My Father in law passed away last night.

We stayed with his Mom last night as he is an only child. We got very little sleep. I am now so tired I am having trouble putting sentences together but since he is in the shower I wanted to put this here.

Services will be at Hoppers Funeral home in Barbourville. Visitation Thursday from 6-8ish and funeral Friday at 1...full military at graveside. He was a frontline Korean War veteran.

I had not realized that he was on the frontline. I am glad they decided to do the military funeral.

So very sorry Birdie but the full military funeral is both haunting and yet full of pride.

I hated it then....and I hate it now.....

I am talking about algebra and graphing and word problems.

I hated it when I was in high school and college and I hate it now when my hubby is taking the class and needs help with it.

Sigh....I try...and some it I remember but most of it..GRRRRRRRRR. We have used video tutors and he had a tutor in person. Just one more month of it......and it will be done.....never to darken my door again I hope.

One more....then no more

y=mx+b and other shit..er um stuff.

LOL! I quite liked algebra but for some reason, simple arithmetic always had me in tears in school. Maybe it was my teacher though, waaaaaaaaaay back when teachers didn't even have to like kids.

I am a bit rusty but I do believe that:

x= (y-b) /m

b= y-mx

m= (y-b)/ x

5th Year Anniversary

5 years..

FIVE YEARS.......wow.....

I would have never believed I would have been here that long when I first created this profile. I did it to know what the heck Rat and Cat were talking about all the time. And to be honest, that is partly why I still stay. I would be left out of half the conversation if I wasn't here. Although I still don't know all the stuff they talk about, I at least have an idea most of the time. Grins.

But anyway......Happy Anniversary to ME! I stayed, I have written in my journal and posted pictures in my portfolio over the years. This is now part of the chronicle of my history.

Kudos Cancer for a site that brings folks together, keeps their interest for the long term, and holds their stories for others to share.

I am glad I came and stayed. Happy Joining Day!!

RQ has it right... You've shared a piece of your life with us crazies for 5 years, and I am most certain our intrinsic absurdity has rubbed off on you. I for one am glad you found your way here and stayed :)

Hubby and I packed a picnic and went early to the area fireworks display in the next town last night.(ours is tonight) We had our picnic, walked over and listened to the music, watched the hula hoop and twist contests, ate some ice cream and then went back to the car. Had some nice conversation with the people parked next to us and then watched the fireworks.

It was a lovely evening.
