This isn't about any one person, just blogging.

It's usually the whippersnapper new guys that are cocky. I've met a lot of older NYPD that we're really nice and helpful..

Yes putting them down sucks, but if they are so sick that their existence is really shitt... why make them live through it?

My cat had a failing liver due to the Menu Foods thing here. The food was contaminated and there was nothing I could do for him. Instead of having him starve or die of dehydration... I had him put down. He could barely walk around. I think it's cruel to make an animal live in pain instead of letting them die.



I would do the same for a friend or family member if their suffering were so terrible that living was worse than dying. Like this man who killed his daughter because she'd been in pain since the day she was born, and who's quality of life was so low that he made the choice to kill her.



As her father, he was looking after her life and had control over it only because she would never be able to make decision on her own. But maybe thats a lil too far from the original topic.



However, I understand that shelters get full and resources limited but killing innocent animals for no reason but that IS cruel. They should exhaust every possible option before killing them.

Sadly,it really is essential that we have to put an animal down in certain situations.As stated above,when they are too sick or is truely dangerous etc.. But doing it just because there is no room is really pretty disturbing to me.but if no one can take care of it how would it survive in this day and age except in the wild..and that in itself poses a problem for people.Shame really.We not only pig the world we really dont take good care of it.One day we are going to learn that lesson the hard way.

I still don't think we have any right to put down an animal for any reason. It is simply not our choice. They are wild animals. They should be in the wild, and die in the wild. We have no right to adopt them from the wild, but if we do, we certainly have no right to kill them or mistreat them for any reason.



Does someone put you down if you have cancer? If your liver is failing? No, they leave you be and let you die. Animals are no different.



We harm them just by making them domestic.



When you watch television or anything and they say "No animals were harmed in the making of this"...it's a lie. We don't know what harms animals. Not physically, not emotionally, and not mentally. We hardly know anything about our own race. Science is still very immature today.



So I stick with my opinion that people have no right to control any life but their own.

You're right,we have no right to mistreat anything.But we do.Thing is,those dogs you say are wild and should remain so?..did you know that it was those wild dogs that sought people out and hung around their villages and campfires? And to say that its a lie that animals are harmed in movie making these days is wrong Mikey.I work with animals on movies and its very strict and careful and we are careful not to over work them or hurt themWe love them.So please,while you re entitled to your opinion,you might get some first hand experience at something before coming to one.Now granted,yes they were really bad back in the day,with trip lines and such..but those days are gone.And the one thing that prooves that an animal is content and taken care of? Is it will thrive.I know animals.I have been around and worked with and healed them all of my life.Not every animal wants to be wild.But one thing I really agree with you on is that we,as custodians of this planet,should take care of them as best can and not mistreat or hurt them.

We don't understand animals yet. Not even a little. We think we do, we think we understand everything and everyone. But we really, REALLY don't have a clue. We THINK we have a clue, but we do not.



We don't know what an animal is thinking when we touch it, or grab it, or play with it. It could be smiling and playful by human standards, but by animal standards it could mean something completely different. Just take all those tragedies that happened over the years with "trained" animals eating people, killing people. Yea we think we know them and have control over them, but reality is we don't have anything but our own egos and delusions.

It happens all the time.Peeps get hurt or hurt an animal when they make the mistake of thinking an animal thinks and feels as a human does.And Im sorry Mikey I have to disagree in that we dont know anything about them and have no understanding of their behaviours.Fact is,we have made big strides in that and communication with them is getting better all the time.But it has taken alot of observation and patience and such.No,no one knows everything about an animal but we know more than youre giving us credit for here.Has someone done or have you seen somthing recently that got you going on this?See if you were to walk out with lets say,a horse,you would probably get yourself hurt.Whereas,I wouldnt.Because i have an understanding of their language and what ticks them off and what doesnt.My horses come to me and follow me all over the place.I ride them with no bridles or saddles.They meet me at the gate so I can.

I had meant to tell you something though that might give you some encouragement as far as leaving animals alone.In Bulgaria,they dont put their stray dogs in pounds or put them down or anything like that.They tag their ear and let them alone.There are about 40,000 of these strays that roam the city of Sophia.

Even PETA puts dogs, and cats down, in mass.

I really have been trying to understand their concept that this angel was fallen since it is not what they say in Judaism. What it does is a job for God and he was never fallen. He is the adversarial angel, and angel of death according to the Jewish Encyclopedia. Their views predate Christianity. I really don't know how a lot of things started but I have read most of the theories. I think Satan is still there if he ever existed. I guess that would depend on personal beliefs. It is just an interesting conundrum.

I agree and with the sizes of the meals increasing all the time (for just a little bit more money), they wonder why we have such gluttony now a days. They made it even worse when they started accepting credit cards; now you don't even have to make sure you have cash on you to get food...you can swipe your card and go!
