I could have gotten through that defence and scored a few goals myself, and that's all I'm saying about it.
Well what a day.
Ole Mad-dog called me just before hometime this afternoon.
Long story short she paid me alot of compliments.
Sadly that shallow as a puddle part of me blossomed, happily the sensible part of me kicked in as a reminder that "management" always have an agenda, only a matter of time before I find out what's going on :)
First things first though, I have a whole five days off, I'm so happy I don't know what to do with myself.
Thanks mostly to me wearing my lucky socks, England has made it through to the final 16.
COMMENTS
I wore my lucky cocksock and you can thank me later for qualifying
woo hee, and now you can wash them :)
Keep them on hun :-s
I thought it was my naked fire dance that did it!
And it was just the socks...right lol
I agree with Bloodlife, keep them on dam it!!
Today has been a good day.
My friend Janice came round to see me, we caught up with each others news and laughed alot.
When she left I told her I'd see her in the Autumn, like myself she is "not home" to callers in the hot weather :)
When I woke up this morning at 5.00am I was sorely tempted to throw myself a pity party.
I've had a water infection for the last few days and antibiotics have lowered my spirits.
Then this morning my back went.
Then no internet connection.
Then I realised I was boring myself with my own missery.
So, a bath and hairwash later I feel alot better and will ask Phil to take me into town.
I'm wondering what Derek (him downstairs) is thinking. Windows were wide open and I did an awful lot of shouting trying to get out of bed :)
COMMENTS
When it rains, it it pours- doesn't it?
I've been getting down in the dumps lately. But then I keep climbing out of it as I watch good things happen to other people. Funny how that works. My circumstances aren't changing- but I feel better because people worse off are finding lights at the end of their tunnels :D
Is it bad that the "No internet connection" sounds the worst to me, out of all your horrible things list?
Water infection?
*Waves* to H. Yes you are very bad Invidia *grins*. Urine infection Pan :)
No, no, no, n- I-, no, no, no, BORKED.
Derek heard all the shouting.
Gimme a shout when you have a min and I'll phone you ... ve have vays or cheering you zup!!
When I had a water infection they tested me for STD!
"Men don't get water infections" Dr Green scoffed!
Yeah ok right, not!
She ended up giving me antibiotics in the end.
Hope it's sorted out for you now x
My neice just sent me a batch of family photos via e-mail.
Man I have to say it, the females of the first two generations have been hit hard with the ugly stick.
Happily the third generation are quite beautiful.
COMMENTS
I look at my niece and am thankful she doesn't have the strong family resemblance the older of us do too.
Ouch lol
Let me get this right ... what generation are you putting yourself in?!! lol
Wow your brave Bloodlife! : )
I have no real reason to be up at this late hour, nor anything particular to say.
Just pondering about the people I know and love. I like a good ponder now and again.
The pizza and garlic bread are in the fridge ready for the game tonight.
Theban is anxious he says in case the USA actually beats us. Meh > this is of course merely an excuse for booze to calm his nerves before kick-off.
I have a back-up plan, I'm calling Bloodlife tomorrow and if the game went badly he's going to have a very wet shoulder. Don't tell him though or he wont answer :)
COMMENTS
If the US beats England I'm going on an epic crusade against Amerikind
Booze makes all losses easier to handle.... like I told TheBan I'm really glad I'm southern and it's still a big insult to call us Yankees. lol
I'm watching the game now....my knees hurt just watching those guys run! but OOOO...how HOT they are! And the fans are so damn LOUD!! gawd I would go off my nut if I was playing, all those horns tooting and people yelling.
'It's not fair!' just thought I would say that! lol
and look what happened 1-1.
I mean...come on these British guys are paid shed loads!
I am employing my finely honed Ninja skills to sneak me cuppa past One of One onto the handy little shelf under Pats desk. I'm damned good at it too.
No meeting today. Mad-dog is being attacked on all sides but seems to be enjoying it, she has that knowing better than you look about her.
My money is on ole Mad-dog, shame too many people would be upset or I would take bets.
Nurse Ruth (she who has two speeds, dead slow and stop) got thrown out of my (Pats) office today, wanting me to fetch and carry for her when she could see how busy I was.
Come to think of it, I have'nt ever seen her move that fast.
On the home front I don't know how I'm going to cope with the demands of so much "good" tv just now.
The last ever Big Brother starts tonight, clashing with Junior Apprentice and then the World Cup in a few days.
Still, if I have a break-down at work I could stay home for a couple of months....problem solved :)
I noticed this afternoon when I started to get a tad stressed, I was talking very loudly and making innapropriate jokes.....
The promised chart did not appear this morning, nor was there any kind of explanation.
Pat had to go home mid-morning as her back gave out again.
No idea how one of one will deal with this, should be interesting.
My neice has asked via e-mail about my life, it did'nt take long to reply as I'm a sad act with no social life :)
Journal dear, it's a good job you don't actually have a "voice" of your own.
If you did you would surely ask how I keep sane bearing in mind what happened at work on Friday.
Once again Jan ( she who has now completly lost all sense of .....well, all sense really ), has tried to shaft the collective of five. Thing was she forgot we are now a collective, each of us knowing what the other is doing admin wise.
She tried to tell Mad-dog a dumb lie to try and prove a point in my hearing. So of course I put her right, Mad-dog had to intervene.
The outcome is this : Fist thing Monday morning a "special" chart will be on Pat's desk. It will detail not one but five coloured stickers to be used to highlight the different documents that the Doctors need to look at.
The aforementioned documents by the way are all in one booklet placed in the front of the notes. So, basically we are saying the Consultants are too stupid to see, then open a six paged booklet.
I put the smile back on my face (best place for it) and said fine, I'll do that. However I am perfectly entitled to own a personal opinion and it's this : What you are asking of us is a shocking waste of time and resources.
Couple this with the fact that the two and a half admin we have been promised was only one admin (me) on Friday and by the middle of next week everything will grind to a halt as no notes will be ready, is going to make for a very interesting meeting on Wednesday.
On the home front my hoover died yesterday so Phil went to collect a new allbeit very cheap one for me. The old extention pipe fits so I was able to finally get those pesky cobwebs from the hallway. I am no longer in danger of becoming Miss Haversham.
COMMENTS
I look forward to next Wednesday's journal then. It' s always amazing to me how the more educated and higher up in a job the more simple minded help they have to have from those in lower paying jobs.
I actually have a pink feather duster! ^^
It was the only colour that I could find!
Janey Cutler, an 80 year old Scots lady with a voice powerful enough to knock you into next week.
What a gem of a find. A contestant on Britains Got Talent.
I reckon she's the Big Yin's Mum.....
No tea to be on my desk ?......No tea ?....meh > now I have to stand up and be all damn British about it all.
Or maybe I'll just be sneaky and put the tea on the little shelf bit under my desk....
COMMENTS
Can't eat at your desk .. what a silly rule.
no tea...wtf is wrong with people. now I crave tea..... Curses!!!
Tea is nice with cake yum lol
No tea? How about a big bottle of booze? :P
Cool then put you a large mug under the desk with a long flexible tubing (for a straw) in it and sip away all day long. If you make enough noise with the "straw" they'll let you have your mug back on the desk. :)
Now now, you know the rules!
I don't wanna play this game no more.
For once me and my inner child agree.
The collective is not working out and we are all mean and moody, amazing how some people thrive on that :)
