This weekend was our weekend for our pumpkin carving tradition. The kids always enjoy it and it's fun to see how their ideas and artistry change over the years.
They grew some of their own this year - these smaller ones, for their small garden, was the fruit of their labor - no pun intended. So it was extra enjoyable for them. Their mom also bought them a Dremmel pumpkin carver which is a neat tool for doing skin cutouts without carving all the way through.
Unfortunately in the hands of a 10 year old, it just turns into a random pumpkin flinger.
Anyway, the results were fun and interesting...
...that idea is going over like a fart in an elevator...
...I'm considering a new avatar. Thinking about having a "Pick Birra's Avatar" contest.
You come up with the idea and I'll do my best to photograph it.
The floor is yours, VR... let's have the ideas!
And remember... it must adhere to TOS...

It would be awesome to see you doing one where it looks like you're peeking through a window.
I'm thinking something with you underwater, and lots of colorful flames...lol
You want a picture of me on fire in my underwear?
I've heard of some strange kinks... but...
Hey, a gilr's gotta have her priorities...
Not to mention a few hobbies to give her warm memories in her old age...LMAO
And I meant just your face, smartass....
HOWEVER....

Demented Dr. Birra with paper mask, scrubs, and coming at us with a scary stethoscope...or other scary medical equipment.
Ooo.. I like that one.
...and I've said this to a couple people today, one way or another...
My intention with the previous entry was NOT to pick on the artist in any way, whatsoever.
I'm still not sure what it is... that is just my interpretation of it.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. Like those people that see a canvas with a few splatters of paint and muse, "The color definition really reflects the artist's internal struggle between his desire to create and the pressures placed upon him by the corporate monolith he must conform to... really, it is a reflection of all of us."
No, it's a few splatters of paint. Move along.
Know what I mean?
The artist meant that picture to be a self-reflective image, maybe not of who she is, but who she feels like she is...
...I saw a vulva.
It's in the eye of the beholder. I'm not right or wrong, I just see... a vulva.

NOW thats ALL I can see.
lol, Birra you have wonderfuly f*&Ced up mind! I can see it both your way and the artsy fartsy way, since don't we all begin in just that place.
Yep. Vag. That's a vag.
Please look at this and tell me I'm not the only one who sees this....
This is some hand drawn art - original work that the user here on VR is using as her avatar. It is stated in the profile "This is a drawing of mine of who I am."
COMMENTS
yeah, I saw it, too. Only, I pictured it as being upside down. The big white blotch being the clitoris, and the darker bits being the folds of the labia. But your way makes more sense. Maybe.
I suppose when it's abstract it goes both ways.
That's what she--nevermind.
this is the first im ever seeing of this and I am in a total WTF is that suppose to be
But I do see your point Birra
Oh my god *covers face*
Wow - now I know how a gynecologist feels
THAT is one hair covered vagina...
chrysanthemia, I see what you mean. It can be upsidedown... thank you for helping me conisder that.
I was thinking more along the lines of the medical diagrams we had in college. My mind didn't quite make the leap to the 69 view of it...
Wow.. now it's an optical illusion... I wonder if I bring my eyes out of focus what I can see..... AHHHHH!!!! NO!!! MAKE IT GO! MAKE IT GO!!!!
I'm trying to get the image out of my mind but I did see it right away, only upside down looks better (can I say 'looks better'?) GAH. Stoppit now...and is that thorns?
eew...erm...eek!
Thats a pretty gaping hole if thats the case, and all that hair, errrrr....just saying...
Ha ha ha, Yeah, I saw that at first. If you look closely, you can see there's a person in the middle though. If you blow up the image, you can see it easier.
You've taken this to a whole new level.
It's a perfect representation, except she forgot the teeth.
Woah.. that is like wow..
You know what I say?
Someone has to take it too far. If I don't, then who will?
Great- now Ima going to be seeing this all day- and optical illusion is damn right too...lol

WTF?
HA! Good luck!

I was gonna induct him & make him participate in our poetry contests just to watch him squirm.

