code of morals, each of us have some measure of protection in which we abide by.

Do not caste upon others in which you cast upon yourself, for all it will do is lead to the misunderstanding of all and the road of ruin will lay before you.

Original Question:
How many people out their is a Sang-Vampyre and please be truthful. When did you awaken and learn what you are. Are you "Out of the Coffin" to family and close friends. Do you currently have a kitra?

My response:

I am a psy/psi vampire. While blood feeding is a method I have used in the past, I feed for necessary energies, no matter the method used. I have been aware of my vampirism a little over 10 years now, but I believe I have been awake closer to 20, although subconsciously feeding for the first half of that time.

I am a member of the OVC (Online Vampire Community), but only two or three people have been told in my offline life. They have all been somewhat supportive, if not fully understanding.

I do not have a "kitra", but then again - I do not subscribe to that path.

I think a good follow up question to this discussion would be:

do you feed for energy or do you feed for something "other"? I am not asking if you are sanguinarian or not. What I am, however, looking for is a definition (or a million since no one agrees on anything) of that elusive "other"...

LMFAO! With statements like these "Unless you are one of those goobers who follows the antiqued "Black Veil". Or part of the O.S.V. (Order Strigoi Vii) path" AND
"The Black Veil was as stepping stone for those first coming into the community that supported the O.S.V. (Ordo Strigoi Vii) belief system. Though in these days, the Black Veil is outdated and is considered as "antique" in some perspectives. I personally considered it as a learning tool for RPers who didn't know a damned thing about how to be a vampire when they wanted to claim the role back in the 90's."
Yet you call me a cyber bully?
Come on bro be realistic!
Not trying to fight with you but you are wrong.
I never down your path so don't down the path of others.
You don't agree with it thats fine but to make statements like these is asking for problems.

Yours in Blood and Shadow

How about we keep the bickering, insults and behavior of that nature out of this thread. If you have an issue take it to private messages.

Let us remember, we have our own directions, our own paths in which we follow. The Veil is a stepping stone, a start, we move on from there, learning more and finding what fits us the best.

Ive been away six months only to come back and find Lord or Noc and SS still wrangling lol maybe is has been a battle down through immortal time?

People should be able to feed how they wish without retribution from others as long as they are not harming an innocent.

I generally keep my feeding habits out in the open on here because my avatar is my solace, close friends on here get to know me deeper. I drink blood if I can get it which is becoming rare and rare as they years go by so i rely on large crowds to feed upon or I use the natural elements and energy provided freely from the earth, a large oak, stormy seas or driving rain.

I'm a sang. Have been since I was, well looking back at when my cravings and feelings started I'd say (believe or not, it's up to you) since I was around 4 years old. However, I didn't have a name to put with it until I was maybe 13.
As for being "out of the coffin" so to speak, my mom and dad don't know. Neither do my sisters or my brother. I have a very close knit group of friends who know about me and have accepted me for who and what I am. Most are also vampyres, some aren't and are most trusted by me.
What generally happens when one of us tries to tell our parents, they will automatically assume we are either 1: lying to get attention. 2: phsychologically sick in the head. or 3: have an over active imagination. (my mother is extremely judgmental so this may not be the case for everyone.)

That is they are dead . but i know in my heart that they are not just they have gone out of this world and are in a better place or i hope they are i am not sure of some but of others like my grandpas and grandmas i know i am sure that they are with God .

As I am new here and just awakening it seems to me that everyone has a different view on things but even in witchcraft we all think and do things differently. To accept others as fellow beings is better than fighting on who is right or wrong. I am very claravoyant and I can manipulate energy and I use it already to regain energies that I need. Everyone has the right to follow whatever they feel is comfortable in their own lives. If we where all the same it would be a boring place.lol

I knew I was different from the get go and my parents know what I am and accept me for that. As for being Sang i don't know yet like I said I have just begun to awake.

Sang is possibly one of the easiest lifestyles there are risks I warned about in another thread; "safe blood feeding." I think we assess who we are, and move along with that. I like being a sang, myself. When taking blood it's as if a bond between me and the donor is created for eternity
