I have wondered if your current religion conflicts with your nature. And if it does, how do you deal with being what you are and being a religion which is very opposed to it? Have you ever had to change your religion just to have it fit with your nature?

I'm not a vampire, but I'd like to give my two cents anyway. I would imagine if someone were raised a Jehova's Witness, then things would get extremely sticky, seeing as how ingestion of blood in any form (Jehova's Witnesses do not accept blood transfusions, even to save their own lives) is cause for immediate dismissal from the however many thousands get a ticket to Heaven.

As far as changing religions to fit my life changes, yeah, I've been known to be a bit religiously fickle...but my reasons for changing religions never had anything to do with my interest in vampires.

If it is a matter of changing religion to fit your lifestyle that seems too convenient for some people I suppose...Almost like a "betrayal"

I am neither a vampire nor am I religious. I have no problem with either of the concepts as long as people are open to my own beliefs.

Really, if you're not hurting anyone...What is the harm?

no because I believe you are judged by what you do, not by what you are. Not all people in the south are racist and not all people in the north are open minded. There is no one group that is evil or damned simply because they belong to that group unless it is purely voluntary. For instance, the KKK. OK enough nasty stuff from me

My opinion is that if your current religion is conflicting with who you truly are, then maybe you follow the wrong religion.

I'm not a Vampire, but I am a person who has made the choice to follow no religion because of who I am and what I truly believe in

no i would never change my religion to fit my lifestyle, my belief does not change therefore i have no need to change anything to fit my lifestyle, there are ways to have it all be together and each part fits your life in its own way.

I didn't "change" my religion, I simply walked away from it, as it no longer serves my life style and belief system.

If it does'nt fit, then you have to walk away.
Trying to bend the rules of a religion that conflicts or even condemns you is being a hypocrite. It does'nt work like that. Now knowing that you are free to chose what religion will or for that matter religion is not whats inside you, your spirituality is, so you don't have to change your belief, thats what matters anyway.

I think both Cadamia and Wolf are rite on track. Ultimately the religion you choose should fit your lifestyle, especially since religion is a lifestyle of sorts that is really meant to serve not dictate. however some folks do choose a contradicting religion so they can proove to themselves or others that they can abstain from certain things. i think that practice is admirable but needless. i changed my religion because i desire to not be afflicted by that which is supposed to help/assist you.

Personally I still think religion has nothing to do with lifestyle...Religion should not be a factor for a way of life, as it is just a faith boundary.

Interesting question,

I have seen countless people “church shop” as it’s called, so they could find a group or in this case religion that fit their personality. It happens all the time.

Personally I would not be involved in an organization (religion) that conflicted with my own ideology.

I really have no problem in fitting my own nature to the environment and its own customs. I have always been highly adaptive individual, wich has no problem in expressing one self in what ever direction I might, with out having to feel pain in my inner, with out my nature having to disagree.

I am not religious so to speak so no it does not conflict with my way of life at all. I believe in a plethera of things, some of which have been taken from previously made religions but I agree with no one religion in it's entirety

I think your understanding of your own faith, how you feel about your belief systems changes as you mature. I think it may be natural for people to change their religions or beliefs over years as their experience changes.

Othis you crack me up. Moving right along...

I can gaurantee if I went in to any Christian Church anywhere in the world and stood up and proclaimed I was a vampire (which I'm not) the proverbial shit would hit the fan. You want to see a bunch of people have a mass freak out fit?

My vampyric or non-vampyric life style has nothing to do with the fact that my organic religion does not fit my current state of being mentally or physically. In my church what you wear on Sunday morning is more important to the parishoners than the fact that you showed up. G_d I need more beer now...

I have no religion and am still pondering what or where my true beliefs lie. But it seems to me that you would want them to blend or that they naturally would. But there are always plenty of hypocrites that don't practice what they preach.