LOLOLOL
There there love, just be sure to keep it in a cooler until you're ready to scrape off its scales.
This will be good! His first comment made me howl!
Woooooo!
DAMMIT!!!!
We wanted him
...Russian is a funny language to listen to when you can't see anything else that is going on.
Sounded like this guy just said something about boobies and "I keeel you."
Strange.
COMMENTS
So... Are you saying that Russian is pornographic and violent in nature?
Umm.. no. I think the descriptors I used were funny and strange.
Especially considering it was a film about music.
Sounded to me like you were talking about Achmed the dead terrorist...lol
Well, now.. that's just not politically correct.
o_O Politically correct? Whuzzat?
A classic truth...
COMMENTS
Hahaha...Funny cause it's true!
Lol! :D
Yep. That's the damn truth.
PAH...you guys have it so easy.
We do. Spontaneous public boners and sensitive external genitals aside...
LMAO off!!! I'm so stealing this!!!!
I've said that exact statement quite a few times.
"Have a happy period" my f****g ass.....
...Pumpkin Pies in the oven... fresh pot of sauce on the stove. Tomorrow I make the lasgana... the house is just going to smell so good all weekend.
COMMENTS
It smells incredible here. Ahhhh
:( Mine smells like nail polish.
But the silver liner- My nails look HOT! ;)
Ok- I would take the home made lasgana over the nails.
*thinks forlornly of the Stouffers Lasagna in my freezer and sighs*
Catch some smell in a jar and mail it to me!
I suggest we all pool our funds, move to Buffalo, buy a house, and all live together- best cooks take rotating shifts....lol
I have the house an an extra room.
There's always a couple couches and a futon, too.
damn now Im hungry
...honestly, it has to get better from here on out... right?
COMMENTS
it bloody-well better lol
Bah haha! They all blur together for me.
I seriously doubt it. Then again, I'm a pessimisticly optimistic realist... Or am I an optimistically pessimistic realist? Hmmm....
Yes. Yes it will. WE create our own reality. Everything else just has to catch up ;) Hang in there man, we are on your team.
Well err, yes until Monday comes around...
...honestly, a lot of rating boils down to... if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything.
COMMENTS
Keeping in mind that "good" is not the same as "nice" heh.
b-b-but, I really really really want to hurt people with my 1.
It's all sharp and pointy.
No, in this case, I mean good.
'Tis better to be quiet and look like a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it.
Or, as a counterpoint to the good/nice debate...
"If you can't say something nice about somebody, come sit next to me!"
...well, at least we've found a productive use for all that junk mail we get...
...my grandfather whom I lived with passed away when I was 14. Although I realize many people never get to know their grandparents at all and even fewer still get to enjoy 14 years of a close relationship with them, I still feel the hurt and disappointment of losing someone so influential to me so early in my life.
He taught me life lessons I will never forget - and more of them in 14 years than I think anyone else in my life ever has.
One important one being, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, you're not going to have time to do it over again."
A lesson the people who did work on this house surely were never taught... ugh.
COMMENTS
I was fortunate to have my maternal grandfather until I was in my late teens. He was a good man, and taught me alot about looking at things, and really seeing them.
He also looked at my parents the day I was born after seeing me for the first time, and said:
"You're not really gonna try and raise that are ya?"
I feel your pain in the house department. Probably why my bathroom remodel is taking so long. Just have to get it "right"...lol. Or it could be that I am just too busy doing things that pay the bills.
Good luck getting the house fixed man.
Well, I discovered yesterday, while working in a crawl space to see how I can bring another electrical circuit to a room that has one light and one outlet (WTF?) that I can see the sky by looking up past the chimney.

Tonight is Roger Waters, The Wall at HSBC Arena here in Buffalo.
HSBC, although the name of a bank, we call it the Hot Sauce and Blue Cheese Arena.
Morri is a wee bit excited for the concert as we have been looking forward to it since May. I was 10 when Floyd originally toured for The Wall and although my parents went and I begged to go, I didn't get to.
I'm pretty stoked as well. This will be a great show.
COMMENTS
I'm so jealous.
I'm dying to know what the audience is going to be like. A mix of older and younger fans? or mostly older? It's hard to know. Take some pics!
I am so jealous...I watched The Wall when I was 15 and it just blew my mind...like Thoth says, perhaps the audience will be young and 'not so young' - truly awesome musicians have the ability to bridge the generations, drawing them together and Floyd does that spectacularly...Photos perhaps?
Well, Morri is young and I'm not so young, so... there you go.
*squeal* I'm freaking out man!!!
*chuckling* You guys are gonna have a fabulous time- I hope you guys enjoy the event.
...I had this weird dream last night where I couldn't stop putting on lip balm... I think I went through an entire chapstick inthe course of about 20 minutes...

The part I'm impressed with the most about the big one the 5-yr old drew out is how well proportioned he made everything. It took the other two a lot longer to figure that out and they still don't get it right a lot of time.
