I must repost this comment to an entry of mine where I was bitching and moaning about someone on here who types in ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME. The same person who blocked me (do not remember why but it must have been a good reason) and then visited my profile and journal constantly.



IRREGARDLESS

This comment threw me off for a moment. It's strange when someone does such a poor job at communicating through text, you actually think they mean something else. For a moment, I thought they were AGREEING with me.



Then I realized, they were telling me to go take my meds.



So, if I view all caps as screaming, I should go and take my meds because I forgot them?



If I feel like I'm getting hit by a bus as the wheels roll over my body, I should go and take my meds because I forgot them?



When reading my entry, do the words I choose to type out in all capital letters have a bit of emphasis on them? When you read them, can you imagine the tone and rhythm?







I'm not going to be IGNORED Dan!



So it has an effect of emphasis in your mind... Now when someone talks all in caps, it's all emphasized, and all fucking annoying.

Because it doesn't bother me one bit.

How do I rate fairly? If I rate a new member higher, understanding that they might add more later, am I giving them an unfair advantage as a whole as many of them may not update?



Or maybe they do update but it's still a shit of a profile.



There is no way for me to rate fairly, I'll have to judge them like I do profiles that are established here and hope that they'll ask for a re-rate when they do something with their presentation...
