I would have thought that 70 years of age was a bit long in the tooth to develope manic drepression, especially with no prior history.
Mary's ex Mick who is undergoing treatment for cancer has become mentally very confused, so much so as to cause her to call the police last night to break down his door after the gp did'nt feel inclined to do anything about it.
Turns out the ambulance people could not take him to hospital as he said he was fine.
She came to me by taxi this afternoon after not being able to get in again today, long story short we got the emergency doc out who says he is not confused but manic.
Now Mary is round his place waiting for the emergency psych guy to come and visit, hopefully then he can get the treatment he needs.
She just called me to tell me if they both get incarcerated can I go round and water her plants....
PS to last entry : My friend has been gracious.
I feel better.

Of course they have, isn't that what real friends do? *smiles*
Well I hope a lesson was learnt!
Yeah!!! lol
Should of checked it....na na, na na na ^^
Come on swear dam you ; )
I was going to make this entry x-rated, ie alot of swearing, but to be honest I'm drained....have'nt got a good cuss in me.
Long story short, mess up at post office trying to get mail to USA asp, paid for one service and got label for another stuck on the mail....no I never put it on, the guy in the Post Office did it.
So, I'm left with a dissapointed friend who will now have to wait til Tuesday for what was promised yesterday.
Plus I have to negotiate the parcel force web site to claim the money back that I paid for the express service.
Though I did my best and the fault was not mine I feel terrible like I really let someone down.

I'm sure your friend understands fully and knows these things tend to happen.
The pie was good.
I told him if only he was'nt such a misserable old git I would marry him.
His face showed an interesting mix of fear and panic.

haha love it :)
*Chuckles*
Did you hold out your plate for another piece? :p
Of course lol
So you'd go all the way for a piece of pie .... what would you do for a whole one?!! lol
It's thought by some that there is a reason for certain people coming and going from our lives.
Maybe they have something to teach us, or we them.
Two new people have recently come into my life, I have a feeling they will be round for a long time.
The first is Mad-dog my new big boss. Nobody knows why old big boss has lost us.
The nick name came about I'm told as the lady in question has eyes that protrude a little more than usual and is fond of saying the usual big boss things like " Don't be negative, come to me with a answer to the problem " and she also tends to run round in circles.
Pat and I adore her. We know just how to handle her, it's the ole nod head and smile routine. She has none of the Slickness of Slick, who I still see most days, sometimes he even waves at me and gives me a smile, a smile which says " Yes, I remember you, your the one who got away " My answering smile says " I most certainly did ".
Sadly our other colleagues are mighty upset, and a confrontation is not far away, soon as little boss comes back from leave.
Person number two is my all time favourite, her name is Veronica, no nick-name as yet.
She seems to be as efficient as a member of the Borg, and just as determined to assimilate Pat and I.
She has however told us a couple of things which are just not right, and I have corrected her with a smile each time, she has failed thus far to add to our perfection.
Veronica is Mad-dogs clerical head, which makes her our boss too, Pat and I have lost count of how many bosses we actually have, being the bottom of the feeding chain can often be confusing.
Her looks are compelling, well they are to me anyhow. Thing is, she has a lovely figure and hairstyle, carries herself well, it's a face thing, (yea, she ugly).
Now, before you think I'm being "lookist" here, you should know that my face is "unfortunate" too so I don't feel bad about writing this. It's hard not to stare at her mouth and nose area, it kind of draws me in, she has some kind of growths, not quite boils but not far off, a Nanny Mcfee kind of thing going on there with that face.
Yep, the fun times are on the way.
Do I miss the challenge of Slick ? No, common or garden badass I can cope with, he was and will always be in a class of his own.
COMMENTS
All hail Veronica!!
I think I will like her warts lol! Remnds me of 'Nice legs, shame about the face'
Whenever I think I miss work I read your journal and remember exactly why it's great not to be there anymore. We were so below the lowest rung of the ladder we called ourselves the red-headed bastard step-children. *keep grinning at Slick, somewhere behind his eyes he's got to be thinking what's she know that I don't?*

I'm on a promise tonight. (Whaddya mean you don't believe me ? )
Phil has recently discovered the joy of ready made puff pastry, so tonight he has promised to bring round some kind of savoury pie.

So did Phil bring the pie? That sounded yummy. I want some now!
What about the wine?
Betrayal is never easy to deal with.
How a person deals with it depends like so many other things on their life experience to date.
Once upon a time I would have, well, not been so laid back about it, but nowadays I wait and watch, stay calm and then witness how the betrayer handles the inevitable backlash, yep, reaping and sowing.
A couple of weeks ago my trusty side-kick Pat and I were shafted by a couple of people at work.
We now have yet another big boss whose impact is worthy of her own journal entry later.
Two of our close knit team thought they could get all warm and friendly with the aforementioned new big boss ( will they never learn ) and decided that Pat and I could take on more of their work.
Thing is, Pat and I are pretty open and friendly types, that being so other people tend to confide in us, knowing whatever they say will not be passed on.
So, we knew what was coming before it came.
In short we followed the sensible boss pollicy of "nod head and smile" then ask innocently ( yea, I can still do innocent ) which part of our existing workload do we leave undone. This results in new boss having to engage brain and find out what we actually do in the first place and think of a way to slot in all the extras.
After a few days, new boss realises it's not possible for us to do more than we do, in fact she is impressed that we do so much.
Then the reaping part comes in.....new boss decides a change of working practice for the team...oh dear, that did'nt go down well at all for them, but hey, me and Pat do our best to look sympathetic, by which I mean, we don't rub our hands together and make made cackle like sounds, not when they can hear us anyway.

LOL, you ebil lady (read that with a creepy little accent, thus the b in evil hehe)
Perfect...!
People do reap what they sow!
I love it :) yes I am that evil too it's just such a lovely warm feeling when shafter's get their comeuppance. Even better if the shaftee can keep clear of the fallout!
Oh that was just too Good!! They kinda ask for it you know?
Hmmm, how best can I cellebrate Australia day ?
If only Borked was still around I would have asked him to stroke a kangaroo on my behalf, he woulda done it too lol.
Guess I'll just have to sing Waltzing Matilda on the bus home....wow those other passengers have a real treat in store.

Just been reading some quotes from Anton LaVey.
Reminds me of Slick.
Question is, who was the teacher and who the student ?
The thought disturbs me, I must calm myself with chocolate.
COMMENTS
Was the quote in question .. “It's too bad that stupidity isn't painful.”
Chocolate...good..Slick...bad...lol.
I only saw the word chocolate!

This used to work wonders for me with my Captain, I'd keep a big grin on my face no matter what bs he was pushing until he'd grind to a halt to ask what I knew that he didn't? *insert evil laugh* Since he was too long winded I enjoyed it every time.
I thought you just had wind!
Well this explains why people have been looking at me with massive grins..
So true - LOL!
Earthquake, fire, flood, ice and snow, illness, death and general all round chuffing nasty stuff and still the human Spirit goes on : Gotta give that ole Spirit its due....that's a hellova lot of staying power right there.
I've been reading journals offline whenever I got the chance so I'm kind of up to date on what's been going on, ie: I knew before I saw his avi that theBan was on....I hate the smell of pickled eggs.
There had to be a lady involved with Bloodlife of course, bout the only thing that stops him writing. *grins*.
Even a vacation does'nt stop Images from keeping us up to date and loved seeing her pictures along with the Rats.
Old fish face is as stoic as always and even through personl tradgedy finds time to say hello how are you.
As for me, well I'm home, it's quiet, bliss.
