...ah, Monday. Right back to the routine...
...it was strange to have that much paint covering my head. My eyelids felt very heavy and my skin felt old and scaly.
The pictures, however, do look a bit more than awesome. Good work by Morri on those. Very, very impressive and creative.
..going to web cam as Morri starts to make me... into... something else. Heh.
That was fun! Thanks for everyone who joined Morri and my dual webcam show and photo shoot!
COMMENTS
As you might have read in Morri's journal, we will be doing a live webcam broadcast of a photo shoot tonight. I have my cam up and am working on some of the prep... feel free to join me.
..spending a bit of this morning catching up on services on the work bench. Just to get them done.
Can I reiterate right now how much I hate Windows Vista?
FEH. I should charge double for any system that comes in with Vista on it.
Pssssst! She's talking about you!
...or, maybe not. You never know.

It's all about me!
And she's saying such wonderful things too! :P
Are you trying to warn us or have us catch onto it? :P
It's my fault- if it's Wednesday, it always my fault...lol
Listening to an old Jethro Tull CD... ah... memories.
I have updated photos in my blog portfolio - Anchorage 2008, San Diego 2008 and Melbourne, 2007.
You can see them here.

wow.
Loved the buildings especially. That red sunset over the beach was awesome too.
More please soon :P
I loooooove the Australia images.
...and the black and white ones, and the landscapes, and...
I love them all, and I looked at all of them- you see such beauty in everything, but then again, you have some real beauty right there at home to look at- but your eye sees such perfection- and the captions were great.
...spending the morning getting through some basic photo edits for the photography site. I have a ton of pictures from my travels I've never really gone through and touched-up since learning a LOT more about how and what to do from Morri.
Right now I'm working on Alaska, Spring 2008, just because mountains and snow are fun.
I also managed to make a horn out of expandable foam, which turned out pretty good. I have to make another - and I'm going to make a head dress out of them for a photoshoot. First attempt - we'll see how it works out.
I'll link the gallery here once I have the edited pictures done and up...
It is 25F and winds of 20-35mph... a lovely day. I think it's time to go outside and play.

And yet here, it is sunshiny and warm and a gentle breeze is blowing-
Great White North, my ass.....
Dude, you need a sailboat. ;)
It's presently right at the freezing mark, although it was much warmer earlier today.
The boat would have to be an ice breaker. They're still driving out to the ice fishing tents in the harbor.
Errrrr...I guess I shouldn't complain about the rainy 50 degree weather here...
Sometimes it's just so much fun to be the spoon that stirs the pot...
COMMENTS
Indeed it is. It's just too satisfying to be the agent of chaos.
Until someone turns off the gas! ;)
I love this. And it's so very true.
...no cleverly crafted innuendo intended. However, I must say Morri would have undoubtedly run out in the snow barefoot as well - and did, after she went and put pants on.
I didn't know if she wanted me to mention the part that she was getting ready for our networking meeting and had let the dogs out while in process, and was not wearing pants...
...it is NOT "THAT" kind of office here.
Ok, it is. But only on Thursdays, really.
One of the puppies managed to squeeze out of the pen that contains the dogs just now. That isn't a good thing - we live on a busy county highway and although the pen is in the back, the front yard isn't very deep to get to the road so very quickly there could be a lot of trouble...
Morri hollered to me for help and I raced down from our office to her... but all my shoes are by the office entrance... so I pulled off my socks and ran out into the knee deep, icy snow to go grab the puppy (Bria).
Wooo... gotta tell you. At first, it's refreshing. But after about 60 seconds, the feet went completely numb.
But it's good experience, since I want to do a shoot with Morri where I will be the subject and will get a wee-bit undressed in the snow...
...what doesn't kill us... right?
COMMENTS
It could be colder ;)
What a waste of good frontal nudity- that poor thing will NEVER come outta hiding...lol
Birra is my hero *heart melts*
Quick mention... I'm not the type that can't go out into the snow without a man: I wasn't wearing pants.
Yep, what doesn't kill ya makes you stranger. ;)
Lol I was about to pretty much say the same thing the Puppy (RedQueen) did about shriveling appendages!
What doesn't kill snaps off if it gets too damn cold. Just sayin.
Ok... so my kids have had it. Now Morri has had it.
Not good... I've seen it. I don't want it. Too much to do tomorrow... work, networking meeting, customers, cleaning the house... no, no, no.
If anyone has some kind of voodoo spell to cast o fend away the flu bug from me I would be grateful.
COMMENTS
mask- and NO KISSING
But chances are, after taking care of the kids, you're probably next, sugar- bugs know no mercy...
*burns a hula coconut bra* You never know. Either the flu will pass you by, or you'll stop shaving your arm pits.
I'll never stop shaving my arm pits...
Echinacea.... it comes in a bottle and you drop it under your tongue. Everyone in my house has been sick for weeks except me... I felt the onset and started with the drops and it went away. It works... it also tastes damn nasty.
Duck and cover, B....duck and cover!
If I had that voodoo spell, I would use it on myself right now. Hope you feel better!
Yes, the title is a spam email subject.
*tip toeing*
The bathroom smells better this morning. I think it was the throw rugs that got wet from the leaky roof making the funky "just pooped in" smell. Going to have to soak them...
Yeah, not sure why I'm putting this in my journal, but... whatever.
COMMENTS
Be feeling glad your choice in removal of poo poo rugs.
Much thanks of me to yours.
Because you feel like it?
Satisfy her all night long with Discount V1agr.a and poop-free RUGS!
...coffee and breakfast before 7AM for me... unheard of.
Stupid brain.
...changes are afoot. They have to be. Not sure what direction this will go in, but I'm not one to sit ans wait for that direction to find me.
....and in this case, I'm referring to my blessed coffee. Have I mentioned how much I love this coffee?
We started getting our coffee from a local coffee roaster - they fresh roast and package their beans right on site. Per cup, we're paying less than we would for packaged, gourmet coffee from a store. Yes, more than mass marketed stuff like the cheap brand names, but much less than we would for something like Starbucks packaged, or some of the other gourmet brands.
And this stuff is fantastic.
Unfortunately, this morning, there isn't enough of it.... or at least, I can't possibly consume enough of it...
...I love a good bout of insomnia at the right time. I drove straight through from Wisconsin to Buffalo yesterday. 16 hours straight, with stops.
We got in around 6AM and got to bed about 6:30. And, I was awake at 10.
There is some work to do...
COMMENTS
@.@ *yawns*
*chuckling* ain't it grand? I drove from Blue Springs Missouri to Vancouver, BC in 17 hours- with stops for gas, etc.
God, I never want to have to do that again...lol
Yeah, that old insominia....a double edged sword sometimes.
...I know I have several friends here who are Steelers fans, but it was good to see the Pack win that one.
Oh, and Morri and I teamed up to make an incredible Nacho plate with guacamole dip.... All yellow and green, by her insistence. ;)
COMMENTS
YAY PACKERS!!!
And me from Georgia...lol
Hey...if we had to lose to someone, I'm glad it was The Pak. They definitely deserved it. And Aaron Rogers has such smokey bedroom eyes....oops, sorry bout that. And the Nachos sound great. But where did you find green and yellow meat?
Something about this place... the scent. The environment. The warmth. It feels special. It feels very much like a special place.
It feels very... home.
COMMENTS
It's a good feeling.
.The poontang
Yes. Yes, there is that. Too.
*hand to head*
ohmigawd.....you just had to go there didn't you...
As often as possible, yes?
*heels clicking together* There's no place like.....well you know.
...the first part of the drive went well.
Except for the malfunctioning toll booth in Indiana that we were stuck at for 20 minutes.
And the traffic in Chicago we were stuck in for 2 hours.... gawd, people simply don't know how to drive.
Anyway... spent the night near Madison. Will resume and complete the drive this morning.
Onward!
Emergency cooking on cam time! I have 2 hours to get a seafood gumbo together for tonight's networking meeting!
Come watch me perilously make a roux!
...score one for the big, dumb primate - but the rodent is back in his cage.
My apologies for anyone who looked for my kitchen-cam and didn't find it - a conversation began when I started cooking that I both needed to be attentive to and did not want broadcast publicly. Yes folks, real life will always.... ALWAYS win out.
BTW, you didn't miss much. I almost burned the home-made refried beans and over all I was very disorganized tonight. It's best no one saw it.
I have an entertainment PC set up on the conference room / living area display. It is also where Morri and I keep most of our music. When it is on, the screen saver scrolls through hundreds of my favorite pictures that I have taken. Oh, and there is probably more I can put on there but our of sheer laziness, I haven't.
However, I do enjoy just sitting and watching it. Remembering where I was... the feelings I was experiencing as I took the shot. I think that is one of my favorite things about photography... it isn't a distraction from life; it is simply part of it. And as I feel, experience and learn, the photography becomes not just art... not just a picture. It becomes a part of me. The emotions of the moment... like two horses standing in the rain, or the sun glowing on a golden beach, or a single, perfect yellow rose, or my children playing... my photos help me remember the moments and the feelings.
I hope I never lose that...
